I guess they're doing it to give them a chance for entertainment purposes, but they could have super easily stayed hidden for 30 minutes if they didn't make any noises or movements. Especially Connor, he could've just dove into any of that brush and stayed hidden for days with that gilly suit.
they had to find 3 people twice in 27 minutes so it's pretty fair that they have to make some noise

yep... the point is blend in. back in my paintball days, i had a ghillie suit and lay on a hillside of tall grass, and took out half the other team without getting a single shot fired at me.. (the rules at the time : when hit, you had to go to ground and be wounded.. if a teammate could help you back to a base, you could reenter....otherwise you lay there for 10 mins and had to return to base before renetering play. )
