My underground garage opening to show: (right) The last ever Diablo to be sold new in the UK (I bought it new in 2001), and (left) One of only 3 factory made Right Hand Drive DeLoreans (the other 9000 were LHD, a few of which were converted to RHD by a third party).

One word S I C K ... Kudos.. someone figured out what to do instead of piling them up on top of each other in a garage.. That is cleannnn I know a few people that would do that with their garage. Need to email this guy.

@wolfyys It's got a concrete sump formed into the concrete shell, with a float activated sump pump, plus small heaters and a dehumidifier to keep the air dry.
@nibbsuk cool how did they get those metal panels that line the empty hole in? and do they leave them there after concrete goes in? wont they rust

very cool system - no question about it! :-) but do you - or does someone - know, what is made to make the garage water-proof? in case of a heavy rain for example.

@tomuss94 Err, yes that was me, not my finest hour ! Sorry no video of the railway taken to upload, but they do repeat the programme sometimes on sky ! Gee that "Sultan of Michigan" has a sweet garage, bet he never drives the cars though !
what if part of a car was on the piece that raises over and part was on normal solid ground. wouldnt it just tip over onto its side.?
I also have to comment it looks very strong, stable and sturdy to lifting two fairly heavy cars on top and also 2 more underneath and the gravel as well. How many tonnes is that in total? shouldn't there be some extra guard rails that pop to prevent the top cars from "rolling off"?

@VollgasHero Nope, but it has a sump with pump-out to a near drain, and dehumidifiers to keep it dry. When it rains the humidity does go up, but on average it's around 50% (ie dryish).

Wow. I remember reading up on these elevator parking things. Very nice, saves on space and looks very secure. though I expect to be pricey. Also holds my favorites a Diablo and a Delorean. :) Probably as time goes buy a underground garage would end up being more practical and cheaper then an above ground.
Any water that enters goes to a sump formed in the concrete at the bottom, and is pumped out by a submersible pump with float switch. In addition there are heaters set to come on below 5C, and twin humidistat controlled dehumidifiers. It's also linked into my home automation system and an alarm sounds in the house should it flood or exceed the humidity limit for more than a brief time !

that is awesome.....absolutely awesome!!! i have a question?! do you have a manual back-up should your motor fail or power cut occur?? (though i would imagine if you did it would take hours to wind it up lol) :-)
is there a chance of getting trapped between it when its lowering or does a sensor stop it?

@nibbsuk as cool as it lucks it seems a bit risky, shouldnt you at least have some markers on the ground to guide the cars into a suitable parking space so that an accident doesnt happen.

@Welcome2theGDlife Nope, supplied by Intergarage UK Ltd, a now defunct company. Apparently I was about their 30th install, the 6th double one. Now maintained by my local lift company :-)

was you on tv quite a while ago about fighting for number plates or maybe something completely different i cant remember, i've seen this on tv tho, amazing defo something i would do!
Definately look at the build Photos, very impressive!! One of the coolest toys ever, Wouldn't want torrential rain thugh I guess you could raise the cars in that event.

For those who doubt the fact that there are any FACTORY made RHD DeLoreans, please visit Wikipedia, search for "Delorean DMC-12" and click the link in the contents "Right-hand drive models". My DeLorean is VIN 5565 (AXI 1671), although for some reason the registration number was changed during its 22 years in the Patrick Collection. It is the only factory made manual RHD, the other two were Auto's.

In the description of his video "Water Feature !" he says: "What Engineers do when they get bored in the garden !" Then, when someone asks him what type of engineer he is he says: "Chartered Electrical Engineer (where `Electrical` is a bit misrepresentative as I'm actually an electronics engineer, specialising in communications)...." @rubythrashmetal This was the `fast option, with twin 3 phase 10kW motors, single phase was going to take over 60 seconds. I had to have my whole house converted the three phase for that 25 second improvement :-)

@96QuiteBitterMe Err, No. Common mistake ! Checkout Wikipedia (search for "AXI 1697", my car) - written by people who know more than me about it. It references the 13 Wooler-Holdec cars, then post receivership the three AXI cars. These were made after the company folder IN the factory and were destined for the UK motor show to try and generate a UK demand and hence save the factory. JZD was arrested the night before the show, the company pulled out and the three AXI cars were never shown !

nice range rover, i love those range rovers.
They are both Automatics, so it's pretty hard not to leave them in Park. If guests end up on top I do make a point of asking if they have the handbrake on !

Light beams on all four edges don't allow it to move if interrupted by a vehicle etc.. Nothing stopping you trying to drive in when it's only half up though :-)
@ShanesAutos Yep ! Or rip a wing off if parked overlapping the lifting area !
It has light beams on the lower floor to stop it moving if a door overlaps the edge or a car is parked too far forward or back. Once it's moving however, you wouldn't want to be in the way ! I ensure there is only 1 remote control, that the one remote is in my hand (not the kids), and I watch it all the way down !
Are you the N1GEL owner that was on the tv show UR 50 V41N? If so, can you please upload a video of your model train setup, and i do envy your garage SOO MUCH :)

@jaydaintith Err, no. Not directly. No power = no play. In case of equipment failure though you can connect an external hydraulic pump to a pipe and raise it using external power. Not something you'd do in a hurry, but if you knew someone with a tractor.....
