My favorite part of this game was dying at the last segment of this boss fight and having to redo the entire fight. 7/10 game
First, he lost his best friend, and always "thinking he is a Soldier, fighting beside Sephiroth" Now, He lost his girl friend, and thinks she still exists or alive as if the only one who can see her... Poor Cloud... See you again in the final adventure in the next few years...
Yeah, it's tragic that he lost two of his close friends, but there is still a chance for Zack and Aerith.

Wasn't expecting to see Bizarro Sephiroth in this game but it was a nice surprise.
Zack vs. Bizarro part had me straight-up bawling, it was like coming full circle from AC when Zack gave Cloud the pep talk but now it was Cloud giving Zack the pep talk and I had to cry for minutes 😭😭😭
probably to tease safer sephiroth in the final game.
in Japanese it's always been called "Rebirth Sephiroth" so I don't think there was ever a way that it wasn't going to show up.

Regarding Aerith, i think in two possibles situations: 1. Aerith is actually a hallucination of Cloud, like the Joker in Arkham Knight that is a hallucination of Batman. 2. Aerith become like a Force ghost, making her capable to reveal herself who she want, like Cloud.
I'd say Cloud is having a hallucination of Aerith existing in his perspective, since the other characters are oblivious to her presence. (I saw Nanaki reacting to her presence for a bit, and if that's the case, poor girl. She would basically miss her loving friends reacting to her, being only relegated to a mere whiff of presence.) Aerith is now more similar to Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty: Black Ops, I'd say, rather than the Joker. (Or the Jonkler, IYKYK) Joker's hallucination is more of an evil premonition of what would happen to Arkham Batman, whereas Reznov is a guiding figure to Mason's mission, just like Aerith is to Cloud. Some may argue the two examples may not be similar since Aerith technically exists within the Lifestream, whereas Reznov merely is a voice in Mason's head, but I digress. Funny how both the Arkham Batman and Aerith died in the same month.
Though that as consolation, Aerith died with dignity, as she chose accept this fate to saves the world and her friends. Unlike Batman, who died in a humilliating way, to be simply killed by a headshot, while he was sitting in a bench, like if he was a nobody.
@@josecuestas7246 That was non canon to me. Arkham Knight was the canon ending to the Arkham saga. No wonder the r/BatmanArkham subreddit went into insanity. Also honourable mention for the Persona 3 protagonist, Makoto Yuki/Minato Arisato. The guy also accepted his fate to save the world from impending doom. You could say he's Aerith in the Persona universe.
@@TheRenegadePlayer Good analogy. Minato and Aerith made the ultimate sacrifice to saves their respectives worlds. And also, i like to think that "Suicide Squad kills the Justice Leauge" is actually a Spin-off, as this game leaves even several plotholes in the Arkhamverse, like that apparently exist several Deadshots, and even another King Shark, despite to died in Arkham Assault movie.

Part 3 is definitely called "Reunion" Between the gaps in Clouds mind being filled, Zack and Aerith meeting again and Sephiroth's main event. Then there's the lifestream, Aerith reuniting with her mom and the Cetra. I wonder if they're aiming to release it on the game's 30th anniversary as a nod.
45:34 his theme just became more menacing than last time
The scary part is that you don't even see Sephiroth flinching and he's practically waiting between attacks. His power is still far beyond what Cloud and Zack can dish out at him. He's pretty much just toying with them, holding back enough to give the illusion of being on the same level. Especially when he's just shooting whispers from his wing/hands while turning in a circle instead of aiming at Cloud & Co, he's not even trying.
Yeah….People complain about having to fight him again and winning. However, Sephiroth is the one in control and playing a game. I don’t feel like I win when I “beat” him as he is def not giving his all here intentionally. That is what adds to the terror. At the start of the game, you see how fast, agile, and OP he. At this point, the dude is already a god. He is just toying around instead of taking this seriously.

Part 3 summarize After defeating Sephiroth. Cloud carrying Sephiroth is body to the lifestream then Sephiroth begin to realize his wrong doing. Then he tell Cloud, "You fought well" by giving him a smile. Then he dissolve in a lifestream by joining Genesis and Angeal. And his last words is "I'm waiting Cloud"
Thus "The promise lands" theme is played just like the moment when cloud carrying Kadaj's body to the lifestream.

Yeah Sephiroth basically says his master plan is creating a second timeline and sacrificing the planet in one of the two timelines to restore the planet in the other version. Basically Tales of Symphonia if the Desgaians didn’t want to keep both planets alive.

Cloud basically believes in his head that Aerith is still alive. That’s what I got from all this. He might not be in a coma in the next game. Tifa is very likely gonna have to bring Cloud back to reality by telling him the truth of what really happened to Aerith. Also Zack 2 is definitely real also since we see things in his perspective from his world throughout the game. Marlene tells him about saving Aerith and he tells Cloud about saving Aerith. This is obviously pointing towards Aerith 2 in the second reality who is 100% going to join the main crew in part 3 along with Zack 2 the Legend 👍.
No Cloud can see lifestream Aerith like in Advent children. She's the White whispers while Sephiroth is the Black. This is in reference to the black and white short stories they wrote for both of them before advent children was released.

kind of fucked up how he lost zack and then i think a year later or two i'm not sure how old cloud is when he's all juiced up on mako during crisis core, he's fighting for his life losing aerith and then zack appears alongside him and disappears again. i would not take that lightly towards fate!

@@iam4026 Yeah, taking place on Rebirth Island, a real place mind you. It's the mission where it was revealed Mason was just having hallucinations of Reznov and Reznov never existed since he died in Vorkuta. Same goes for Aerith I guess, though in her situation it may actually be Aerith being visible to him from the Lifestream itself.

@@iam4026 I've read a book from the extended compilation I think, no idea what the title was, but it stated that Aerith actually explored the Lifestream, encountering different people who were unfortunate enough to pass away just like her (like the three Avalanche members Biggs, Wedge and Jessie and even the late President Shinra and later Zack Fair himself), talking to them, before she discovered that her unique heritage as a half Ancient/Cetra gave her unusual abilities like popping up in different places in the Lifestream, even the material plane. It took her a while to harness those powers, hence why she did not appear much in the OG, but managed to pop up in some instances in Advent Children. (Her powers may have also included the ability to purify abnormal corruption like Sephiroth's Geostigma.) Here, it feels like she popped up right after Sephiroth killed her, like the meme where Moe reappeared behind Barney after being thrown out the window lol.
@@TheRenegadePlayerThe Lifestream also has timey wimey properties, so there are iterations of Sephiroth and Aerith from after Advent Children involved in the events depicted here. Which is why Aerith can do those things.
I kind of like how they're trying to make both a remake and a sequel. Its ambitious and clearly divisive but I think it works.

37:21 an extremely good way of dealing with this phase if anyone has had any problems with it is to spam stardust ray, strong no-attribute magic attack! they designed this i think for you to use all elements of magic but you can just stardust ray it and finish the phase.

oh btw i might be late on this or it might be use to someone else but masamune is weak to magic while his wing is weak to physical damage so when sephiroth readies omnislash prime on both cloud and aerith (which will kill you) is to quickly have cloud preferably use infinity's end on the wing and if you have transendence II readied up with aerith use that on masamune or you could auto attack and mix it with soul drain on masamune. the end is nigh part when sephiroth goes all out is to dodge, attack, dodge attack, use clouds thrust attack and repeat until spehiroth is staggered. sephiroth will also dismiss any summons prior to this. @@hitman5782

I've noticed a pattern; in Remake, the very last battle (technically a cutscene but still) is Cloud vs. Sephiroth but instead of ending like it did in FF7, Sephiroth counters Cloud's attempt at Omnislash proving that Sephiroth is calm / emotionless / etc. and in control; in Rebirth, we see Bizarro Sephiroth (techincally "Sephiroth Reborn") and Aerith joins Cloud to fight, and as Sephiroth STARTS to lose control but he's still convinced he can win... so he LAUGHS, he shows an emotion, then retreats... in the third part, I'm thinking he's going to lose his control completely, also ZACK joins Cloud and Aerith then we'll see all three of them fight together against Safer Sephiroth although it'll be more like "Sephiroth Enraged" or something (think of how Aizen from Bleach loses his shit against Ichigo when he's losing, same sort of thing)
Sephiroth having a Villainous Breakdown has technically happened, but it only lasts for a few seconds. A whole fight against him like that will become the most satisfying thing ever.

They have a battle and sephiroth gets the hint that cloud is going to use his omni slash, so sephiroth dashes at cloud in the final moment to disarm him, which he successfully does.. then gives the line where he says 7 seconds.

So, we know Cloud was hallucinating during Aerith’s death, but was her dying the hallucination or was him disrupting Sephiroth’s attack? At the end he is clearly the only one who can see her so she’s probably dead. Also, is the Aerith interacting with him after the battle really Aerith or is that Jenova posing as Aerith? Because my intuition says that Aerith is wrong, even beyond her being Cloud’s hallucination. Is the Aerith that teams up with Cloud in battle really Aerith, or is Jenova putting on an act? One thing’s for certain, Cloud is falling deeper and deeper under Sephiroth’s control.
It’s hard to say. It could be a split timeline thing, where she survived in one, but dies in another. Clearly, she dies in the one we end in and only Cloud can see her, but how dead she actually is remains a mystery. Seems she’s become one with the Lifesteam, and only Cloud can see her and the distortion effect, but does he know she’s actually dead?
So there is a timeline split. One where cloud saves her and one where he doesnt sephiroth kept him on the later thats what im thinkin

Cloud desde un inicio padece de sindrome de estres post traumatico (a partir de lo de Zack) ademas del enmascaramiento por adoptar las vivencias de este ultimo cuando en realidad el no llego a nada, resultando tal vez en un trastorno limite de personalidad. aqui profundizaron mas en esto y por las limitaciones del sistema en aquellos ayeres fueron lo mas simplistas posible, por lo que muchos no nos dimos cuenta de esto y no todos entienden la escena de tifa rescatandolo del envenenamiento de mako... Cloud no pudo salvar a aerith y eso lo llevo a complicarse mas todavia su percepcion de la realidad (por eso las alucinaciones y destellos en la memoria), estando parte en negacion y dudar de su misma existencia. lo que hicieron aqui fue darle mas profundidad al desarrollo de personaje. aqui ya no duele tanto la escena de aerith, duele ver a cloud y su desgracia por seguir manteniendo una idea que no es, una realidad que el se empeña a ver como real.
Mano, la verdad es que Nomura apesta a guano putrefacto guardado por miles de años y que le gusta generar más preguntas que respuestas en un patético intento por ser Hideo Kojima. Todos los cambios que estaban al inicio del remate se van al tacho con este ending, todo eso de desafiar al destino, cambiarlo, la misma existencia de los whispers se vuelve innecesaria porque ya todo está escrito y están tratando demasiado de hacer la trama lo más confusa posible.

I think what happened is cloud is becoming similar to Sephiroth in that he is a singular consciousness across the timelines, everyone else across the different timelines are copies of themselves, with the exception of sephiroth. Sephiroth is the same sephiroth in every timeline. I think cloud is similar except he he for the longest time could only be awake in one timeline at a time, In the game they begin to use something to signify the divergence or merging of timelines , a rainbow light, we see this first when Biggs and Zack recount their survival, we see this next when Zack is making his choice to go to the reactor or Shinra HQ, we see this light faintly radiate off of cloud right before Zack touched him, we see this light again when Sephiroth separated cloud and Zack, and the two big things imo open for my theory, when Zack fights bizarro sephiroth solo, when he uses his synergy an outline of cloud in that same light rushes forward attacking sephiroth, and then when Cloud rushed forward to block sephiroths strike we see that same rainbow light. I think these timelines are now overlapping and cloud is not able to distinguish the timelines, it’s why he sees the clear materia (which doesn’t exist in Aerith is dead timeline) and he sees the crack in the sky (those appear to exist only in divergent timelines)
Not going to lie...everything else aside Sephiroth having " Whisper Cannon" for a attack is just stupid...

@1:04:08 "WE...ARE VENOM" All jokes side, imagine if the Black Materia infected Cloud's mind to the point where he becomes a boss fight, and we gotta fight him as Tifa. Kinda like that Peter Parker boss fight Spiderman 2 PS5 where we play as Miles and he fights a symbiote infected Peter. I understand that never happened in the original, but keep in mind that Remake and Rebirth are reboots to the original and changes are expected.
Honestly Cloud's meteorain limit is conspicuously absent here. I wouldn't be surprised if in part 3 we start out with Cloud going on a rampage with the thing in his sword and that's how he gets access to meteorain. Always found it weird that the main threat was meteor yet he has a lesser version of it as a limit break
that last hit of Zack's Rush Assault Limit Break is basically COSTLY PUNCH and you can't convince me otherwise

Nope, fight also makes zero sense. It's flashy but lacks any of the substance the original bizzaro fight had because they keep rushing the story.
The last minute of this fight . Is probably one of my luckiest minutes in gaming history .

Final villains
Having now experienced the game in full, I wish the ending hadn't been as cryptic and to the plot as it was. It does undermine the emotional impact no doubt. But that final scene however did pack a mighty emotional wallop.

Aerith is the real villain.
They really have gone full Kingdom Hearts with this game, with alternate timelines, time changes that seemingly only Cloud can see [since he stopped Sephiroth from stabbing Aerith, only for him to swing his sword and reveal it had blood on it as if he stabbed her]. Nomura does it again.
Kingdom hearts has literally none of the things you listed and nomura did not write, produce or direct this game. Please start charging him for rent if he's going to live in your head.
People would have bitched no matter how they did it. Just try to enjoy it for its own sake and not how it compares to the original.
The things only Cloud can see are the effects of his worsening psyche and greater influence of Jenova/Sephiroths hold over him. He sees Aerith live because he cannot bear to see her die. Clouds coping mechanism for trauma is for his mind to rewrite events.
Man people regurgitating this kind of stuff must’ve never played or seen any Kingdom Hearts. None of that happens in that franchise. Also, Nomura did not write this game and Remake’s story. He’s the Creative Director, meaning he deals with world design, gameplay mechanics, and character writing. Sure, he may have green-lit the story, but he’s gone on record saying he would’ve had the story be the exact same as the original game, and not have this alternate timeline/universe stuff, if he was a writer for this trilogy.

Multiverse stories suck. Why? Because it lessens the impact of what happens to characters in the main timeline. It doesn't matter if anyone dies when you can just have another version of that character join your party from another timeline, probably with all the memories passed on from the first version cause of the lifestream

So... Is nobody gonna talk about why Cloud can survive being impaled through the chest with the sword coming out his back on multiple occasions in that last boss fight? But it happens to Aerith once and she dies? Make it make sense. Why can't they just cast cure on her like in the final battle? This game has been padded to pointlessness.
The amount of times Seph has impaled Cloud throughout all FFVII history including Advent Children has always made no sense. Cloud has masamune armor……

This is such a stupid way to finish the game. Devs just took LSD and went off the rails i got bored how long this lasted on my playthrough. I almost quit the game and nope im not doing hard mode cos its so dam long
