Part of it probably was because r* is now part of 5M and could be where they got the unknown unknowns playlist ideas from

Usually they add stuff like this to the creator at a later date. IE Open wheel races and transform races

Now watch Rockstar set limitations like "maximum 5 laps" and no chance of changing the time and weather. Would be awesome if they didn't think so restrictively though.
The plane banking through the jump zone was a fantastic bonus!
"I can't understand getting duplicates at all" It's a generalised version of the birthday paradox - you need surprisingly few people in a room to have a > 50% chance of 2 of them sharing a birthday. I think it's 22 or 23. Same applies here - while there are hundreds of cars to choose from and only a limited number that you'll use, there are many many more pairings of those cars you use, and so not that unlikely you'll get the same one twice in a race. Twice in 2 laps though... that is definitely unlucky!
Maybe I'm off base here, but there's no such thing as a truly random, digital randomizer? A number generator has to use some type of "seed" to start its equation, system time, IP address, etc... So my guess here is Rockstar probably just is using sub-par algorithm?
@@95mushroomno, this kind of stuff is only relevant for security reasons as it might be possible for people to predict the next number, but the “randomness” of them is perfectly adequate for almost everything.
@@95mushroom They aren't going to be bad enough to be noticeable in this way, they're just not often cryptographically secure, ie random enough to withstand an attack if being used to generate a random encryption key or something. Having said that though, access to cryptographically secure algorithms is pretty commonplace these days so it could still be, not that it would be needed for something like this. It certainly wouldn't be a noticeable effect either way.
It could be human bias. Humans never think true random playlists are trully random. In fact many streaming services have a fake random that is designed to feel random to humans. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is trully random. We've all experienced in gta before, for exmaple, that cars loaded into memory will show up in traffic more. It could be a factor that we aren't aware of.

The fact that you can respawn to get a different car could become a pretty interesting feature... You could get a predetermined amount of respawns per game and use them during the race to skip a bad car.
Nothing beats Project Homecoming Random Alls, but that is actually really nice
For the 2nd time, i synced up your feed with Broughy and watched them side by side on my monitors. Watching the tanker truck (RBS) slam down on the yellow Baller from the two different angles was intense. Keep up with the content fellas, we appreciate it! (Comment duplicated on Broughy1322)
I think a Random All gfred would actually work quite well in vanilla. Let's say someone arrives at any given checkpoint and gets something that's slow. They could respawn to roll the dice again, but this costs time. Say I'd get a Dozer at the airport. I respawn to get something bland and boring. Do I accept that, or do I respawn and try again knowing I can get a supercar, or something slower again? When is the given car fast enough to accept, and to catch up to whoever got lucky? Perhaps the time loss can be made even bigger with some creative props. For example the airport, make the checkpoint a LOT bigger than it has to be. Make sure the respawn area is within some construction of props which has to be carefully driven out of. If you don't respawn you're fine, but if you do decide to respawn you'll have to wait for props to move or something. Could be given a try at least.

I'm so mad that the jet flying around the map that kept flying through the strike zone wasn't hit a single time by any cars.
This is one of the best things to come to GTAO yet. Hopefully R* sees the light on this one.
Some of the weirdness comes from the hud, or lack there of And the annoying smoke when you change But it's kinda cool still!!!
I cannot wait for these random checkpoints to come to creator on console ! I just hope they will have fixed the possibility of getting duplicates in a race ........

With all of the random things exploding and aircraft flying around, this is a hell of a lot more chaotic than the usual experience on this track!
Some pattern: Tecnical Aqua, Zhaba, Toreador, hitting an emergency vehicle on the cross section
Cautiously optimistic with these new races. Along with the smokey transform checkpoint effect, I wish the checkpoint parp sound could be disabled, it's such an annoying noise when you notice it.
@Broughy If Rockstar DOES end up making these checkpoints available in regular creator, you'll have to add this into the rotation somewhere in your seasons (I'd vote for once an offseason like this...unless duplicates can be sorted out) AND retest the fastest and slowest stuff to find the Holy and Unholy Trinities! But man, I like the fact that I will finally jump back into GTA again, even it's just to race on this job (and maybe catch the stream Gfred tonight)! If only Rockstar could actually take a lot of the good ideas of GTA V/Online into GTA VI...
I would like to see this race but with custom vehicles enabled - even if its just a one off to see what its like. It also adds to the randomness of a random all because you cant own a lot of these vehicles and so the number of custom vs stock vehicles would also them be random for each player
A random all on the downtown F1 track would be awesome
Watching this I realized how much we take the engine sounds for granted in Project Homecoming. I swear everything sounded like an electric in this one.
Most vanilla car engine sounds on PH are unaltered, and most of the modded cars use vanilla sounds

So how long is the new dnf timer? You cut back in with like 13 seconds left on the clock and I don't know how many it started with. It would be nice to have a longer timer for all races.

It's 1.5 minutes in this race. Doubt that feature will ever make it to the public though.
I think rockstar should make it avalible for everyone aswell as updating them a bit to make duplicates able to be turned off before the race start maybe. It's honestly something I think I'd try and do often to play the game more if I could decently consistantly find enough players for them.

It would make things interesting if you could build hybrid races, either with this or PH, where you could do Random Land/Sea/Air checkpoints and build races around those transitions like one of the Rockstar races did in the showcased tracks
It would have to be in Online because PH doesn't have a lot of boats or planes spawnable

In addition to this they should add drift races to the creator. Half of the vanilla drift tracks are so unimaginative or plain stupid like beach slap.

Maybe there are so many duplicates because each lap it picks a specific class of cars and not from the whole pool so if it picks sports twice you might have the chance to get the same car again but still seems too often even like this so idk
The reason why there was more dupes in this is probably because some vehicles (such as the blazer aqua) exist in multiple classes. I was busy (read: lazy) and just enabled all vehicles apart from planes and helis.

Oh interesting that makes sense actually. There are some duplicate vehicles in classes in transform races (like the turreted limo being in Sedans [normal class] and Weaponised [transform specific class] iirc).

I did an Unknown Unknowns recently with 7 laps I think, and I got the Mk1 Oppressor 4 times
Wait, if you get a random car on respawn, that means they don't determine the randomness in advance, but during the race. Might not affect the race much, but maybe explains some of their decisions.
I have played some time of random all races (unkowns unkowns etc) on vanilla gta and duplicates are quite frequent. What is the cause ?
Either it assumes cars available in two or more classes count as multiple entries in the car pool, or they do randomised with replacement

I wonder if their random choice system uses the same system as the random traffic, where if a car is loaded into memory it will spawn a lot more. With how few and far between supercars were, considering how many of them there are in gta online. I'm starting to believe the classes are weighted, where some classes have a higher chance of spawning htan others.
I've had so many back to back duplicates in the Rockstar created races that I think it must be some kind of bug. The vehicle selection is smaller I suppose, but still seems way too unlikely statistically

As stated in the video, you can't. This functionality isn't widely available until Rockstar enable it.

Was there still no option to turn on custom personal vehicles in the datamining?? I am also not a fan using stock vehicles when races would be a lot more high octane with fully upgraded vehicles... I'd be extremely disappointed if the eventual official release of it in the creator doesn't allow us showing off all our own vehicles & have every vehicle fully upgraded regardless of if you own them, just like in Project Homecoming....
Also also, I don't see why these Unknown race modes wouldn't allow custom vehicles when the original Transform Races do allow wherever applicable.

It's really promising to see R* add these kinds of things. It makes me think there's one or two employees that are fans of your content, so when they get a chance they add in stuff inspired by your community and the mod community in general. If they added the ability to do random races properly, without PC magic they would be doing themselves a massive favor. I would install the game again after 5 years just for that alone. Also if you happen to see this, on Craig's server he added in a really cool random Gfred. Basically after 4 minutes you get a random car, then every consecutive 2 minutes after that you get something else. It was really entertaining to watch, possibly my favorite variation of Gfred so far. This can really help the whole situation of consistent winners, it changes things up massively.

The intent was to stop people respawning when in a slow car to get a newer faster one. I very much lost out from that respawn, but either way - I simply forgot. Sue me.

The regular GTA random all's probably get dupes based on some kind of lack in the coding or algorithm. Maybe even because of memory related throttling or chokepoints.
it doesnt matter if they would make it available... hackers would ruin my experience anyways.
