ryujin's shoulder dance got viral everywhere after this xD im a fan of a lot of groups but this is one of the best songs in the 4th gen by far and it was the one that made me stan ITZY
I'm not a Midzy (their fandom name) but I love every ITZY song I've heard so far. They always get immediately added to my kpop playlists as soon as I hear a new song. Also Wannabe is just such a lovely uplifting song, pure self love and acceptance. I swear if you need a little confidence boost just play it and you'll feel like you have them just cheering you on to be whatever you want.
The first time I watched this, I did not understand why the girl taking off the heels was such a big deal, until it shows her again later in the video. She takes off the outer layer she was wearing, goes through the doorway and is then on a catwalk during a fashion show. After I figured out that it was a fashion show catwalk, I realized what the shoe-removing scene was about and why it was important. In the fashion world at those shows, bare feet are looked down on if you were supposed to be wearing shoes on the catwalk (clearly, she was supposed to be wearing the shoes that we saw her remove). If it was a swimsuit show that's different but you are still supposed to at least wear flip-flops or sandals for that. She went completely barefoot. You are not supposed to stop for anything until you get to the end of the catwalk; you do your turn so all angles can be seen by everybody at the show and for the cameras. Then you are supposed to go back through the doors, et. This stopped and was letting people take pictures, she took up a lot of time and basically stopped the show in its tracks because other models are supposed to wait for whoever is on the catwalk to come back off of it before they go on. She was smiling the entire time with the cameras and phones and she danced (some shows do not want the models to smile or dance or show any of their own personalities at all, the show is not supposed to be about the model but about the fashion. For some DUMB reason the models are treated like robots...). She broke almost every rule of the catwalk except for (1) going completely nude and (2) swearing and screaming at people. This was AMAZING for the idea that it conveys. It goes with the lyrics just fine. The writers and director did great here! Plus, OF COURSE, the song is AWESOME! Great job all the way around! :)
Yeah, you're right. The girl with blue hair is Ryujin and she was in Artist of The Month, but two more Itzy members was there too, Yeji (1:12) and Chaeryeong (3:21) and all three slayed their performances.
Discovered them few weeks ago and Wannabe is my ultimate mood-booster. Everything bout this song is perfect to me ❤ But their whole discography is top tier, also their B-sides 💣
Itzy probably has the best lyrics in my opinion, very empowering. Also, Lia's expression when she decides she's just gonna start kicking shit off the table is just the best thing ever. You're probably also gonna like Itzy's other songs like Not Shy, Mafia in the Morning and Icy
I am a metalhead just like you and Itzy is the group that made me love kpop. It's nice to see a fellow metalhead enjoying kpop. I think you will enjoy ICY by ITZY.
This makes me feel so much less silly now. My favorite bands outside of kpop are Metallica and Stone Sour! So the opposite of anything in the kpop world!🤣

So hair is one of those things that idol companies try to control. Generally, they are excepted to ask permission from their company before they cut or dye their hair, and often the company will decide what to do with their hair for each comeback. So the whole hair cutting could also be a jab at the Korean music industry puts a lot of restrictions on their idols and doesn't letting them be themselves. I know Hwasa got in trouble for cutting her hair before their debut and then went to their CEO to ask him if he liked it short.

If you should watch their following comeback, Not Shy, I suggest you also see Letters to Midzy that they put out at the same time. It is not an MV, but something akin to interview, where each of them gives her thoughts about a very personally meaningful topic; Not Shy is, superficially, rather... superficial (though super fun to watch and listen, beautifully filmed, with an amazing choreo), but Letters to Midzy makes it all _very_ impactful.

I woke up to this and you made my day! Itzy are awesome and I knew you'd easily catch on to things in the video as well as dig the positive message, even though I'm older than them I find their self-love inspiring and hope to have even a smidge of that one day. I'd love to see you react to more from them, they've been solid from debut -Dalla Dalla- and I really respect them for singing live with their choreos (as with Dreamcatcher too). 3 members have had AOTM videos so far, all completely different but equally awesome, so much talent! please react to nct they are a 23 member group which consists of 4 subunits (they mainly promote in subunits). the main concept of nct is that they are an unlimited group meaning they will constantly add new members. every year (expect 2019) all of the subunits or members would gather and produce an album/songs with all of the members participating such as nct2018 (back then they had 18 members) where they released an album with the track black on black, nct2020 (consisting of 23 members) with the album resonance and the whole group track called resonance and lastly nct2021 (only 21 members participated due to some circumstances) with their album universe and the whole group track called beautiful. nct u - the first subunit. it is a rotational unit meaning anyone from the whole nct can participate depending on the concept. some songs can consist of 2 members or 10 members. i recommend 90s love, make a wish, 7th sense, misfit nct 127 - this is the second subunit a fixed unit consist of 10 members however one member is inactive and mainly promote in another subunit. i recommend kick it, sticker, regular, and favorite nct dream - the third subunit which consist the younger members of nct. its a fixed subunit consisting of 7 members but it started out as a flexible unit with a graduation system where when the younger members reached the age of 20 they will graduate from the group and enter a new subunit however it became a fixed unit. because of their age (they debut at the age range of 14 - 17 so they had a more youthful bright concept but as they grew older their concept changed) i recommend hot sauce, hello future, and ridin wayv - this is the newest subunit which is nct’s chinese subunit and mainly promote in china. consist of 7 members all of chinese decent but of various nationalities. they mostly have more mature concepts. i recommend kick back, turn back time, moonwalk. please react to nct it would mean a lot. thankyou🥺🥺

Now you at least have gotten a taste of all JYPE active groups. TWICE- SKZ- Itzy - NMIXX. All Itzy early tracks are about self love and confidence. Great messages for the young audience they're targeting. 3 out of 5 Itzy members have "AOTM" performances Yeji , Chaeryeong , Ryujin. Itzy has one of the strongest dance lines atm. (JYPE GG's in general are good in dancing and executing choreo) . Hope you dive deeper in the JYPE world and I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Ever since BLACKPINK debut JYP has been obsessed in getting his own BLACKPINK. However out of all the companies JYP is more consistent with the new groups and artists, it's hard to keep up. Where as YG spend their time building up a loyal following for all their artists. YG is the company not even HYBE can match them. They might have BTS but have nothing to take their place. YG on the other hand still has it's artists and sometime this year there will be an absolute onslaught of YG artists bring new music out. YG makes artists that can compete on international level not just Korean. The reason I say this is ITZY are bloody brilliant their debut Dalla Dalla is flipping awesome, then we got this and that shoulder dance will go down in history. However their latest stuff hasn't been doing so well. So if JYP does what he always does and will spend more time on the new groups and forgetting that he has ITZY which will be a huge mistake.
i have to said one thing ITZY is the only group i dislike in kpop amoung hundreds of groups i know since my childhood . of course it's not a free hate comment i have nothing agains't the girls they work they're ass like all kpop group in this industy . and it's true than WANNABE dance became viral in my country when that song was drop . they're a very great dance crew for many people maybe in top 5 in kpo today for a girls groups . but they're also got one of the weakest vocal line in kpop today and the less balanced group it's the only group with i can't find even a single songs i like in they're discography . WANNABE is a decent song even if i don't like it . but it's a very overrated group when you compare them with the other group from they're gen AESPA ,IVE ,WEEKLY ,EVERGLOW ,STAYC ,PUPLE KISS ,(G)IDLE or like iZ*ONE before they're disbandement all of them got a better vocal line , better group balance , better rapper , better lyrics . but ITZY is under JYP one of the most powerful agency in my country so they got lot of good publicity , lot of promotion lot of help , the support of the biggest fandom . that help them to win trophies and awards when group more balanced and skilled like DREAMCATCHER , LOONA or many other from little agency struggle to got visibility and support in the industry .it's sad for this girls to watch rookie group with not many experience and skill got easy way when they struggle so much . but JYP learn from that NMIXX as more potential than ITZY at they're debut ,better vocalist ,good dancer like ITZY , better visual ,and better rapper . but JYP even with great members can find the way to ruin they're debut . i can't understand them .
