  • What an outstanding rural station. It is well maintained. Most enjoyable video!

  • Class 484s and other similar 2 coach units are a lot like Annie and Clarabel, isn't it?

  • Reinstating the passing loop and reopening the 2nd platform at Brading seemed a good idea, as an even 30-minute service could be run again; when it was taken out, the idea was to run a 20- minute service, and the remaining passing loops were in the right places to facilitate this, however the number of serviceable 483's (ex 1938 Stock trains) soon fell below the required number, resulting in a 20/40 minute headway for a number of years!! Now that they've got the Brading loop back, however, they seem content just to run an hourly service, and when there were two an hour, only one was continuing up to the Pier Head! Who knows what the future holds? Only God does, I feel. At least the trains look fairly modern now, despite having been around since the late 70's/early 80's, and no more bumpy rides!!

    • When the D Stock are life expired (~10years) the line really should be converted to a tramway. the tunnel at Ryde could be avoiding with street running and extensions to Ventor, Newport and Cowes would be much more feasible
