oh amen. in an industry like hollywood that’s about as daring as it gets. being strong and comfortable without makeup, botox, hair done, etc. (and ironically it actually makes her MORE beautiful) and it’s even more apparent on her show. she’s not afraid to just bare all. hell, even emotionally- she’s not afraid to “ugly cry” haha like we all do! she’s just real. viola is an absolute force of nature. an inspiration for all women, not just women of color!

I,m reading her book,To God Be The Glory Gor The Things God Has Done. She had a Rought childhood BUT GoD,Mrs.Davis Is Worth her Eright In PURE Gold.
Strong, instinctive, shape female who just face to be beautiful with no make up or with wigs, not trying to stay sexy or look young every time at all costs, as beauties standards : Viola, you open a wide door not only for black women but for all women who can see the line too. Congratulations !!!
Oh baby you're so right !
oh amen. in an industry like hollywood that’s about as daring as it gets. being strong and comfortable without makeup, botox, hair done, etc.
"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity" viola is someone who's career is defined by her heart of gold. You redefined the significance of being a woman of color today. And my respect for you is eternal. Thank-you viola Davis.
She deserves a hundred like that award
OMG! You can tell how much it meant to Kerri Washington! Very well deserved Emmy. & bless Taraji for being such a wonderful person.
I swear Taraji's screams stood up😂😂
is it me, or did anyone else notice the older white men behind taraji who I'm guessing is not really grasping the significance of this win, or oblivious to the lack of opportunity people of color face in the entertainment industry. they look as if they don't care at all, "your problem not mine" mentality.
paul galazo agreed. That's what wrong with the industry. Like Chris Rock said, it's sorority racist.
paul galazo well I gotta free with you on that. Hopefully it goes great. Good luck with that sir.
paul galazo John Stamos included
Don't assume
paul galazo yes!
Idk what I love more: Viola's reaction or Taraji's reaction.
BOTH I AM SURE, BUT TARAJI IS THE REAL DEAL AND SHE JUST SHOWED IT WITH THAT VIRGO REALNESS
She is so well-spoken and sincere--a breath of fresh air in Hollywood. Go Viola Davis!! You've got a bright future full of awards waiting for you :)
Is it just me or did every white person in this clip look super uncomfortable? Lol
lol.. they all are love, except for Kerry and Taraji
Willa Wonka you caught that too huh, they looked uncomfortable because a lot of them are out of touch with reality...
Willa Wonka yup I peep that
Willa Wonka what I notice is the older white men behind taraji who I'm guessing is not really grasping the significance of this win, or oblivious to the lack of opportunity people or color face in the entertainment industry. they look as if they don't care at all, "your problem not mine" mentality.
Willa Wonka No it wasn't just you, we all saw that.
I sooo wanted Taraji Benson, Kerry Washington and Viola Davis WIN an EMMY. I was so pleased and super proud of Viola Davis. She deserved and earned it.
I LOVE seeing black sistas support each other! damn i love being black, especially when i see moments like this, now more than ever we really need it!
Viola Davis is a national treasure, and that hug between her and Taraji P. Henson, with the two of them racing toward each other to tell them they love each other, was the greatest
This is such a beautiful poignant and loving speech. I love her so much.
Beautiful historical speech.
Kerry and Taraji reactions are the type of energy we need to be on even in 2020, periodt !
Taraji and Kerry real ones👌
She absolutely needs to do some sort of spoken word recording of an audio book or anything that would allow her to win a Grammy award. If anyone deserves to be an EGOT winner it is this beautiful, amazing, spectacular human being.
Did she or or not yet ?
@@lawtraf8008 -- As of now she has not received a Grammy award. However it appears she is putting in effort to try and win one, however she was snubbed last year not receiving a nomination.
She is nominated now, let's hope
@@criminal017_ -- I am so very happy for her. I pray she wins. Her acceptance speech will be spectacular.
she just won it! she got her EGOT
Truly deserved! Just finished watching the series and its great!
kermifairy Recife Brasil.
Well said!!!Just finished reading her book
I did not see that speech coming but I am 100% glad I heard it! #blackgirlmagic :-*
Racist like u🤮
The energy of viola and taraji hugging show how they support each other in real!!
I wasnt able to track how many times I've watched this award speech of this compelling actress... *VIOLA DAVIS* is a *POW* 👏👏👏
This has got to be one of the best positive images of black women in support of each other, this is so Amazing, even though some of the white men were a bit uncomfortable with her speech, but that’s what it means to be unapologetically Black, I loved this allllll the way 🙏🏿🙌🏿✊🏿
Taraji and Kerry's reaction = major sisterhood
I just finished binging watching this series this week.. when I say I don’t understand how she didn’t win every year!
I just started watching. Season 1 episode 2. I’m already intrigued. This woman is a force of nature.
Me right now
I love Taraji. That was such a solid sister-hood moment. Me love looking at their unity.
I don’t know what’s better. Viola winning the award, Viola’s amazing speech, or Taraji’s reaction to Viola winning
I love you and Kerry, both of you are amazing. Absolutely stunning and inspiring too. I bet on you, always!
I love that Taraji just as excited at viola’s win as her. Viola is one of the best actresses of our time. Period
Wow, this woman is the truth. Her mesmerizing speech is simultaneously soul-stirring and incisive . . . to the point where it gives me chills. The heart-melting reactions from Taraji and Kerry are just icing on the cake. Such an incredible moment. Go, Viola!
Viola has the magical ability to give me chills with the way she delivers her roles. She deserves all the awards and accolades! ❤
Kerry and Taraji. Queens supporting queens
Taraji's reaction is epic! ❤️🙌🏽❤️
Taraji reaction when Viola win a emmy
Every role that Viola Davis plays has made me cry. She gives such emotion that can be felt.
This Analise Keating getting award for being the best lady lawyer on the history of tv shows..
No one gives a moving speech like Viola. I get goosebumps listening to this talented woman.
What a beautiful speech. Just breathtaking and awe-inspiring
Wow, I'm crying my eyes out. Also thank you Viola for what you do and speaking for women of color.
She got a tear out of me and to see the pure happiness and support from the other esteemed black actresses just touched me 🥰
I absolutely love this woman. Everything she acts in I have to watch. She is an amazing actress. She gave me chills on how to get away with murder. She is a powerful force.
🔥🔥🔥
It’s remarkable to see how strong and inspiring Viola is. Her personality makes her character so independent, strong, special, and brilliant. Hope she will get a thousand more rewards because she deserves each one!
Taraji is amazing. she is just like, "yes black queen! you better get up there and get your award!"
Viola and Taraji ❤️
This speech and the quotation is so awesome, I don't mind hearing it over and over again, because you know what it's from the heart and it is very very real there is nothing fake about it I tell you, nothing. Viola I wish you could see all that we write for you, even though this is three years ago it felt like now, you are my inspiration, you have given me so much strength.
Her speech is always make me cry
I love how Taraji, a fellow nominee, uplifted Viola in that moment. Taraji has ALWAYS been that way. She was supposed to be on the cover of Ebony Magazine alone when she got an Oscar nomination. Viola was nominated that same year and in the same category. Taraji insisted they include Viola in the piece and on the cover. And they did. Love this woman to pieces.
That hug with Taraji a lot of people don't understand but trust me I do. That is Power that made it. That is they finally see us. That is strength and faith. Congratulations Viola!
She's an amazing lady really
Taraji is the best friend u could ever have

I have just finished reading her book - Viola - finding me, and now that I've had a glimpse of her life, of how hard this beautiful woman has struggled ...I want to watch her speeches in all the awards she won. If you haven't read the book yet... give yourself a huge gift and DO IT. Viola, you are Divine
Viola was absolutely ASTONISHING in HTGAWM!! Hands down one of my favorite characters ever written!
I'm watching this on a random day in a bus and i want to cry, her speech was just amazing 😍
Wow! One of the most powerful speeches in modern history! Hats off to you Viola Davis. You deserve every bit of that award and waaaaay more!
Awww shedding some tears. This woman AK. I have not recovered from watching how to get away with murder. She's the very definition of passion. WOW
I come back every year to hear this. And every year I understand her more and more. I love you Viola.❤️❤️❤️
i swear i almost cried watching her, there’s not many black actresses & she’s named the few that have given each other THE OPPORTUNITY to be something great!! i love & support all those women & it just saddens me that it cannot be like this within the music industry

She definitely deserved this Emmy !! I love her so much !!!!! Shes so talented , so real , so honest and so brave ❤️💙
yess, they knew they were the only black women going against the rest. Supporting each other!!
Now that's how you give an award speech!
Viola Davis is definitely a definition of true talent. She’s such an inspiration, so talented, so hardworking, even thinking about her makes me cry with tears of joy and admiration and that is what makes an actor incredible - not only the ability to portray the myriad of emotions, but also being able to bring them out of the audience.
Her speaches need to win their own Awards I just watch her wins to hear what she has to say she's incredible.
That voice could soothe and tame even the wildest beast. You can actually feel passion, love and empathy just hearing her. Wow!!!
Words can’t describe the genuine love I have for this woman.
Just came here after finishing her book, Finding Me. I tested up twice in that book and a couple times in this. So so damn happy for her. And she’s genuinely one of the best actors working today❤
Very much deserved. I have only seen her in How to get away with murder, which I'm still currently watching but she is AMAZING in this, her acting is really good and I'm so happy she won this! This speech is beautiful.
this just makes me cry
Taraji's reaction was #priceless.
What a Heartfelt and powerful speech, Viola is truly a strong, beautiful and Inspirational Woman!!
