I am a truck driver for Western Express. This morning my company asked us drivers if we wanted to go home for our safety. After 2 hours when they got done asking every driver not a single driver said no. We feel the pressure and we know what will happen if we stop. So your shelves may be empty for now but some where on the roads is a truck driver with those products and they are head to your store. We will never stop, we will never quit, and we will never give up on the people of the United States of America.

Seriously. I'm an incredibly skeptical person and even I was in full-on panic mode for the first few weeks. Right wing and left wing both seem to have forgotten just how terrifying things were for everyone. People legitimately thought the world was ending. Governments closed parks and forced people to stay home. In my city, schools closed for over a year.

@Dontask Iwontell Yeah, at the start of the Pandemic, I bought a 50lb sack of rice and maybe 10 lbs of dried beans. Then I bought regular groceries like a regular person. The next week I went in to grab some cans of soup and everything was gone. I just laughed out loud, I mean literally. I walked past a woman with a cart full of toilet paper, and I just pointed and laughed, made sure she could see me. In my head all I could think about was how ashamed I would be if in my selfishness I made the whole situation worse for others than it ever needed to be. I even waited to get my vaccine until they opened it up for all ages because I didn't want to take a vaccine from someone who really needed it. This pandemic showed me the nature of humanity and it disgusted me. A week later I went over to the produce section and it was fully stocked, so I bought a normal amount of groceries... still no TP though, really made me consider ordering a bidet on amazon... I got to thinking about what would happen if these manic people decided to try fresh vegetables... and got a little worried, so I plowed most of my back yard and planted a huge garden. I ate primarily fresh vegetables and fruits for most of the pandemic... The people who stockpiled mountains of TP should see some kind of serious penalty for being complete scumbags.

We lost my son n law and his father 4 days later to covid. My daughter is now anemic and needs meds everyday because of covid. We lost church members and just recently a 82 yr old lady from my job. I lost my husband just 4 months before my son n law to heart failure. I never would have thought this would happen to us. Now I have my daughter and my 3 grandkids living with me as well as my son his girlfriend and a kid I took in several years ago in a 2 bd mobile home. I am 57yrs old and never thought my older years would be like this.

I'm a farmer, don't let people fool you, there isn't a shortage in food. People who aren't in the agriculture industry know very little because they are told very little if any at all, CNN and Fox aren't going to tell you what I'm about to. Dairy producers are literally pouring out milk on the ground because they have no more storage for it, but yet stores are limiting people to buy only so much milk at one time. Beef producers like myself are going broke because meat packers are making record profits selling to stores while the price farmers sell our beef for to the packers has only dropped tremendously. Same way with grain, which produces many many products you buy of the shelf, price the farmers are paid has decreased enormously since this started, farmers are going belly up because they can't sell their products without taking huge losses but yet stores are empty, how does that make any sense? I see a lot of comments from truckers on here, they will bust their butts getting food to you, but also remember your food doesn't just magically appear, us farmers also bust our butts and there is no shortage in food, don't let the media or stores lie to you. I really like the message said here, stick together, we will get over this, no need for violence or hate. Farmers are producing more than enough and truckers are working their butts off to get it to you. Thank a farmer, trucker, nurse, doctor, first responder, law enforcement, fire fighter, heck thank the lady working the cash register at the local grocery store, these are essential workers for this awesome country, not your movie stars or NBA players.

Farmers have been getting fucked since what.. the 70's? Producing the food we need to survive has not protected you from the politics that we need to stop integrating into our society. Both Left and Right have good ideas, both left and right have some supremely idiotic extremists that only see the world the way they believe it should be - Farmers are literally losing their lunches trying to provide us with ours. I remember back in the day when farming subsidies were considered the gov't wasting money on those that didn't need it - look how far we have come turning our feed stock into waste (I saw the milk being poured out on a KZhead video and it pissed me off considering you pay almost $5 a gallon for the stuff now - not pissed at the farmers, pissed at the reason they were forced to waste their white gold and they shit they were being put through) - as instead of giving money to the farmers we think it's better to give it to the banks, and to the airlines and to the hospitality industry... nothing personal against those industries but as vital as they may be they hold nothing on the food we absolutely need to have.

I'm a warehouse worker, y'all really gotta chill out with stock piling. seriously. emptying warehouses out and everyone still don't have what they need. that's ridiculous. there's way more than enough to go around. and after I make sure stores have what they ordered, I cant even go home and wipe my ass.

How long before the factories in China start producing our tech supplies? And by the time they do, how much of our infrastructure will be left in place? It will take us a while to recover from so many laborers being out sick, and the blow our economy is taking will make it even harder...

But I work in perishable goods, and to stockpile perishable goods this early in the epidemic from American grown farms etc doesn’t make much sense to me. Half the shit people are buying mass quantities of, is sure to expire within the next month or so. I don’t have expertise or experience in the subject, but in my uneducated opinion, the stockpiling of any goods this early on is more dangerous than the virus itself

And yes, the stockpiling of simple yet rather serious products for some folks (for one ex. 81 mg Aspirin for heart issue folks) they need that to help prevent a possible heart attack!! It’s a blood thinner, & a one a day really does help! Stores are out of items like that! Just because of people hoarding them! The virus won’t even be the cause of a death. One could instead have a heart attack that would have been controlled easily....but the person didn’t have their 81 mg ASPIRIN to take for the last few days! And what about Benadryl, Melatonin? People use otc meds to sleep! Anyways I totally understand! ✌🏻
Bulldog Wow, I’m really surprised that you’re talking about fresh produce... that’s the only thing not selling at all where I live. Our produce sections are mounded over while canned, pasta and frozen foods are completely wiped out... hmmm maybe it’s different where I live because we have a ton of local farmers and a lot of people have their own gardens... And I think hoarding is not helpful at all regardless, but I do think people should be stocking up on actual necessities that they’ll need for the next couple of months so they aren’t dependent on delivery systems or being able to leave their homes to go shopping...
