    • @@dustingaethje1332 Maybe not everyone, but a pretty sizable part of the MMA community did. He was a really popular fighter, UFC 244 and 251 sold like hot cakes and no negative press when he started his own promotion. It was until Usman KO'd him and Covington had wars against Roid-man that the narrative started to change and Masvidal started to lose popularity. Then he supported Jake Paul before his boxing fight with Askren (again, no surprises there. Masvidal hates Askren's guts and no wonder he helped anyone to train for a fight with him) and that's when the narrative against Masvidal got rolling. And it didn't help that Covington dominated him comfortably before the sucker punch. But before all this, Masvidal was the man, and we already knew he has a knack for sucker punching mfers

      @jacksdad734@jacksdad7342 жыл бұрын
    • With that one, I feel it was the least accurate take in the video. With all the women's fights we have been getting, even among the elites, we have seen far more stinkers than bangers. For every Weili vs Joanna we have three Gaethje vs Chandler, and for every Ngannou vs Lewis we also get two Namajunas vs Esparza 2. At 125 Valentina reigns supreme, but her reign has two duds (Carmouche and Maia), a fight that should not have gone to the fourth round (Murphy), two dominations (Chookagian and Andrade) and a murder (Eye) that naturally is the one clip they always play when it comes to Valentina. And this is talking about the #1 P4P female. I get it, everyone has off nights, but for elite levels, those off nights can't be this bad. And also the fighters are not held to the same standard as men. You can't have a fighter, no matter how good of a submission wizard you think you are, start hard sparring until you get to the ranked opponents.

I thought the Cejudo fight proved that there was a ton of talent at 125. But DJ was just that good. Because Henry tore through most of the division as well before getting demolished against DJ the first time. Lost a split to Benevidez and then tore through everyone again before his controversial win over DJ. I was really sad we never got DJ vs Cejudo 3. And now look at the division it's fucking wild. Could you imagine if DJ, Cejudo and even Sérgio Pettis were still there to mix it up with KKF, Moreno, Figuredo, Askarov and the ilk? It wouldn't be quite as deep as 135 or 155, but it would be comparable to 145 or 185. • And the Charles Olivera story is the most impressive story in the UFC today honestly, and you just can’t sit here and say that man isn’t the best in the world now imo. And I feel he’s on such a roll and also such a monster on the ground and also has great striking, I do believe a fight with him and Khabib would be a lot closer than most would think, and also I really do believe that he could beat Khabib, but that’s just one well sadly never get to see so. But love or hate him, n9 one can sit there and say he isn’t the best 155 in the UFC and that he doesn’t deserve the belt, cause I couldn’t think of someone who deserves it more. Also don’t even get me started on that “missing weight” bs. I remember seeing in twitter a couple fighters saying they were told that the scales were a half pound off, and there is a scale out in the back that they step on before going out to do the official weigh ins, and you can’t make me believe he wasn’t on weight before going out there and then the scale was off and he missed cause of the Bs scales and now he has to get his belt back that he never really lost imo. But anyway, all that matters is he won and he’s still the one in control of his career and still the person who is about to contend for the fight again.

And yeah he technically won with the choke, but I mean Chael laid out the blueprint to beat Anderson really, just for some reason no one other than Chael did what he did and just kept taking him down, dominating him on the ground refusing to let him up and really refusing to let him breathe or catch a full breath without Chael raining down blow after blow after blow. I feel any of the ones who lost to Anderson after that were kinda not that smart for just going out there and implementing a similar game plan against him, except not getting too comfy in the last minutes and letting him get that choke on them. Anyway, that was still my favorite Anderson Silva fight up until the part where he won, that and the Michael Bisping fight lmao.
