Lyrics:
If it’s cleaned up shined up pedal down on main
You can bet he’s picking up some pretty country thing
If it’s covered up in red mud with a worn out warn wench
There’s a good chance that that man is a pretty damn good friend
If there’s horns in back there’s a gun in the front
If there’s dents on the side he ain’t scared of nothin
And if a twelve pack’s in the passenger seat
Well he probably worked his ass off all week
Yeah
Somewhere way out there in any given town
There’s a red, white and blue collared driving his around
Turning heads and burning tread and stirring up dust clouds
Like a shine hauling outlaw yeah I’m talking bout his truck
His dash, the county on his tag, the song on his radio
The stickers on his glass
From four bys to two bys its true you can’t judge
A book by its cover but you can judge a country boy by his truck
If there’s a silver cross hanging off his dusty ‘ol rearview
It’s safe to say he’s found amazing grace a time or two
If there’s numbers on the back 92 to 2012
Bet there’s stories bout his best friend that he can barely tell
Cause he misses him like hell
Somewhere way out there in any given town
There’s a red, white and blue collared driving his around
Turning heads and burning tread and stirring up dust clouds
Like a shine hauling outlaw yeah I’m talking bout his truck
His dash, the county on his tag, the song on his radio
The stickers on his glass
From four bys to two bys its true you can’t judge
A book by its cover but you can judge a country boy by his truck
If there’s horns in back there’s a gun in the front
If there’s dents on the side he ain’t scared of nothin
If a twelve pack’s in the passenger seat
Well he probably worked his ass off all week
Yeah
Somewhere way out there in any given town
There’s a red, white and blue collared driving his around
Turning heads and burning tread and stirring up dust clouds
Like a shine hauling outlaw yeah I’m talking bout his truck
His dash, the county on his tag, the song on his radio

  • “If there’s numbers to 92-2012 bet there’s stories of his best friend that he can barely tell” lives true. My uncle passed away in 2011 in a shooting and he died instantly. I like to look at his truck that’s in our drive and just think about him. Love this song ❤

  • This song speaks volumes to anyone who owns a truck. I have my great grandpas 89 F150 4x4 that he had from almost new. I still got his pocket knife and his "I voted" stickers. This truck means more to me than most people realize and it is a symbol of who I am like this song says. Thankyou Hardy for making this masterpiece of a song.

    • That's awesome. Start accumulating spare parts because the government in the next decade will most likely start pushing people to leave gas powered engines. When that happens there will be a rush on all types of vehicles and all types of parts for stockpiling or spares before they are Impossible to find. The government might also force OEM and third-party manufacturers to stop making aftermarket parts to compel people to abandon gas powered vehicles of all types. Just food for thought since that truck is so important to you. .

    • @@Eagle-on2nd I did not know that was a thing that was possible. It is a shame you can't listen to his music, he truly makes amazing music (I feel that the profanity does actually make it better though because it is a word or 2 for emphasis, unlike some of the modern music that is 99% profanity).

  • This guy is the next mega-country star, mark my words.......the likes we have not seen in 30 years or so. Hell, I ain't even country, just a mere "southern" boy, but I totally recognize what I'm hearing from this guy. Can't wait for his next release to see if he gets better.....his music is already so good. I think he has the potential to turn country on it's head and shake everything up. Just imagine if he cranks out eight albums this good or better? .

  • Bought a piece of land and looking forward to rolling back to Tennessee for retirement....Michael Hardy is from Mississippi, but he sings everything that was my early years....Both of my kids went to school in Mississippi and they have a special culture down that way that only a country boy can understand.
