The more I've watched their fight over, the more I think Alex was building on the feet. Finding Izzy more & more. His punches, kicks, body work added up. This is a huge mountain for Izzy to climb.
after knowing and seeing the result, you can see him getting closer and closer to it on rewatch. multiple times he corraled him towards the cage and barely missed on his kill shots. its because of how slick izzy is with his evasive maneuvers, that AP's attacks didnt seem as effective in real time.

Izzy might have slipped up and spilled the game plan. He said put him on his back and back tracked real quick. The way I see it you can neutralize power by taking the fight to the ground. Much like francis did with Gane. Neither guy is skilled in that area so if Izzy trained for it he could try to win by surprise. I think the leg kicks were the difference in the last fight. Izzy got a taste of his own medicine there

When izzy says he made it easy for him… accurate. Alex didn’t need to fight the same opponents. Dana saw a money making opportunity and didn’t want to ruin it. It played out nicely due to Alex winning. Izzy winning this time helps the rivalry even more for future financial gain.
Izzys already 0-3 against Alex. Game over how exactly? Losing doesn't end your career. Will he get another rematch? Probably not but he'll still have plenty of other things to do in the fight game. He hasn't shown any signs of declining physically and he can still have plenty of fights. He'll continue to make money which is honestly just as important as being a champ.

The idea that "it's over" if he loses to one guy twice is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long while. Pereira will definitely move up to LHW very soon. Izzy will very likely just become champ again the moment that happens. Until then, there are other fights for him outside of Pereria. Obviously. It takes an ultra dummy to think "it's over"
When Izzy lost I was so happy cause I know he will fight to get the title back like he fought when he was a rising contender. After becoming the champ he was stalling a lot of times cause he was up in rounds/points. Whosoever wins it’s going to be a banger!

Alex is just a matchup nightmare for Izzy. Izzy is big for the division but Alex is a monster how he makes weight I have no idea. He’s a tank that prefers stand up and keeps marching forward. Izzy usually wins by keeping distance and landing good strikes. Well that’s hard to do with an opponent that’s just as dangerous if not more and can take your best shots. Izzy also usually has reach advantage which he doesn’t have against Alex.
