I'll argue that he's still underutilized by Minnesota. He's an incredibly efficient and versatile scorer both in isolation and in set plays, while being a very good passer for a big man. Minnesota has the perimeter talent to back him up as well, but for some reason we don't run p&r's or handoffs enough. He should also be taking 20+ shots every game with how good of a scorer he is. Even in our current defensive scheme he's used to hedge the screen which loses KAT's rebounding and stationary rim protection, but I can't complain that much since we're an above average defense now. I wish Finch finds a way to maximize him on this end as well somehow.
Adding the 3 time defensive player of the year will help. KAT can now focus on being a unicorn on offense. DLo and Rudy can be the foundation. Ant and KAT can be the architecture

I feel like if you gave someone who never watched basketball before only highlight reels to judge players on, no averages or numbers of any kind, just watching this and others’ reels, they’d probably assume Towns is like a top 5 player of all time. This all looks absurd for a big man lmao. Theres some quick powerful drives, long range fast release shots, power in the low post, and can put the ball on the floor with real speed in the open court. He even has a lot of nice passes in there. Just seems like an offensive god at his size watching this, almost like some overpowered created video game character.
I can assure you that’s true, I watched my first nba game back in 2017/18 season and it was a wolves game, I instantly fell in love with kat game. I really thought that he was one of the best player in the nba at the time, but now is kinda true😂
Except KAT *is* a god. Sports media and haters say otherwise, and they’re wrong. He can win MVP this next year with Rudy doing the dirty work down low

The Timberwolves are finally turning the corner this year. 40-30 record, currently 7th in the west, with the 3rd-4th youngest roster in the league. They will likely only get better as they grow and mature
@@matthewsamonte1083 He just entered his prime? An athlete's prime is normally from age 25-32 and then they maintain a high level of play for about 2-3 years before they start to deteriorate. Minnesota has done some really stupid stuff during his career so far, but they finally have a direction and a bright future now. KAT now has his best friend Dlo as his point gaurd. Anthony Edwards is the secondary star who is only 20 years old and has limitless potential. And the Timberwolves brought in an amazing coach in Chris Finch who has been utilizing all the players on the roster to the best of their abilities. I'd honestly say in just 2 years they can be a title contender if they keep this core together. Why would KAT want to leave all this???
