Not to bash the company it looks nice and all but I just got an Eonon unit and it came with back up camera, the apple car play, the adapter for the code reader/gauges/fault codes for free. The packaging was a lot nicer from eonon the installation guide that came with was very detailed and labelled everything.. like I said not trying to bash the company you got just letting people know other options.. great video awesome details

Hi Joni, I bought my XTRONS unit back in May 2017. It runs on Android 6 Marshmallow. I use AGAMA Car Launcher available in the Play Store as my launcher & it is highly customizable. Since installing this unit in my 2004 325ci I have not had a single issue....nothing! It's run flawlessly from day one. I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot to run all my apps.. Spotify, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Google Maps, Waze, KZhead & other apps. The unit boots up super fast & is ready to go within a few seconds of starting my car. I live in the Chicago area & my 3 is always parked outside in my driveway. Over the last 3 years the unit has been exposed to extreme temperatures from days where the temp was below zero to days where it was well over 100 & the thing always worked perfectly. I have other cars I drive so my 3 may sit for a couple weeks without being started & there is absolutely no parasitic battery drain from the XTRONS. It has been very reliable & really gives the car an updated look & feel. The one & only complaint I have is that if the sun is shining thru the rear window directly on the screen you cannot see it due to the glare. I imagine if you have tinted windows this won't be an issue. The newer version is currently on Amazon for $289. This is an unbelievable value for what you get! Get one...you won't regret it 👍

this head unit is garbage. the only one worth getting for an e46 is the avin. If you can afford it do not waste your time with eonon.
This isn't Eon, in fact Eon doesn't even offer this style. Don't knock it until you try it bud.

I got a similar "flagship" xtrons for my 01 allroad, works alright sometimes needs a hard reset because it's China stuff but overall it's pretty good
Bought mine a month or so ago with this head. VERY modern. I use the Torque app with the OBDII connector, TPMS (more tire info than high end OEM) and will install backup camera. BTW…CarPlay runs wireless. I can skip between iTunes, XM and KZhead Music right on the screen thru the phone. You’re right…makes the car look 2021 OEM as ever without all the safety stuff these days.

For the ones that have cassete and cd radio theres a Trim that can be bought on Bmw to acomodate the climate control that goes down .

Nice Vid! Couple of questions: Have you noticed any lag while navigating using apple maps or google maps on carplay? And do you have any lag issues when making phone calls using Carplay? I have a similar unit (not xtrons) and its laggy on those points. Cheers!

The code to access the factory settings for Xtrons PQ8046BL is 126. You’ll need this to change the radio region which appears to be set to Europe. You’ll know when you realize your AM radio jumps in intervals of 9 instead of 10.

Love the channel and been following since you got the M2 but how did it SOUND?!!? Big difference from the older unit without DSP?? Probably a make or break for alot of people since most of us are not gonna be going through those tablet features when cruising but appreciate the walk through!

I'm currently debating on 9-in unit or 8.8. are you planning on going from 9-in unit to 8.8 any specific reason why you want to change to little smaller screen unit ?
@@TAspeed1 because it more factory looking and not that extremely small screen too. that was my concern, however, I sold my e46 and I no longer have the opportunity to change it :)

How did you get that one to work because I got the 9 inch version for my 330ci and both of the units when I plugged them in it didnt work so I just ordered the eonon one which is probably just as good. The xtrons one that i got were both octacore which lead me to get it over the quadcore eonon one but having trouble plugging it in and starting it I was tired of it. Also the rep that I emailed told me to connect the red aac line and the yellow B+ line which I did and in the first unit it turned on and then died on me and the second unit didnt even turn on.
did this head unit ever sit flush with the trim up top?? ready to pull the trigger but that small gap would discourage me

Most Xtron units look like Eunavi which are also cheaper so now im asking myself which one to buy cause at the same price you can buy a more powerfull Eunavi but Xtrons looks so much presentable.

Great video. I've got a bmw e46 couple with business cd player..really tempted to get this head unit. Does the GPS sensor work in the glove box or did you place it somewhere else? Also,how's your Android USB dongle? Alot of negative reviews on Amazon. Thanks.
GPS sensor works fine in the glove box, never had to move it. I haven't used the USB dongle for Android auto much. But when i use it, it seems to work fine.
Thanks for your reply..glad to read that the GPS sensor works in glove box. I've installed a few aftermarket head units from reputable companies/brands in cars in the past and at some point they've always had issues or malfunctioned..I'm hoping that if I buy this it won't malfunction.

I think the prices for most of the direct fit units are crazy beyond that other then gps what use is a double din radio
Biggest benefit is if you want a rear-view camera upgrade - which is the biggest plus for getting one and is a must have these days.

Screen is super responsive just like my iPhone. Make sure you buy the wireless car play dongle so you don’t even need to hook ur phone up. I’ve tried every other head unit and by far the Eonon is the best.

There's a 2002 e46 what I can buy cheap it's kinda beat up but used for drifting it's got the roll cage and bucket seats and stuff but not sure what it's like engine wise and how it runs if it does but it's like £500 and has had some stuff done to is from what I can see should I buy it il obviously check it out first but it would be a first car

Xtrons Model PQ8046BL - the password to get to the factory settings is 126. You'll need it to change the Region code of your unit. Mine was programmed for Europe from the factory. You will want to change it to your appropriate Region code for the radio to work properly.

How did you go about getting xtron as and sponsor?
I have the previous xtrons unit with the HK package in my e46. The sound quality is obviously a bit worse. With “loudness” turned on, the sub is stuck on. With it off, it sounds pretty flat overall(cannot be fixed with eq adjustments). Is this the same case with this unit??
The DPS add-on makes the audio top notch on this unit.

This one comes prewired for 360 cameras, including the backup one. Just gotta buy the accesories.

Yes I replaced/upgraded my turbos. For a high mileage 335i it's probably a good idea to get the oem ones swapped out.

I-BUS is integrated with the main harness.

Do yiu have after market sub and amp? If so, where did you connect the remote from amp. Also, did yiu have issues with all speakers not working properly
@@LIONKING1103 its not set up right with the digital audio. So in the truck with factory amp i spiced in the the rear speakers and sub. Wired them to a dual channel amp. Then ran them out from that. Cause if u use the box you dont get front and rear speakers. Just which ever one u plug the aux in too. So you have to pick one then splice in to them at the amp with a different amp. I left front speakers on the factory amp. Then put rear and sub on the dual channel.
@@Bwp110 i don't have the hk factory speakers. My sub and amp have power and I ran sub to rca's in back of head unit. Im confused on where to wire remote wire from amp. Also, not all oem mids are working properly. Passenger front tweeter is low also. Don't know why they advertise plug in play if it truly isn't!!!
Yeah i delt with it too. Thats why i just wired in to the speakers. With an amp and rca. There is a acc power on the radio i use for power for the amp.
