A type of advent calendar I just discovered is a rock collection one! You get a mineral specimen a day and a whole collection by the end. Such a blast!
Honestly, if I was a kid and got that calendar, I'd be so freaking disappointed. Not only are most of the items just stickers, but the stickers are really meh in design and if they all have the same texture, then they're even more boring... In addition to that, 2 of the days are just an extra charm to change the ones already on the dolls... An Lastly, so many of the fidget toys are just pop its?! Absolute trash calendar...

I feel like Mrs. Bench with these mystery/advent boxes really needs to focus on more variety. Who wants that many pop it's and that many accessories?
I have to agree with others that this wasn't our usual Jackie reviewing this calendar. A perfect example is at 18:40 this would be when the salty graphic usually would be, it was day 14 the 2nd charm, basically 2 filler days with an item that is already attached to the doll that we don't need. She goes over the box details at 2:04 and how it is misleading at the end of the video: Includes wording on the front of the box: * Fashion Fidget Dolls * Fidget Accessories * Sensory Stickers Includes wording on the back of the box: * 2 Dolls * 14 Toys * 8 Stickers Jackie is clear at the end of the video that you get the following in this advent calendar: * 2 Dolls * 6 Toys (there are duplicates so she counts it as 6, I very much agree with this) * Those remaining 2 toys would be the charms / key chains for your dolls which already come with them attached, so they are duplicates. You can see this at 4:24 day 1 and 17:36 day 13. * 8 Stickers (they are not sensory stickers, just stickers and they don't have a theme to them which she mentions often) Jackie says this calendar is worth your money because of the dollar value which is $25; you get the 2 dolls and 6 toys. The fidget dolls are $9.99 normally, currently on sale for $7.99 and are a mystery so just like this calendar you have no choice. The rest of the calendar though you would have a choice in what you put in your kids calendar. So for me, I don't know if I would say it is worth your money. My child being disappointed over getting a charm they don't need or a sticker that isn't sensory or worse case a meltdown because many children doing this are special needs, NOT WORTH it for me. Each day should be special, especially the last day, as special as the doll days no, but special. Regarding Jackie’s review I think it was mostly like her normal reviews. It was very thorough, what was missing was the graphics, the saltiness where is should have been like at 18:40 and in her final conclusion. So I do hope when she does more of these we get that back, I missed it on this one. Love you Jackie, but got to be honest.

agree this box seams like a rip as it seams the buyer is really paying for the dolls, the 2 attachments are not for the dolls there for the duo popers as they didnt come with ones.
she seemed a bit... subdued. i wonder if she's unwell. it is winter. i know i'm only somewhat arthritic with heart problems and not even where she is and it's been uncomfortable. i can not imagine how bad it is for her right now. and we're only Just into winter.
I actually prefer advent calendars that aren't a cohesive activity! I've always seen them more as "here's a present every day" than a set thing to do unless it's stated otherwise. I also don't mind repeats as long as they look different; specifically because they didn't say "14 different toys", just 14 in general. That said, considering charms as toys/gifts was a little strange, and they could make the rings better for sure.
I think that a cute idea they could have done with the stickers would have been something like In-n-Out does and make a little postcard type thing that has a special spot for each sticker so that after the 24 days, you could hang it up or keep it on your desk for the sensory effect. Would have been so much better!!

I never expected cohesiveness with calendars as a kid, just a fun toy everyday- usually would end up losing half of them by the 24th, I wouldn’t consider them ever needing to come together as one thing in the end unless it states so on the box, calls it a play set like Lego and crayola
I'm very disappointed with this calendar. I wasn't expecting 24 dolls but I thought I would get 3-4, which would have made me happier than just 2. I also would have been happier if there were actual accessories for the dolls like the Santa hat on the box. Not just stickers and repetitive fidgets. I was actually tempted to buy it because I've been wanting to buy those fidget dolls. But at this point, very much not worth it.
why disappointed? The box says exactly what is included right on it. You were expecting it to be something it never claimed to be
To be fair the box said it included 2 dolls, and it was only $25. The dolls are normally $10 each
To me..the dollies are duds. I prefer a basic fidget advent calendar. 💜
I very much agree with you on making the accessories more inclusive. I've always had big hands and none of the rings or even some bracelets would fit me, even though I was right in the target age range. For the bracelets I would probably tie strings to the end and have the buyer cut the strings and tie it where its comfortable. Rings are a bit harder to do that way but it's possible. Edit cause it just came to mind: Make the strings ribbons with fun textures or patterns on it. I loved messing with ribbons as a kid.
It’s the opposite for me! My fingers are too thin to fit any standard sized rings. For reference my pinky is just a bit bigger than the width of a no. 2 pencil
They repeated everything in the exact same order 😂 The same amount of days away from the doll the ring was found the first time is the same as the second doll. For example, the first mochi was on day 12 and the other mochi was found on day 24. Wow

Watching this, I felt that this advent calendar was basically two 12-day calendar put one after the other, like everything came in pairs.
I think for me personally, I’d be totally a bit salty to open a fidget toy advent calendar like that one but instead open a Pokémon because I grew up watching it as a little kid 🥰🥰🥰🥰
With calendars/sets with doubles like this, they should be advertised as "share with a friend" type products. That way each friend or sibling gets one of each thing
I see these calendars each year Jackie reviews them and buy my cheap, one piece of chocolate a day calendar and am content with my money's worth of daily cheer. But if Jackie were to swoop in with a Not Another Crap Calendar filled with Christmas themed fidget toys, I'd buy that without hesitation. Just saying. (I know taking ideas from fans can be iffy so this is a sentence saying that I will not pursue legal action if you use this idea. Love you.)
Of course this comes up the exact day after I bought two of these 🤣 Been eyeing them at our Aldi for about a month now and was hoping to see you review before purchasing, but they were half off when I went yesterday so I caved. Watching this I really wish there was more variety and better "sensory stickers", but my kids lost their minds yesterday so for $12.50 I'd say they were worth it!

Day 2 is my day and really? Really? I get that charm? 💔💔💔 The little mochis were the best additions and I found the rest to be sadly disappointing. Mrs Bench is not best served here, sadly and the two of you could come up with an AMAZING advent calendar for next year 😉😘💜♥.
I wouldn't even call it a charm... it is a handle. I think they put that one in there in case you wanted a pink handle for the pink and white doll. matchy matchy.. BUT... when you consider the cost of the entire box.... I am not surprised at all that they did that.

The dolls are $6 on Amazon… I think they are worth 6, not 10. To each their own. It’s still not much money for the daily present opening experience. I just wanted everyone to know they don’t have to spend so much for one doll.

I disagree about nobody caring about being able to change the straps, I've always loved having different keychains and being able to swap them to match colors lol however, I do think they should come in the same spot as the doll, not separately as its own day, that is in fact a filler and a waste of space 😔
I think the extra hangers were for the double pops. They had a tiny hole for the hangers to be attached. Still lame they came as a separate item... twice... instead of being put with whichever toy they were intended to go with.
The keychain thingy is propably for the fidgets that can hang but dont have one. Like the simple dimple things. ❤️

When you mentioned sensory stickers, it got me thinking - have you tried Calm Strips? They're a textured sticker that can be moved around and placed in different spots, they have a couple different shapes and textures, and you can get metal keychains to put them on to take them on the go - I have one of each texture on a strip keychain at work :)

I do agree that this was not a very good idea for an advent calendar. I can see the theme behind the things, though - you get a doll and then the colors of the items are meant to fit the doll, the stickers are kinda like their accessories, telling you about their personalities. The issue here is the perfect repetion of all the twelve items. Once you took out the second doll, the charm and the ring, I realized - oh, we are getting all the items in the same order, just in different colors. And so the mystery was ruined for the rest of the calendar. The 'sensory' stickers were indeed pretty disappointing too, I also expected to see some texture.

I love your reviews! They are so nice and companies should be listening. If they stop selling cheap garbage just to make a profit, they will find they'll loose customers. People are willing to pay for quality items. They need to stop letting choosing beggars dictate cost and quality.

for the most part, the stickers were cohesive because they're meant to be artsy... the phone may not be 100% like the paint brushes and the paint palette but it's supposed to represent taking artsy pictures on your phone, hence the really pretty painted like picture on the phone's screen. I understand some things were disappointing or unnecessary but I'm just pointing out there is a cohesiveness.

You can get a whole sheet of stickers like that for $1-2 from dollarama. They’re just regular puff stickers there’s absolutely nothing unique or special about them. I also agree the ring could use a redesign and I hate non-size inclusive wearables. Even as a kid I found them tiny and only fit like really young kids. The blue 2 pop-it was my birth date

I believe that the other two charms aren't for changing out but for hanging on the simple dimples so you can hang them on something like a purse or backpack to take with you.

I think they included those clips cause alot of people love the clicky snappy sound they can make I also agree with ya on this it was a bit of a let down..not too too much of one but I seen better looking fidget poppers at big lots...the big lots I went to has an entire lil section dedicated to themed fidget poppers..since its close to Christmas in the u.s they are Christmas theme and all non themed fidget toys are in the toy section..if you have a big lots by you please check them out Edited: you can be sweet and salty at the same time and I feel this is the perfect mixture of salt and sprinkles

I know there is such a thing as a sticker journal (?) and they have pictures of rooms/tables/models and you get stickers depending on the theme your parents got, so you arrainge them accordingly, like what clothes will a model wear or what furniture will this room have. I feel they could have offered such an activity with these sticker.

You were way harsher on the Play-Doh calendar. The single sticker on a lot of the days is such a let down at this price point. Is this because of your personal relationship with the TikTok creator?
I think the 2 extra key chains are for the Pop its as they have a hole on them. I agree that they shouldn't have their own door but they do serve a purpose. You could also use that Key chain to put the ring and bracelet on if they don't fit your finger or wrist.

That could be a good advent calendar for two siblings or friends to share. Every family does not have enough money to buy two advent calendars. Since there are at least two of each type of item neither child would get jealous. Otherwise, that advent calendar is a pretty meh experience with how many doubles you get.

When I was a little grain, back in the 80s, Advent Calendars were just paper, and when you opened the door they had Bible versus leading up to Christmas. And if you didn't rip the door you could use it again the next year. In the 90s my grandmother got us one that had chocolate behind the doors (had to share it with my brother) and we still opened the Bible verse one too each night. Day 17 here - I'm okay with the Monkey Noodle, green is my favorite colour.
It would be really cool to see you make your own salty advent calendar. I feel like this one is OK if you buy it on sale, I don't think I would pay full price
the sensory stickers need much help, there are so so many variations of them, but one thing I'm curious is... are those like the ones that can change colour when you wet them? , we have those here and we mail them as gifts cause they be so cool. We had one like the colour pallette that when you wet it it had watercolour effect
