  • I was at this show and it was shorty after 9/11. It means so much to me that they would encore with "The Enemy Within" and insert America into the lyrics. It reminded me of when Douglas went to war torn Bosnia and played a concert for them. He didn't run or canceled the show. He came over and took the chance to sing to us. Very much needed and very much remembered!

    • Except it was not Bosnia, it was Croatia. They even recorded two live albums. It was back in '92. Money earned from this album was donated to one hospital for Croatian victims of war. He said, on one concert I attended, that Croatia is his spiritual country, I don't have a clue why but it just is.

      @soleillnoir@soleillnoir5 жыл бұрын
    • Why would he run or cancel the show? It's not like US were under radioactive cloud or something. Terrorist incident like the ones happening all over the world all the time, just that this particular one was on a more spectacular side of things. And as soleilnoir mentioned, he was in Croatia, not Bosnia. Mind you Zagreb was never a war zone, and at the time there was a several years long ceasefire in Croatia, monitored by UN troops. It wasn't like he was playing the concert under a artillery barrage.

  • Despite its stylistic diversity, this band was above all a composer of expressionist aesthetics, always close to drama, depth, anguish and the deep and tormented vision of life that seems to emanate from the metaphysics of man as of his very deep nature🔥🕊

The whole military used stahlhelms of generally the same model (They differed in construction as the war progressed) excluding the Fallschirmjagers who wore a smaller, rounder helmet.

      @hansbauer6817@hansbauer68174 жыл бұрын
    • "At the start of the eighties, Tony and I were involved in radical left politics and beneath it history students. In search of a political view for the future we came across National Bolshevism which is closely connected with the Sturmabteilung hierarchy. People like Gregor Strasser and Ernst Röhm who were later known as 'second revolutionaries' attracted our attention." -Douglas Pearce Strasser and Röhm were early prominent members of the Nazi party who combined fascism with more socialist economics (aka Third Position). Whether or not the music is good (I enjoy it), it's pretty hard to deny they have some Nazi sympathies.

    • Blake Erbuse ....you can expect fine eclectic taste in music and some guitar playing skills :-). On the other hand , as i see, i cannot expect reading skills - i fave the vid "40 power metal BANDS in one song" and this guy who made it is realy amazing. if you would spend some minutes to watch over your horizont you might realize that death in june is more cult and image than music like Yanis Dyakov said . in my opinion musicanship is NOT irrelevant if i want to use the medium music to spread your ideas.

      @gp170276@gp1702769 жыл бұрын
    • gp170276 you're free to share your derogatory comments, and i have that same freedom; this "3 chord" music is to me way more honest and profound that the sound vomit produced by those hair bands. If you really appreciate "music that spread ideas" you couldn't even hear glam rock and their "sex, drinks, partying and rock & roll" 99% lyrics.

      @acarocacaro@acarocacaro9 жыл бұрын
    • Blake Erbuse think we´re getting nearer to the point:-). I want to say - if you want your ideas to be heard as artist you´ll choose a medium which you are cabable to handle best - sculptur, artist, dancer, musician, poetrist,speaker, writer...but do it good cause otherwise it will not be heard. it´s not my intention to argue about lyrics cause if i want to read "good " lyrics i ´ll read a book and not lyric sheets (if they don´t have some taste of humor and irony from rap to nefolk, from metal to pop it´s all the same ). Music should mainly entertain and on second level open your mind for the ideas and concept behind the artist if he has something to share.For me it´s all about the music which should move. back to topic - this live gig is just obviously NOT entertaining and i still cannot understand that people are so much into the cult death in june that they aren´t able to hear how weak the music is . Death in june tried to be serious music for serious peolpe - but for serious music it takes more than minor chords....btw "Laibach" are entertaining and have strong concepts, ramones, misfits - 3 chords and never tried to be seriuos. I just cannot understand that lack of talent for writing listenable songs is mistaken for "true"sense for music. (similar to the "true" black metal scene while bands like fleshgod apokalypse or Dimmu Borgir are "false" black metal cause they can play :-) ). peacable greetings from austria
