I actually got the DMC HD collection a few days ago and I beat him in three tries keeping it on normal. I wanna try him on hard mode but I have to agree. So far my FAVORITE boss fight and the weapon is oh my god so good and fun to use. Also note i am a complete noob when it comes to DMC XD

I really love the fact that the singer of this track is the boss itself. He's literally singing about how fucked you are. On top of that if you don't know how to beat him you're very fucked. It can be a huge wake-up call for you as a player.

I disagree. I think it's Dante speaking to his target. Dante is a very cruel combatant, he's as strong as vergil, but prioritizes toying and embarrassing his foes instead of fast, clean kills like vergil. Torture through styling on a fool.

Wanna know why dmc3 is the hardest of the dmc on normal and hard? After dmc 2 came out the international response was that dmc2 was to easy. In response capcom responded by upgrading the difficulty of normal and hard mode of the international dmc3 release so that when you play normal your actually playing on hard mode.

I like to think the lyrics of Cerberus' theme are referring to how Dante in the chance of succeeding to beat them (which he does of course) and enters thr Temenigru, everything will (and does) change forever for his life. Sure, he lost his mother and brother and some friends along the way by then. However, this was a new big event that would bring us the character he is in DMC1. It also kinda works on the player too, because after you reach and beat Cerberus, everything gets real.

I never really had an appreciation for how well this song fits the battle with Cerberus. The slow sluggish start as he lumbers about effectively toying with the "human" he sees before him only for it to kick up a notch as he realises "YOU ARE NOT HUMAN ARE YOU?!?!" and starts to take Dante a bit more seriously. This song fits so god damn well it hurts.

I think a lot of people miss the point of the Cerberus themes. 3's theme is a slow, big, chained up *literal gatekeeper*, while 5's theme is a rabid dog, free from its chain ravenously chasing and mauling you all across the arena at a frantic pace. As much as I got a little hard when 3's theme was teased at the beginning of 5's boss fight it wouldn't work for such a fast-paced fight. In fact, the closest boss to 3's Cerberus mechanically and soniclly is Goliath, if you think about it.

I feel like Cerbeus is the best boss in the game. His theme is awesome, both his and Dantes lines are memorable, and he is the first boss. You don't have any devils arms, you have starting health, no style level ups, and probably only stinger or drive as a new attack. Not to mention his only weakness is Angi and Rudra so you have to play the game a second time just for that.

If you play the fight really slow, hanging back towards the entrance and allowing his jump attack to occur, breaking the ice Ebony and Ivory before each jump, it's really easy

Playing this game, dealing with the inflated difficulty of "normal" mode, going thru all the way to DMD mode, this is why when i finally got around to playing Dark Souls I was like "is this it? THIS is the game everyone is saying is so hard?!". Don't get me wrong Dark Souls is challenging at times, but after beating the shit out of DMC 3 on every difficulty it aint no big deal.

Bi3berhole69 DMD Mode is pretty insane I'll give it that, but New Game +7 or so in Dark Souls? That's up there as well. Like, literally, the armour I was wearing at the end of the first playthrough could get one hit by enemies midway through New Game +2. That's not even as bad as +7, so you gotta remember Dark Souls is only so difficult on the first time.

I know this is a late comment. But it is because when Devil May Cry 3 came out to the west. The difficulty was very high even on lower difficulties. So in the Special Edition they lowered the difficulty. Looking back i have no idea how i beat the original game so young.

I remember fighting Cerberus for the first time and I thought it was pretty sick. This track during the fight is intense, gritty, and sinister. It really makes the fight better because of it imo. I died a few times but man did it get me going. I really hope DMC5 can have moments like this.

DMC 3 is hard as nails. But in a good way, like as soon as you figure out the tactic to beat the bosses, or just motivate yourself to keep pushing on to win, you can find out that the game is insanely fun. Amazing game, this boss is a great blockade to teach the player its not messing around.

King Cerberus' music has the exact same mistake that Dante's battle theme got (the one EVERYONE hated) and it is simply that it just doesn't fit, especially since the DMC1 trio actually got remixes of their OWN music but King Cerb didn't get a better version of the OG Cerb theme and ended up with something that you may hear on a nightclub.

This boss was a big wake up call to new players of this gaming genre, it kicked your ass time and time again and you realized that you had to read movements and attack around them. I loved this boss and it's weapon

I actually got the DMC HD collection a few days ago and I beat him in three tries keeping it on normal. I wanna try him on hard mode but I have to agree. So far my FAVORITE boss fight and the weapon is oh my god so good and fun to use. Also note i am a complete noob when it comes to DMC XD

I disagree. I think it's Dante speaking to his target. Dante is a very cruel combatant, he's as strong as vergil, but prioritizes toying and embarrassing his foes instead of fast, clean kills like vergil. Torture through styling on a fool.

I played Devil May Cry 4 before DMC 3 (it was the first DMC game I ever played). My thoughts were, "DMC 4 play style is the same as this game, so I should be fine against the first boss." *Died faster than I expected* "This is the first time I'm facing this boss, I should be able to do better the next run." *3 hours later* Game: "Easy Mode is available" Me: "NANI?!"

Wanna know why dmc3 is the hardest of the dmc on normal and hard? After dmc 2 came out the international response was that dmc2 was to easy. In response capcom responded by upgrading the difficulty of normal and hard mode of the international dmc3 release so that when you play normal your actually playing on hard mode.

I like to think the lyrics of Cerberus' theme are referring to how Dante in the chance of succeeding to beat them (which he does of course) and enters thr Temenigru, everything will (and does) change forever for his life. Sure, he lost his mother and brother and some friends along the way by then. However, this was a new big event that would bring us the character he is in DMC1. It also kinda works on the player too, because after you reach and beat Cerberus, everything gets real.
I never really had an appreciation for how well this song fits the battle with Cerberus. The slow sluggish start as he lumbers about effectively toying with the "human" he sees before him only for it to kick up a notch as he realises "YOU ARE NOT HUMAN ARE YOU?!?!" and starts to take Dante a bit more seriously. This song fits so god damn well it hurts.

I think a lot of people miss the point of the Cerberus themes. 3's theme is a slow, big, chained up *literal gatekeeper*, while 5's theme is a rabid dog, free from its chain ravenously chasing and mauling you all across the arena at a frantic pace. As much as I got a little hard when 3's theme was teased at the beginning of 5's boss fight it wouldn't work for such a fast-paced fight. In fact, the closest boss to 3's Cerberus mechanically and soniclly is Goliath, if you think about it.

I feel like Cerbeus is the best boss in the game. His theme is awesome, both his and Dantes lines are memorable, and he is the first boss. You don't have any devils arms, you have starting health, no style level ups, and probably only stinger or drive as a new attack. Not to mention his only weakness is Angi and Rudra so you have to play the game a second time just for that.

Cerberus is the only boss I can't seem to read the attack pattern of. He bites so randomly, everyone else I'm like okay they are going to do this next but Cerberus nope.
If you play the fight really slow, hanging back towards the entrance and allowing his jump attack to occur, breaking the ice Ebony and Ivory before each jump, it's really easy

Playing this game, dealing with the inflated difficulty of "normal" mode, going thru all the way to DMD mode, this is why when i finally got around to playing Dark Souls I was like "is this it? THIS is the game everyone is saying is so hard?!". Don't get me wrong Dark Souls is challenging at times, but after beating the shit out of DMC 3 on every difficulty it aint no big deal.
Bi3berhole69 DMD Mode is pretty insane I'll give it that, but New Game +7 or so in Dark Souls? That's up there as well. Like, literally, the armour I was wearing at the end of the first playthrough could get one hit by enemies midway through New Game +2. That's not even as bad as +7, so you gotta remember Dark Souls is only so difficult on the first time.
PatVX1 Tomb of the Giants is unfair for sure if you are unlucky enough to not get a lantern. There are a few other ridiculous part but overall not too bad.

I know this is a late comment. But it is because when Devil May Cry 3 came out to the west. The difficulty was very high even on lower difficulties. So in the Special Edition they lowered the difficulty. Looking back i have no idea how i beat the original game so young.
itsovernyanthousaand Actuallty I was originally playing the game on medium and had to reduce it to easy after I kept dying on this boss. It was indeed really tough.

I honestly love both but DMC3 did have the better theme for Cerberus.
I remember fighting Cerberus for the first time and I thought it was pretty sick. This track during the fight is intense, gritty, and sinister. It really makes the fight better because of it imo. I died a few times but man did it get me going. I really hope DMC5 can have moments like this.

DMC 3 is hard as nails. But in a good way, like as soon as you figure out the tactic to beat the bosses, or just motivate yourself to keep pushing on to win, you can find out that the game is insanely fun. Amazing game, this boss is a great blockade to teach the player its not messing around.

King Cerberus' music has the exact same mistake that Dante's battle theme got (the one EVERYONE hated) and it is simply that it just doesn't fit, especially since the DMC1 trio actually got remixes of their OWN music but King Cerb didn't get a better version of the OG Cerb theme and ended up with something that you may hear on a nightclub.
