I see several comments about the no talking being a good thing so apparently it’s just me having an issue with that. I have a Yorkie and like this dog he shakes while getting groomed but I always talk to him during the process using a soothing positive voice. Saying nothing while watching him shake seems so emotionless. Dogs have feelings too.

I got a new pair of professional scissors about two months ago. Thinners. Obviously, I did something wrong because I cut off a slice of my index finger on left hand. I usually have my hand in between me and our little dog. Which is a good thing. I need to watch more on "scissoring". You did a great job.

I have one too and she’s absolutely the sweetest dog I’ve ever owned! Super mild mannered and follows me around everywhere. She gets crazy when she sees birds outside though 🤣

Thank you for sharing your videos. I took my dog to PetSmart to get a bath and haircut. It took 4 hours. He's just a puppy and I went ahead and paid her a tip but the hair wasn't trimmed down on his ears. I'm just going to take the time and I screenshot it some of the items that you use your cutting items and I'm just going to do it myself. Probably looking at your videos probably over and over again before I start but I'm just going to take the time and do it myself. Thank you so much New subscriber❤❤❤❤❤

So do I, my yorkie is always happy to see her groomer, the shop is clean and smells good and each puppy has its own little pen with little cots to lie on . I would never leave my baby with anyone else.

Great grooming techniques! And what a well behaved furbaby!❤ The only thing I will critique is; don't let the hair fall on or by the eye area. Years ago? My dog that went to the groomers, had a piece of hair get into his eye and caused an eye infection and needed meds. Yorkies, are prone to eye infections also. You have to make sure the hair doesn't fall in the eye area. ❤

I own 2 yorkies and I love them so much . They're my world . I do grooming for my babies , don't trust nobody .
I have a teacup yorkie and a bichonpoo and I totally agree with you! When I groom my dogs they are so excited and playful after we are done. But when someone else does it they will retreat into their crates for hours if not for a whole day.😔... afterwards
Better off that way, I trust absolutely no groomer. Last year, an acquaintance had her dog died at the groomer, somehow there was some accident, and the groomer severed the dog's entire leg off, it was a teacup chihuahua. Not sure how that happened, but yeah. I don't trust ANYONE near my animals without me present
Same here, my Yorkie is 3years old and he's never been to the groomers. I trim him every 2weeks
I do the same with my girl, I don’t trust leaving her at groomers, it’s my baby.
That’s where I’m at with it cause my yorkie be so scared when I take him to the groomers and I don’t like how he acts when I pick him up. He acts like someone did something to him.
Wish I could find a groomer here where I live that knows how to groom a Yorker correctly!
I have a whole play list of Yorkie grooming. I have watched them over and over. I now do my Yorkie's grooming. For the cost of the tools is made up by a few grooming you have done. I don't drive so it is very hard for me to get my dog into a groomer.
I wish I could find one near me who could groom my Yorkie as well as this one. My little girl is a beautiful blonde but I keep her hair long and just trim it at home now. Not to mention Brush, brush, brush.. Keeping Yorkies hair longer is a lot of maintenance because they require a lot of time for maintaining thier long hair. I paid 79$ last time I had her groomed and the grooming was mediocre at best😢

First things first, get them tired. Only groom an unruly dog after being exercised and once it has calmed its breathing. Use the scissors and clippers close by them without touching until they lose interest. Touch them with grooming tools and give treats and praise. Then at that point use the tools for short periods of time and give praise and treats. Then increase the time you groom before the dog gets praise and treats
Hello first of all, super good video if you want to refresh your knowledge of technology in front of a customer (dog)! You learn a lot from your videos You can see the process step by step! The most important thing, every detail is there! I had a super great trainer who taught me everything from a to z For example, she showed me a foot and the next one was mine In my work I then noticed that many things like wrong trimming (must not hurt) are not taken into account and she certainly didn't want to hear anything about it! my boss said trimming always hurts :p Trimming shouldn't hurt, otherwise the fur won't be ready and the dog will be in severe pain! Certain dogs must not be clipped! Song, the blood vessels die off over time So I'm self-employed now... because I don't want to harm any dogs or myself! What am I getting at? Your videos help me a lot when I learn other techniques that may be better for me or prepare myself in front of a customer! By the way, great atmosphere! As it should be and not like on an assembly line... Great dog great technique

Does the bio groom powder disinfect their ears? I've always seen the liquid and the method of pushing a big, long piece of cotton in there. Also, what would you do if the hair doesn't easily pull out ... use a special kind of "tweezer?" I've seen those advertised. I'm sure it hurts.

To keep your pet still, use your dog collar and hitch it upwards as in video.. Ive tried without it and he just sits down. Lol.

When I first adopted 2 of my Shih Tzu they had a lot of long hair in their ear canal. My vet told me to gently pull it out because it blocks necessary air circulation. They had ear mites because of the poor air circulation. After I cleaned their ear canals of the long hairs I put in a powder which killed the ear mites. They were so cooperative during this process. I LOVE MY LITTLE SHIH TZU!!! Best wishes from the USA, Jerry.

My little yorkie just gets aggressive when I bath her and bites me if I even show her the scissors, groomer only came twice she looks more like a tiny husky , I do manage to brush her, bit of a fight and I lose blood some times

Great grooming skills. But you have to be careful when you cut the front hair. It was falling into the eye area. My Yorkie, got an eye infection years ago because of the groomer got hair into his eyes while grooming him. Little hairs make it into the eye. Otherwise. You are very skilled. Job well done. 👍❤️🐕

It's something called ear powder. It's used to grip the ear hair easier so you can pluck it out!
Does this hurt the dog when you pluck after the powder?
@@bodhi5933 A little, but some dogs need it done to keep their ears clean and free of infection.

Yorkies are prone to collapsed trachea . I always have the groomer use a harness like leash instead of on the neck
