Lyrics:
If it’s cleaned up shined up pedal down on main
You can bet he’s picking up some pretty country thing
If it’s covered up in red mud with a worn out warn wench
There’s a good chance that that man is a pretty damn good friend
If there’s horns in back there’s a gun in the front
If there’s dents on the side he ain’t scared of nothin
And if a twelve pack’s in the passenger seat
Well he probably worked his ass off all week
Yeah
Somewhere way out there in any given town
There’s a red, white and blue collared driving his around
Turning heads and burning tread and stirring up dust clouds
Like a shine hauling outlaw yeah I’m talking bout his truck
His dash, the county on his tag, the song on his radio
The stickers on his glass
From four bys to two bys its true you can’t judge
A book by its cover but you can judge a country boy by his truck
If there’s a silver cross hanging off his dusty ‘ol rearview
It’s safe to say he’s found amazing grace a time or two
If there’s numbers on the back 92 to 2012
Bet there’s stories bout his best friend that he can barely tell
Cause he misses him like hell
Somewhere way out there in any given town
There’s a red, white and blue collared driving his around
Turning heads and burning tread and stirring up dust clouds
Like a shine hauling outlaw yeah I’m talking bout his truck
His dash, the county on his tag, the song on his radio
The stickers on his glass
From four bys to two bys its true you can’t judge
A book by its cover but you can judge a country boy by his truck
If there’s horns in back there’s a gun in the front
If there’s dents on the side he ain’t scared of nothin
If a twelve pack’s in the passenger seat

“If there’s numbers to 92-2012 bet there’s stories of his best friend that he can barely tell” lives true. My uncle passed away in 2011 in a shooting and he died instantly. I like to look at his truck that’s in our drive and just think about him. Love this song ❤
This song speaks volumes to anyone who owns a truck. I have my great grandpas 89 F150 4x4 that he had from almost new. I still got his pocket knife and his "I voted" stickers. This truck means more to me than most people realize and it is a symbol of who I am like this song says. Thankyou Hardy for making this masterpiece of a song.
hell yeah nation
That's awesome. Start accumulating spare parts because the government in the next decade will most likely start pushing people to leave gas powered engines. When that happens there will be a rush on all types of vehicles and all types of parts for stockpiling or spares before they are Impossible to find. The government might also force OEM and third-party manufacturers to stop making aftermarket parts to compel people to abandon gas powered vehicles of all types. Just food for thought since that truck is so important to you. .
still got my grandpas 88 f150, didn't like chevys that year so he got one. Still outside in the driveway
I was supposed to get my grandpa's truck he used to always hall scrap in he wasn't the richest gp in the world but he worked hard for what he had and he passed last year his sister ruined it for me he wanted me to have it but I couldn't I got his hat he always wore and I will hang it up when I get a truck like his 😕
I have my grandpas 1995 f250 460 5 speed.. i love driving that ol truck! Looks good sitting in his shop that bought when he died
Just got my truck back after 4 months of being stolen. This will be the first song I’m playing once I get back in it again :)
"if theres numbers on the back '92 to 2012, bet that stories about his best friend that he can barely tell, cuz he misses him like hell" man those lyrics hit me like a freight train. i lost my best friend last september in a car accident, its been rough but im making it alright, still miss her like hell tho
Yes! It's not just the guys with trucks, it's the women too!
Felt this hard
Brought me to tears man. I felt that hard.
Me too.
You're not alone brother.
"if there's horns in the back, there's a gun in the front, if there's dents in the side, he ain't scared of nothing" Awesome
i think he said orange but im not sure both would make sense
Yo
Country boys have to have a gun in the front of their truck, huh?
Ikr
I just now noticed that his face is changing color with lights just slightly. This was like my tenth time listening to this great song.
Same
omg i thought i was just seeing things
@@sarahkillmer2887 yeah me too
I can't unsee it now
Holy crap your right
HARDY is a star. The wordplay comes almost too easily for him and he knows how to write the stories that we want to hear. Not to mention he just straight up rocks. Ready for the whole darn album
❤❤❤❤❤❤
This song just made me, a city slicker Bronx represent, sit back in my char and go “I get it.” I now understand the pride that country people have for their trucks. That’s what sets this song apart from all the other thousand songs about trucks
love the pfp 😂
@@LiveLaughLove81 exactly that’s the first thing I saw
Yes sir, thank yuh for understanding
Aman true song and the beat with this system in this truck is stupid good
South Georgia is where I'm at
Most people don't even know what a WARN winch is, fucking love it man!!
Love Hardy, watching a legend in a making
Fact
He has been the legend all along. 🐐🐐🐐
He isn’t a legend in the making he already is one
He doesn’t get enough credit. He’s the absolute 🐐
Facts
Anyone who thinks country music is all about driving around your girl in your pickup truck with your gun in the back etc. is going to hear this song and think it proves them right. And thank god for that, because the rest of us can keep the beautiful lines, like him mentioning his friend, as our secret.
Made me tear up
Same thing with "Give Heaven Some Hell" that song tells such an amazing story. Exactly why country music is my absolute favorite
for me country should be able to mix both kinds of lines, why i love hardy
@@tylerkenmuir5899 I agree. He's a good singer, but he's a near perfect songwriter. His songs are fun to listen to in the background, but there's so much more to find when you listen closer.
I love the way this comment is worded
This is what country music should be. Relatable.
Couldn't agree more Bud!
Yep
Hardy, Wallen, and Combs are the future of country, and they all seem like real country boys who stay local and loyal. It really sucks about cancel culture tryin to get rid of Wallen though
I hope those three do a song together. Maybe even have Cody Johnson with those three do one.
Hardy Writes songs for all of them FYI
Aint gone work cause country boys cant be cancelled by city libtards!
Morgan can’t be canceled!!! He got back on the radio finally, saw him live this past weekend it was great, along with Hardy and Dierks Bentley
Combs is a sell out his name is off this list lol
Anyone who dislikes this probably drives a tundra
🤣😁💚 yes lol
I drive a tundra and it’s probable more badass than yours and your daddy’s truck
@@amanda05111 just a good joke. Cant say I've even drove or owned one. Better than the lamborfeeties or shoeburu's I walk 'round in, I know that much lol
Tundras are actually really solid trucks. Better than any new Ford, Chevy, or ram when it comes to quality.
@@amanda05111 city folk drive tundras
1:32 hit different
I wish we could post pictures on here. 86 Chevy K-10
You've made mississippi proud, I may be bias but I think you're totally gonna change country music for better. Your song writing skills are unmatched in any genre and range in your voice gives me chills! Keep it up please!
This is also written by Benjamin Johnson from Meridian, Ms.
❤🎉
1994 Chevrolet S10 SS One of 5,700 ever made. 284,763 miles and counting.🚬 Bought it in January 2015. It had 198,215 on It. Runs like a top.🚬
This is probably the best country song ever. Love it!!
You probably wont see this Hardy but you are amazing. You are bringing back to country what is slowly fading away, the true meaning of country. The beat that gets you taping your foot and the lyrics that you find yourself relating to......You will NO DOUBT be a legend. Your songs can make anyone, especially a country guy or girl, proud as hell that they are who they are. KEEP IT UP!!!!
The new pick up truck anthem. Hopefully for Hardy, a company will adopt this song in an ad campaign.
naw, semms like everybody woke now
Sounds like a Ram commercial.
You can’t beat pickup man I’m sorry
@@tracethompson9797 True
U can learn a lot about a man by his truck that's a fact
I'm not really sure but this made me cry like a baby. Too many great memories maybe. I love this song
I'm 36 miles from the closest town. I'm just a Farm boy. ;)
Seriously The Best Country Artist id say even THE NEW KING OF COUNTRY ❤❤❤❤
IM SO IN LOVE WITH HIS SONGS BRINGSBACK CLASSIC COUNTRY MEMORIES IN THE ARCTIC STABLES JUNEAU ALASKA 95'!! IM SO IN LOVE WITH YOUR HEART IN YOUR MUSIC!
This songs describes small town Iowa perfectly
Besides Jesus Hardy your my new best friend
Best artist in country music and I dare say all modern music not just is singing but writing as well
Wow, you get it too!
Man I love seeing all his fans appreciate how damn good his songwriting is. You listen to his song once and then every listen after you realize how clever he is with the wordplay. Glad to see this badass crushing the country music game!
Remains me of my 2 young men. They have been through so much. They have lost so many ppl to drugs and wrecks. But they are good ole country boys. They work hard and play hard!
I’m probably one million of the total views on this song. So damn good riding in the backcountry of Idaho in my little town ❤️
Idahome 👊🏼🫡
Hardy pretty big right now, but he’s gonna be huge. I’ve had enough Luke Bryan, FGL, Dan and Shay crap for a lifetime. Ryan Upchurch and Hardy are the only ones who actually represent what country really is. My opinion anyway.
I'm not saying this is a bad song. but this sounds exactly like a FGL song.
Nathan Jones you know he wrote a lot of FGL songs on last album?
and hank jr
@@320mkg haha yeah same producer as a lot of those FGL songs, but his rock based country just sounds way more authentic than what FGL puts out these days so I get Nathan's sentiment.
I agree, and regardless of him writing for FGL, he still has his own sound and I personally think its way more country rock than FGL has been doing. Hardy is pushing his way to the front and I love it!
For real
a group of girls had me make them a short country playlist for them, to understand what us country boys are about. I have this song as the last, so that when the leave they at least understand us by our trucks
Dude you got game
Heck yeah
Amazing (2023)
2:19
This is country rock at it's finest.. Good stuff man. If your best friend is Morgan Wallen then producing a fine country songs shouldn't be a surprise!
this is not country rock it is country pop music not rock
@@derekmorren tf are you smoking Meth?
@@derekmorren Nah you wrong
This man was a legend before he even started singing. Back when he was just writing songs
When you realize popularity is determined by the image of acceptable or 'relevant', popular = generic. Awesome = original.
This song is much better in a Ram 2500 😎
Let me get a ye ye yeee! And a Hell yeah! We’re waiting for another concert down in FL brother! @HARDY
Anyone who didn’t like this drinks o’duals *fake beer*, and drives a ridgeline
when the chorus starts it really sounds similar to fgl's dirt
Bro no joke when I heard that part I was like “where have I heard this before?” I think they have the same producer or something like that. I bets that’s why
Chaz Schott yep, joey moi
*compares hardy to FGL *no one liked that*
If I remember right, Hardy co-wrote Dirt
Who ever dislikes this song prolly drives a Honda ridge line
Makes me feel like I should live in Texas rather than Ohio cruising in my f350 jacked up powerstroke love them Texas trucks
92-2010 on my truck, I pray he found amazing grace. Pretty damn good friend. Miss ya like hell!!
Found this by accident. I want a truck now.
THIS SONG BOPS NEVER RELEASES A BAD SONG!
It does in fact, bop.
bops....
I love that this song is just a parody of country music.
I love this song❤
I’m a Mexican woman driving a Toyota listening to this song so loud in my little car. I love country music.
Lol 😂 is it atleast clean
This song perfectly describes my Silverado
You got the year right and everything. The 25th will be 10 years. Hope he’s giving heaven some hell 🤙💯
If theres numbers on the back 26-2010, you can be there's stories about my grandpappy that I can barely tell. Cuz i miss him like hell.
When Hardy says truck he isn't talking about a Honda Ridgeline. Mr. Hardy means a real truck!!
oh hell yeah
Love the song ❤ my grandpa has gmc truck and it’s real loud one time we were moving one of our tractors and it was so loud we had to yell just to talk to each other!!
Can’t wait for the music video for this
Well I'd say this song sums me up!
Do it Boys! Counrty Side...
THE COUNTY ON HIS TAG!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
this is my #1 favorite song
I immediately thought of my big brother, hes got a truck, its got dents, mud, stickers, a cross on the rearview, this song is like my big brother
I don't know how to explain your music it's kinda like pop, rock and country I love it .
Hardy is officially in my top 3 country singers 🤘
Same, Mine is HARDY, Chris Stapleton, Wallen.
Yah hardy
Tundra this
Love your song
If there's numbers on the back 92 to 2012 bet there's stories about his best friend he can barely tell because he misses him like hell!!!!
Playing truck songs till I buy a truck
Cowboy Ceronne used this for one of his "shorts" stories.
Love off-roading while listening to music
Here in Brazil we don have the big trucks that you have in US, but it is really you cant judge a book by his cover, but you can judge a country boy by his truck.
Lost as good buddy this month. I'll soon put a sticker 1998-2021 on my next truck.
Idont care when country swears, when he swears it has a lot more meaning than f*,f* imean (cuz he miissis hi mlike hell) thats deep
When my Jimmys finally on the road this songs goin full crank through town

Unreleased Music it’s crazy living in the town he grew up in cause I’ll be at the gas station or something and see his parents and it’s just like oh what’s up
Used to live in philly as well. Been in greenville since 2014 🥺
My boys (7&8) love this as much as my wife and I do. Thank you for making amazing music for people that live and want to live this life.
Can you PLEASE release a clean album as well?? It would be much appreciated!!! I’m DYING not being able to listen to this😭
So because he used a couple words that are not considered clean you can't listen to this song?
I have explicit content filtered out so it won’t let me listen to it bub. I'm just tryna be holy over here.
@@Eagle-on2nd I did not know that was a thing that was possible. It is a shame you can't listen to his music, he truly makes amazing music (I feel that the profanity does actually make it better though because it is a word or 2 for emphasis, unlike some of the modern music that is 99% profanity).
@@tylerperlenfein Yeah I get what you're sayin
I love my 05 ram its a great truck
My hub sold his to pay for my surgery n I pray he has enough this coming round tax season to get a new one was so sad he sold it pissed me off really but he didnt wanna lose me 😭 just pray he has enough to get another one
Would love to see Luke Combs and Hardy do a song
Yes
Different vibes tho it’d have to be the right song
This really makes me think of my dad 😂😂
This guy is the next mega-country star, mark my words.......the likes we have not seen in 30 years or so. Hell, I ain't even country, just a mere "southern" boy, but I totally recognize what I'm hearing from this guy. Can't wait for his next release to see if he gets better.....his music is already so good. I think he has the potential to turn country on it's head and shake everything up. Just imagine if he cranks out eight albums this good or better? .
Hell yeah!! One of us. This man knows he's been there done this!!
This CAPE BRETON, NOVA SCOTIAN, CANADIAN GIRL LUVSSSSSSS HARDY
I love country music and I listen to this every day and night in the morning I always the at night it puts me to sleep
Yayayayayayayayaayayay
I hate that his show got canceled here in Louisville I luv this man!!!
Nice tune @Hardy hope to meet you April 20 in Chattanooga!
Bought a piece of land and looking forward to rolling back to Tennessee for retirement....Michael Hardy is from Mississippi, but he sings everything that was my early years....Both of my kids went to school in Mississippi and they have a special culture down that way that only a country boy can understand.
You are the best Hardy
I woke up an hour ago and have listened to this like 15 times
Lmao
I got a 1969 f250 2wd but this song is a wonderful description
I honestly thought, "not another truck song" then I listened. Very well done!
Love this song! Love the lyrics! Thank you Hardy wish you could see my Truck
I love his song so much!!!!!!!
You can judge a country boy by many things, if his hat is raised in the back and lower in the front, prolly a country f boy
New to country love this song
Okay I will admit a sad truth my first time listening to any of his music and I'm hooked. Love this song. Really connectable lyrics
Chi-Town Gangsta Bumping This SUPER LOUD! Turning Heada for sure!!! Love This!!! Just saw him in PHX With JASON ALDEAN!
