I love your take on the classic log reindeer. This kicks things up a notch, with a more proportional neck and beveled cuts for the ears and tail. I’ve been puzzling over how to improve the design of the front and back legs, keeping my eyes open for crotched mid-size branches that bend in the appropriate direction. Thank you for sharing. 🇨🇦

Awesome! I wish we had birch to build one from, but oak should work too. It’s definitely made to last

I find your approach and result a "cut above" the others I've seen. I'm planning to make a set for my small shaded woodland garden. Thank you for the inspiration! Oh! I almost forgot. The elf segment is priceless. :)

I used standard #8 - 2 1/2 and #8 - 3" deck screws (drill bit 1/8"). I also used a 1/2" drill bit for the tail and 1/2" round wood dowels cut in 2" lengths. Legs are around 24" long and 2" in diameter and I drilled 2" holes in the reindeer body to attach legs. Body is around 20" long and approx. 8" in diameter, head is 10x6", tail and ears are 2" in diameter.
