Review of the Bobby Bizz backpack I bought and why I'm personally not using it.
Not my usual git video, I'm working on submodules and that should be ready to go in two weeks. But I wanted a bit of a break from the norm.

Looking back on this video, omg the video quality, I respect you guys for sitting through it. You're all amazing!
Super helpful review. You saved me a fair chunk of money, thanks man.
I appreciate this honest review. It was very helpful when you explained the reasons why this bag didn’t work for you. I’m looking for a small backpack that can store under the seat in front on the airplane as well as function as my everyday carry once we reach our destination. Easy access is key for travelling and anti-theft features are key for the everyday carry function. I was looking at a different Bobby backpack but couldn’t find any reviews in English for that specific model. After watching your review, I suspect the bag I was looking at would have the same issues regarding access. My search continues. Thanks again for your review.
Finding the right backpack is an ongoing quest, my current daily carry is the Peak Design Everyday backpack. But that might be too easy to open for many.
Completely agree with what you said that it's hard to open. I love the design and functionality but ultimately the main reason why I gave up on it was because of how hard it was get stuff from it on the go. But, to be fair, it did save me once from a pickpocket.
That's the point of it lol
@@satoshinakamoto7253 i understand what you are saying. It was designed to give thieves a hard time opening it. The only problem is, it's also making it hard for the owner to open it. It was so hard that i messed up the zipper when trying to open the damn thing. Finding a shop to have it repaired
Cable: use a short USB C cable to attach to the USB plug. I leave one in the pocket. Zips - tight but easy up after a month. Close to the frame so always tight compared to ones on the side or more exposed. Access:: with the side flaps it can be partly opened to get inside without the content falling out. I have found it easy enough to get to all the pockets and no different to other cases. Pockets: without fasteners so heavy content will slide out when moving from backpack to brief case mode. I only carry thin light items in them. Carrying more: I usually have a folderable tote that take next to no room and can carry 30 litres. I added Velcros to the zip around liner on the inside and dividers for camera gear. I can get in and change lenses, remove the Gorilla tripod without the content moving around. A Side-by-side pouch for all the small items so I don't have to dig around other pockets. Alternatives are Tom Bihn Tristar, QWSTION Office, Hackpack and there are a number of others that convert with a suit case style opening.
Some really useful tips, thanks for sharing!
I got the original Bobby and the Bobby Urban. I love'em :)
Do you think that Bobby urban fits a PS5? Do you think that Bobby urban is too hard to get the things inside?
Although your arguments might be valid for you, they are not so true for everyone. You want an anti-theft backpack but you also want quick acces to get stuff out? Yeah, that doesn't make sense. For groceries you should just get a different bag. The acces while in the train; well, I'll give you that one.
I thought I wanted an anti-theft backpack but in reality that didn't work for me in practice. That was the lesson I learned and what the video is about. I'm sure Bobby Bizz did more market research than me, I would hope so. But this video is just my experience, my ego isn't nearly big enough to think it was gospel on backpacks. :D
haha exactly
Completely agree with this. I bought mine several years ago and I've not used it once. Somehow missed the return window... It was oversold on design but actually the design is so flawed it's terrible.
I saw pickpocket in action in front of my eyes, while commute with public train in Paris. They don't care if people around is looking. So yes this backpack is for people who have a huge concern about their belongings, such laptop that cost more than USD1,000, important data, etc.
True, if I only needed the backpack for travel on the Amsterdam Subway to work, accessibility would rank lower then anti-theft measures. I'm mostly going at it from my experience with Dutch train commute where you can sit, have a table and want to access the bag during the ride, same for airplanes where access during flight might rank higher than the inconvenience of having it in front of you during the trip to and from the airport.
Should try Pacsafe
Nice video loveya
This cable is easy to remove lol. Just bought that bobby. Hope i wont be disappointed.
Yeah, it wasn't for me, hope it's a perfect fit for you!
Hello, thanks for the review! I hasve a 17.3 inch laptop which is about 39.4x28.5 centimeters. Could you please tell me if my laptop can fit in the laptop pocket of this briefcase? I know the standard is for 15.6 inches but I read somewhere that the pocket is big enough for some 17 inch laptops. Thank you !
I sold the backpack years ago else I would have measured. From what I remember it's not as flexible as a regular backpack meaning that chances are high the 17.3 won't fit. If you're really set on this one I would recommend getting from somewhere with a good return policy to try it out.
Thanks for the video, i think i finally made up my mind now, its gonna be a no for me :) good explenations on why you didnt use the backpack
Which model of Samsonite do you use? :)
Had to search a bit to find the exact model, I have been using it for years already. shop.samsonite.com/samsonite-gt-supreme-laptop-backpack-15.6/640361050.html?rrec=true
Thanks, This is good video. I can guess what will be uncomfy to me. but now I wonder, so, what's your bag now instead of this bag?
Currently Peak Everyday Carry, but haven't gotten to testing it extensively yet because I'm home the last couple of months.
Tools on Tech Aha, Okay, I'm just looking for a comfortable bag for my shoulder and back.. My laptop is so heavy. If you find really good and comfortable back later, please make a review video again. (of course after when we can go out finally) cuz you looks so honest and you are making a good video for customers not for company. I like it. Thank you again.
@@jiaeeeful If your laptop is heavy I would recommend searching for a backpack with a hip belt, helps a lot to move weight from your back to your hips. If I find or hear about something affordable I'll be sure to do a video on it.
Tools on Tech wow you are so kind. Thank you a lot for the tips. XD
@@jiaeeeful this bizz is actually very comfortable to me. But however do try it before buying it. I tested it and compared to bobby hope and other brands. It is comfy.
Did you gibe it to a person?? You can semd it through tp South Africa to me
It's already given away sorry
I am looking at this now 3 years later and they are still using usb-a for their backpacks. Everybody is using usb-c right now. This does not make any sense to me.
Passthrough would have been more future proof for sure. Or a way to replace the usb port.
Good Lord, that's because it's anti-theft
My current backpack has anti theft and is better designed. And I didn't say it was a bad feature, but it was a bad feature for me.
It’s a security bag, this is why it opens the way it does. If you wanted a regular bag for simple access then it wouldn’t be a safety bag 🙈🤪🤦🏻♂️
It's been a long time since I made that video, but didn't I mention that in the video? I believe the Verdict on that was that the security features are great if you need the bag to travel between a to b, but the way its setup it doesn't work if you need frequent access during travel like with public transport. Something I personally underestimated when I got it, hence the video 😏
@@toolsontech I think the point he was making was that if you prioritize accessibility you shouldn't have purchased a safety bag in the first place.
@@turkeykaiser I know that now, but that was after I bought the back. I made the video to help other people avoid the mistake.
... 1st world problems Very funny humans
this company not mention where the products made from (actually in mainland china) and told me it is Not important to mention! WTF the company even not main when the products made in.
This looks like a school kids bag:(
Yeah, one of the reasons I didn't use it. If I'm going for an "official" look, this isn't it
Hello, this is exactly my concern as well.. Do you mind telling me what backpack/briefcase you are using now?
