Just watched your video I’m a sign maker and we use stuff called korrex , it’s a plastic type corrugated cardboard in various thicknesses and would be 100% waterproof 😉👍
We have a similar brand called "Corflute" down under. It would work well if you could seal the seams
I worked on last year's Santos Tour Down Under, in SA corflute is used for all the barrier signage- you are right @@Rabs73it is very robust!
We used to ship turbine blades in little correx boxes with partitions to separate each blade. Great stuff!
Yes, I was thinking corrugated plastic panels...just as light and waterproof, definitely need the carbon monoxide detector in that though
Only issue is Andy would still need tape unless he went for the design he bought from scandavania last year
When I saw you crawling back out of the soggy tent, I thought what a wasted opportunity. We all would have loved to see you stand up, and burst through the top like Marylin Monroe out of a cake ! 🤣🤣🤣
Bahaha!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
hahahaahaha
A+ for effort! The cardboard failed but the designer/builder did not. Thank you for inviting us along for the ride.
I'd argue it was a massive fail since they already make boxes that are strong enough to hold a couple hundred pounds of metal car parts. Plus, you only need a couple long pieces of tape. Yes, it indeed failed horribly, but not because he built it poorly. HE failed because cardboard boxes been around for what? A hundred years at least?
Really? I was trying to compliment someone for making an effort from start to finish@@rickwilliams967
"It's not a failure if you have fun and tried something" the reason I subscribed. You're a good man sir.
Yeah!
I worked at a cardboard factory here in the states and we made wax-coated cardboard for bakeries. The sheets were very big and could easily be cut into your triangles. Possibly using duct tape or electricians tape would also help with the seams. Good luck next time. 👍
They did make triple wall corrugated cardboard boxes big enough to sleep in.
tape won't stick to wax
@@dan3nadsilver or duct tape it will
@@anthonyandersonfernandesda5197 sh!t I need to learn all this in case i go homeless
Maybe a type of Gorilla tape or Flex tape?
I built a play house for my son out of heavy triwalled cardboard boxes years ago. They were waxed cardboard and I retreated the seams with melted candle wax. It lasted for many months outside thru rain and even snow... And didn't cost me a dime to build seeing I got the boxes from trash at my job and the wax from old candles..
waxed cardboard would have been perfect for this!
That looked looked like a lot of fun to build, thanks for the great the entertainment you do come up with a lot of very interesting videos thank you very much for your effort it is very much appreciated.
What a cool idea reenforcing it with wax!
Ooooh...SuperDad Award, there!
Paraffin new or used can replace the candle wax !
The acoustics of a geodesic are an under appreciated property of the design that it was nice to hear you touch upon. Loved watching you doing and explaining this experiential win. Thanks for filming, editing and sharing this project
"Touch cardboard" earned my subscription. Love the vibe :) Will have to get a Kiwi beer sent your way for a future video.
Aww it's a shame you forgot the crayons to decorate inside. Next time..😜😘
Enough crayon on the outside would give a waxy sheen to help build water resistance!
I love all of my White brothers and sisters.
I don't think kent had time.lol
Interesting experiment. You would think such a shelter would be more durable, like a dome tent or an igloo. All kinds of modifications or alterations come to mind to make it work better.
@@jester92345 oooo another jester
I love that the fasteners work as earrings too!
haha
I had that thought too!
😂
I really respect that you tried it without waterproofing first. I think it provides a great baseline for future videos on a similar theme. Thanks for an entertaining video. Looking forward to more!
The amount of planning and thought that went into this video is incredible. Thanks for all the hard work, I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I enjoyed your enthusiasm in tackling your project and I loved every minute of it! Thank you for yet another adventure, Andy! It was fun to watch and I’m sorry the weather wasn’t very friendly this time. As my dad always said, “Never give up!” Take care and get some much needed rest. 😊
I live out of my car by choice. Been traveling a lot for 3 months. I watch you every night; I love how capable you are, using the wood that's around you. I couldn't build a fire to save my life. Well, last camping trip- after watching a million of your demos on how to build a fire- I made one with ease. I felt like such a success.
Hey that's awesome
Congrats! You added an important life skill to your resume.
Brava! 🧡
Well done😅
Juanita, you are my kinda crazy. Ever listen to any Little Feat?
Add a cheap plastic tarp over the top, you could stay in it for a couple of weeks! Great video, thank you ! ❤
Warehouse operator here. Get a role of pallet wraps, and try again. The wrap is recyclable. This current config would be good during summer. And think about a different tape next time.
My jeasus the planing, effort and ingenuity you put into this video was incredible. You work so hard to bring us so much enjoyment over and over again. I truly don’t think you know how good your content is. You’re so humble and down to earth. Christ why hasn’t some big channel like discovery snapped you up to do a series? You have the whole package Andy. You’re effort is enjoyed by all us subscribers. Thank you. 👍
Totally agree!
This exactly all the things I've been thinking about him!
Agreed 👍 ❤
Prehaps a geodesic style except out of plastic cardboard? I have used polycarbonate and it is water proof! Paper cardboard, unless water resistant treated, will absorb the rain. You might have made it with a tarp pulled over the whole dome. It might have survived if it had snowed, not rained? Looking forward to your next video. Thanxz
Good for you Andy, you gave it a good shot, I really enjoyed watching 😊
Alabama, USA here...I've made hundreds of geodesics from models to houses for the past 50 years and I have to admire you for doing one so well for your first time...and I still am only half way through your video.
From Alabama too…God bless Bama!
From Colorado, USA. I too, am approaching my 5th decade of life, the last 3 of which I considered myself to be the world's biggest, " Geo-Dome-Ophile ". Never in my life have I seen a dome as BRILLIANT as yours. Having the angles preplanned and baked in pre-construction, is absolutely GENIUS. I wish there was an award I could give you to publicly acknowledge you for creative excellence, intelligence, and imagination. You are truly deserving of every accolade for this cardboard dome concept, the ease of assembly or construction is truly unmatched in the world of domes. . . made me fall in love all over again.
Thanks for the video. Trip to Annapolis Naval Academy: I was an assistant scoutmaster. Our troop had old Eureka Timberline TL-2 tents. I remember one time our troop was scheduled to go camping on a weekend that was going to have heavy rains. We bought heavy thick clear plastic and cut pieces that were 1 foot larger in both directions than the floor of the tents. After setting up the tents we put the plastic inside the tents with the edge goin up the inside wall. It rained so hard that there were streams of water running through our camping area, but the plastic worked! We were at a campsite owned by Annapolis Naval Academy. The facility was across the river from the campus and was for support staff. We were allowed to use the gym, the mess hall there and had a guided tour of the Academy one day of the weekend. We had a great time!
STEP TWO👌🏾a stealth camp with Steve would be perfect for this guy
steve's latest video is out. seems he mentions passport issues
Had to repost watching a video Andy, you are absolutely brilliant I’m disabled and retired and you really help me get on with my day. I love you videos you kick ass Andy United States loves you you have to we have to you’re brilliant, entertaining, hard-working. Thank you so much my friend.🙏💙🇺🇸
Ah yes cats and cardboard, that sounds like fun...lol. Love your adventures,it makes me want to camp. At least you fit through the doorway,it looks roomy in there,I've got a couple of grandsons who would love that tent,or dwelling. Thanks for sharing with us ❣️
I think this was a GREAT attempt. The tape was a great idea. A simple and cheap waterproofer is wax. Get a bar of wax that has a flat edge and rub it on the cardboard to coat and waterproof the surface. You don't even have to wait for it to dry. You'd have to do it after taping, though. This was an exciting episode. It's what us adventurers live for.
Or crayons & get to scribbling 🖍️🖍️🖍️
Outside of outright dipping its difficult to truly waterproof corrugated cardboard…. Ast is usually moisture penetrating the cut edges that compromised the rigidity
@@MrSheckstr What's nice about this design is that all the cut edges face inwards so the only exposed edges are right at the points.
I'm lazy. I'd throw a tarp over it!
A coat of PVA possibly 😂
Definitely a two-man job, if one hopes to avoid all the problems & hiccups you've shown in this [admittedly very fun] video… I’m pleased to say, by the by, that since last night I have been a new *Subscriber,* and I don’t mind confessing to already being completely addicted to your channel! Right… Back to my binge-watch of all your vids! 😃🥰❤️
That relentless wind is so noisy. Would drive me crazy 😜 love that you are a true outdoorsman who makes anything work regardless of the weather. Who else sleeps in a cardboard shelter in the rain or snow.😮
Man taking cardboard box building like we did as kids creating forts. in the living room or garage. To a advanced engineering level. Respect. 😄👍
Chuck a tarp over the cardboard, lovely!
or paint with a waterproof coating
its not a proper cardboard tent then.
@@JohnyG29 I dont think there is such a thing as a proper cardboard tent
@@JohnyG29 even comercial card board tents have some sort of protection otherwise they would just not work
A can of spray glue and some trash bags could be used to water proof it
I loved it! You’re so upbeat, happy, and positive! So fun! Thanks for taking us along for this adventure.
Thanks for filming alot inside the tent Kent. I like to see how you get about and how cosy it is in there while its howling outside... thats the best bit!!! Hope you do this all the time with all your shelters!!!
I think I enjoy your cooking as much as the bush craft side of things! Well done, Mate!
And the beer part too!
He eats and cooks like a king! Very jealous lol
I want some of those fat pork sausages he usually have for breakfast!
With a tarp over it, it's a good emergency shelter. You're right, the design was very wind resistant and the material was both insulative against cold and noise. So you learned a lot and I'll look forward to the next gen. Very creative. To be honest, I fully expected it to blow away. So well done
bit complex for an emergency though... maybe incorporated into a 'bush' lean to more...
Just wrap cling-film around it. It would suit the challenge he was going for better I think.
@@Truthwillalwayswinoverlies Oh, I thought he was going for eco friendly. But you might be right. I do think a tarp would be reusable longer and faster to put on though. It's interesting to see the different ideas people have.
@@thizizliz eco friendly sure he would bin it like the cardboard for recycling after he was ready with it and he should try it in his backyard if he's planing to keep it for awhile see how long it last .. Obviously a tarp is reusable for years who throws tarps away after one use must be a right gomey 🤣😂. but the cling film would protect the cardboard from collapsing in the rain if wrapped correctly and if he wanted to keep the structure he made for weeks /months he could just brush on some glue let it harden then wrap it. There's many things you can try with it .
@@Truthwillalwayswinoverlies that would cause the cardboard to mold up.
Thanks for the giggles 😂you made me smile very relaxing from the Isle of Man.😊
We built that same cardboard shelter back in 1980 for a high school project 2 man team built like 8 of them..then took them out on a field trip over the weekend .. was fun ...thanks Mr. Ron Lower teacher
I wouldn't call that a fail, it did exactly what you thought it would do. You had fun learning, designing and building it and you gave us entertainment along the way. Probably my favourite of your videos so far, not least for when you laughed at the point you knew you were heading for the truck but it didn't matter. Glad you came back for the reveal :-)
Yes, he has a great sense of humour & never afraid to laugh at himself 😂
Was just about to post this. Spot on.
I love the effort you put into this! Calculating the angles had to take a bit of time. I love your creativity and approach to design!
Just a suggestion I slept in a cardboard box for the homeless we used big plastic bags over the top which was good because it snowed that night ❤
I think you’ve missed the point also very well done for spending one night for the homeless must’ve made YOU feel really good 😂 pathetic
Yeah, or one of those thin plastic dust sheets over the top. They're only like a couple of quid. Would have waterproofed that whole structure and so no worries.
I was thinking lightweight tarp oor bivvie but if something lighter can do the job all good . Cardboard still great insulater especially on the ground.
I love all of my White brothers and sisters. May God bless us all.
I had the same thought when he did the first cardboard tent. A thin tarp or some big garbage bags on top would help loads
"a lot could go wrong today, and a lot could go wrong tonight" this is my favorite intro to a project 🤣
Cardboard camping. The most batshit crazy idea I've ever seen. I loved every minute of it. 👍😄
I loved the next morning seeing that poor tent. We have lawn signs, they're made out of corrugated plastic. Get some silicone caulking and you would have a lightweight shelter for long term. It could be your "emergency" shelter if you ever get in this situation again.... I'm thinking you might 😊
Even Gorilla tape instead of that paper tape he used would make a cloroplast dome last for years. If he gave it a coat of spray paint or UV protectant, it would last even longer.
Like he said just stuff it in the hole.
Four hours of building a batshit bonkers shelter in the wind would make any old simple grub taste amazing but that sandwich looked awesome. Love how you go to so much effort to cook hearty meals. Makes everything so much more pleasurable.
My thoughts on a geodesic dome is how to incorporate drain channels to collect water down rather than through. And, overlapsin critical areas like how siding and roofing tiles overlap. To keep everything compostable and biodegradble maybe some kind of melting wax brushed on.
Waxed cardboard would probably work great for waterproofing, but as silly as it is to bring up with a paper tent. It's REALLY flammable, I use it as a Firestarter because it lights easier and is much harder to put out than normal untreated paper
I envy your cold tolerance, I love the sounds of wind and rain.
Here in Oregon, people put awnings over their tents. During the rainy season they put the tent on pallets. They put tapestry's on the sides in the summer and tarps on the sides in the winter. Your cardboard dome probably would have survived if you had thrown a tarp over it.
I had a similar thought... or if instead of cardboard, the dome was made of wooden dowels or the like, strictly as a means to support a tarp or plastic sheeting. Wouldn't help so much with the wind noise or insulation, but as you say, much better against rain,
@@CSGraves Yeah I think the cardboard is worth it just for the insulation factor alone. It's worth it to be able to heat the space with his propane space heater. Plastic alone on a dowel frame wouldn't hold the heat. Also the rain is deafening on plastic alone. You've effectively made a drum.
@@cillyhoney1892 card and tape needed waxed, weak point is tape
@@cillyhoney1892 Which is fine _if_ you grew up next to a perpetual marching band competition. :-(
Yea, it held up very well ...for carboard but, some trash bags over it, it might work.
Buckminster Fuller is smiling at your experiment. Always a fun time, and sometimes when things go wrong, they actually go right.
I lived in a small fishing village and as kids we would use the wax coated fish boxes and duct tape to make forts all the time. They would handle a few weeks worth of rain but you sure didn't want to get them near a fire.
Enjoy watching you try all these materials to try and camp in
All credit for taking this on, it was a brain teaser as well as a test of patience and diy skills. 👏👏
Long time viewer, and also a native Philadelphian. We do not put bell peppers in our cheesesteaks. It’s every other city’s “interpretation” of it, that includes peppers. For us, it’s just the bread, meat, cheese, and optional, sautéed onions, ketchup/mayo. We have pickled cherry peppers as a side, if you need a palate cleanser after a few bites. I will admit, it did look tasty. Unfortunate for the tent. As always, great video. Cheers Andy!
Peppers are a really nice addition though IMO. And personally I prefer sweet red bell pepper to the green ones. :P I must admit, I am not a fan of the "cheez wiz" or Swiss cheese either tbh. I actually like a nice provolone instead. And the suateed onions are a must!
What a test. Thanks for it.
Cool video. Before you switch materials altogether, please try a spray varnish or boot waterproofing grease on a few pieces first. If your goal is one long rainy night, either of those may get you there. But most serious outdoor tents now have a rain shield that sheds the water before it even hits the tent, so a light plastic tarp over top would do very well (not the goal, I know.) Good luck.
OMG!! Andy.. You have more patience than I have..
🤭
I burst out laughing every time I see your face. I can't help it, your lovely warm nature is reflected in your eyes.
We made one from wood for a kid's summer camp. There was an area of small trees of reasonable diameter not to be flexible, that we cleared to cut into like 3' segments. Lash 3 segments to make triangles. We didn't make pentagons, it was all just lashing the triangles together. It wasn't large, and we really just demonstrated covering it for rain/weather protection. You could tarp it.
As someone who never gets to camp, I’m really enjoying these videos!, this one is epic!
Andy, it wasn’t a total loss. Like you said, you had a good time building it. You did a great job putting your cardboard tent together. You definitely put a lot of forethought and time in building your box tent. I have to give you an A+. Thank you for another great video.
Not a big camper enthusiast or an outdoor person myself. But I love art, and dear Sir, your man made shelters are ART. Big fan from Indonesia ❤️
Applying the tape starting at the ground and overlapping up towards the top (like shingles) may have reduced or eliminated the rain water getting into the joints. There are more water resistant versions of cardboard coated with wax, plastic or even foil. Might be more suitable for a tent that needs to stand for more than a day or two. Duct tape is widely available and is purpose-made for sealing joints like that. Thanks for the experiment and the video. :-) Cold and rainy here in the Silicon Forest, Oregon.
You have a lovely sense of humor and acceptance of things going wonky!
I still think you did good Andy. Give it another try when you can. I really enjoyed it, like you said as long as you had a good time.😂 Thank you for making this grandmaw's day a little brighter 😅😊
I made Truck Box Camper out of a cardboard box (and also made a sleeping pad out of Balloons). You never fail to please Andy. I love your channel and you inspire me to continue making You Tube Videos. Thanks Mate!
😂 I can just imagine you floating around on your balloons while you're sleeping in your camper, lol
This is a rather interesting tent concept, I can see a extreme lightweight interconnecting triangle pannels being used to build a tent like that, won’t flex with the wind and doesn’t get that agressive whipping slap sound that some tents do when it’s windy
Loved seeing kitty helping!
I’m a vanlifing maths teacher in Yorkshire and loved this video. Can’t wait for your next geodesic dome. Bring it in loads of fun to watch.
50 yrs ago I stayed in a waxed cardboard box that was 3 ft 3ft x 10 ft, held up perfectly during a rain storm. But this was in the fall in Germany on a U.S. A. F. Base on the flightline where our Captain told us to seek shelter wherever we could find it, it worked like a champ for an overnight stay. Slept like a baby in it all nite.
While watching this video, it dawned on me that you could rainproof this with wax paper. If you cut the waxpaper to just a little bit smaller than the triangles, you could add it while taping up the joints (the tape for the joints also holding the wax paper). Alternately - they do make waxed cardboard. :)
I know this is not a great compliment to get, but your Videos really help me relax and sleep and i watch them every evening... Thanks!
DUDE, I totally GET IT! Pain in the arse to actually do, but the cardboard concert emerge tent, plus that white geodesic-dome tent a few weeks ago, oooh, SO doable, how could you resist? I couldn't have, SWEET experiment, THANK YOU!
One should rarely be afraid of try new things. Not a failure. The concept was sound, you just need to tweak the materials. A rain fly would have helped, but probably still not enough. Maybe a little bit bigger for more comfort. A coat of polyurethane maybe? You gave it a go and that’s what’s important. Good job Andy.
Exactly, some kinda coating.. paint, maybe a hot wax sprayed on the panels..
Honestly I would like to steal this design and make my own and try it out in a desert camp out here in Arizona. It seems it holds heat well so nights won't be so cold but all the breaks in the tiles would allow it to breath during the day. Not all failures are failures. This could work in a different environment and honestly I liked your design over the festival tent you tried out. Dont give up, this is a good idea.
That was my exact thought: desert summer tent! Especially if you make it reflective or white on the outside, it would also be a great sun shelter.
Gorilla tape, or even better, window tape would work fantastically. In fact, the window tape (used for installing new windows) would work for applying to the entire outside of your cardboard tent to make it completely waterproof. Window tape is very wide, extremely sticky, and 100% waterproof.
This channel is out of this world brilliant. ❤
Thanks very much :)
Totally agree ❤
Love your wee cat, we have three. I cant tell you how much respect I have for this build, in that wind, amazing
Should have had some bean bags, for weights. And a little paint to waterproof the corrugated. I would like to see you make one, out of Coroplast. I like the concept.
I enjoyed watching your experiment! I know you're a bit disappointed that it didn't hold up, but even so... you've set some wheels in motion for me. Thanks for doing all that!
I assumed it would soak through-you proved it. Big difference. Now you can improve on what you established. I would call that success. Many avenues open now. Coating, very thin plastic, using a compressor to dissipate something on the surface .......you did the work, you are the man!
Hugely enjoyable effort Andy and not something I have seen been done before. The carpenter in me loves to sit and watch structures be created and the fact that it never worked has made you, me and by the looks of it lots and lots and your viewers scratch our heads and re-design our own solutions.
You can try the waxed ones used for vegetable transportation, those are usually a lot more water resistant
I expected a sheet of painter's plastic to go over the top -- that or some protective spray coating. Either one would have dramatically improved the outcome. (I'd prefer the clear plastic, as it's reusable. I have a few of them that have been used multiple times, stored with my other painting supplies.) Nonetheless, another interesting video.
You really do make great videos. The preparation involved in this one must have been immense. After all your hard work and perseverance, you simply take the bad luck on the chin and move on. Your calm enthusiastic attitude is infectious to watch. Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing your next cardboard tent design.
Not a failure, at all. You planned well, worked well, put it up well, knew what you were up to. Great video, sorry for the hard night and thank you ! 😊💪👍
If you wiped the outside of the cardboard with an oil of some sort or a silicone lubricant spray you it would mostly waterproof the panels also the obvious solution would be a camping tarp strung over the top of the shelter would keep off rain and wind and stop the noise from rain beating directly on the cardboard. Though as other have mentioned correx sheet is cheaper than cardboard, I think its 5 or 10 quid for a 4x8 sheet
-Bring tent stakes and drive them into through the bottom flaps. That should solve the wind problem.- [you did do that I guess]. You could even use pegs during the build phase to help hold things down. On the same notion, you could use something to temporarily hold the panels together while you’re building and put the clips in later, from the inside.
Hey Kent, these videos are just getting more interesting but entertaining and hilarious, thanks bud gonna enjoy this! 😅
That was such fun to watch - not so much to do I expect. I admire your commitment - as well as your culinary expertise. As an old lady it feels like a breath of fresh air to me and brings back memories of fun times. I have watched lots of your previous videos and look forward to more in the future.
ClearCoat the outside of the cardboard, and seal the tab seams with thin wax paper folded to make a 'T' at the tabs. ... guarantee it'll withstand the rain much longer... if you seal the inside faces of the cardboard panels, that will help keep the condensation from soaking in on the inside. If you use the cardboard from produce boxes, they are usually already precoated in wax, which will make the panels waterproof before you start.
Great idea! ❤ Pretreatment of the cardboard with silicone upholstery spray, waterproofing spray for hunting gear. Possibly even rainX or Thompsons Waterseal. Then use some Flex Tape to seal the edges. 😂❤
The cardboard tents were fun Andy. They engaged our inner 10 year old. :D (and you got a kitty - how endearing :))
That’s a shame it didn’t work. The cardboard soaked up the rain pretty fast. If it was colder and snowing instead, I think it would’ve been fine. You tried and that’s the point. It was fun watching. Thanks Andy!
Your cat is adorable with his/her little red coat
I like the idea of the cardboard geodesic dome. Can’t wait for another try
Very brave of you using geometry for tent construction, you got the formula right. Me, i always used this formula and it never failed. The angle of the dangle is inversely proportional to the heat of the meat, provided that the maxis of the axis, and the gravity of the cavity, remain constant.😏
🤣🤣🤣 sound advice
Thanks for the much needed laughs!!! 😂😂😂😂
Thank ou, Danny Kaye
The mathematical probability of someone watching you is directly proportional to the culpable stupidity of your actions. 😜😘😜 🖍️🖍️🖍️
Great fun! Misadventure is still adventure.
Very entertaining and informative, thanks for yet another outstanding vid. Have you thought of trying either a pyramid or maybe a teepee style one, using cardboard? Less seams to leak and steeper faces to better encourage the rain to run off.
I use to make cardboard tents for weekend concert festival and it always rained so I made a wood frame with screws and washers then coated with Thompson’s WaterSeal and a tarp. First time it flooded because I put a tarp over and under creating a pool. All cardboard was pre coated only on exterior and labeled to make easy build. Upgrades to foam board roof for max waterproof
I also had a false sense of confidence after watching the previous cardboard tent video - I gasped when you showed what it looked like in the morning! Glad you weren't in it anymore! I definitely understand why you just wanted to go home at that point. I loved this video idea and watching you construct the tent was amazing! I guess if you wanted to try it again you would really need to either spray it with a weather proofing spray (like for winter boots?) or put a tarp or something over it once it was constructed. I think that would still count as a Cardboard tent. :)
Superb effort to be fair. You have the patience of a Saint to put that together and up in those winds.
Butcombe Ales are based at Wrington Somerset. My favourite pub has served Butcombe since they first set up over 30 years ago. Their "Gold Ale" is nice, best though from the barrel. The other local brewery is Cheddar Ales, who do a nice bitter, popular with us cavers called "Potholer"....if you mix half a pint of each you get a "Butholer".....😂

You are my new therapist/ anxiety reliever. Thank you❤
Look up vagus nerve exercises! Try out different ones for multiple times, until you find one that works for you. It might work instantly or it might take quite some time. At first I thought it was woowoo, but it's actually based in biology and it works absolute wonders! I suffer from severe cptsd, depression, adhd, chronic kidney disease/pain, and a few other things, that screws up my stress response and parasympathetic nervous system. Because of that I'm always lowkey tense and stressed out. For more context I also used to have an extreme anxiety disorder for many years. Where I had agoraphobia, health/death, social and insecurities anxieties. Luckily I resolved all of those completely, and have recovered on that part of my mental health. Anyway aside from therapy, meditation, mindfulness and radical acceptance, vagus nerve exercises have always been, and still are my best quick short term solution go to. I hope you'll be able to find a few that fit you, quickly. Remember even just existing and doing nothing, you are a human being worthy of being here, worthy of living and worthy to be loved. Don't value yourself by others and learn to love yourself deeply. Don't be too hard on yourself and just keep trying. Failing is okay as long as you keep standing up after you fall down. Teach yourself that you only have control over how you react and learn to be okay with whatever you feel. Good luck with everything and I wish you well ❤.
I reckon you should revisit a cardboard tent in a bit of a wintery weather to test how insulating it is....just throw a tarp over the top so waterproofing isn't an issue and see if you can keep warm in there in colder weather
Watching this show makes me think about knights who camped out. The little fire. The lamp. Making camp. Can you wrap your brain around choosing to live like that? Awesome!
