CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The Colonel (Lee Marvin) and his men move in stealth and take back the plane from the terrorists.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In the very successful first appearance of several "Delta Force" action films that continued into the early '90s, this non-stop, flag-waving advocate for covert violence over diplomatic negotiations is not for those who favor gun control. Based on the real incident of a hijacking of a TWA plane in Athens that was successfully negotiated to a conclusion, this fictional version has the covert Delta Force leader Colonel Nick Alexander (Lee Marvin) team up with Major Scott McCoy (Chuck Norris) to conquer the bad guys by violence.

TM & © MGM (1986)

Lee Marvin was a great actor and when he passed away, because he was in the military, they gave him full military honors. R. I.P Lee Marvin

Watched this movie like 100 times as a kid 😂😂😂😂
I used to watch Delta force and still do when chuck Norris walk the dirt bike and shot those mens
Same here
What child likes to watch wars and military?
@@tylerbushell2333 A lot unsurprisingly. In this case I can’t blame them, the movie is awesome! It’s action fantasy nonsense, but there is an interesting basis in reality for the events of the film, which made it feel more grounded and believable than it should be considering that the real Delta Force probably don’t drive around on motorbikes with missiles attached to them! 🤣 It’s great stuff regardless!
About Lee Marvin: He served with the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific Theater during WW2 and we was wounded in action on June 18, 1944, during the assault on Mount Tapochau in the Battle of Saipan. He was hit by machine gun fire, which severed his sciatic nerve, and then was hit again in the foot by a sniper. Marvin was a corporal but was busted back to private for troublemaking.
He loved to drink
@@AndyP998 How dare he.
"Marvin was a corporal but was busted back to private for troublemaking." Sounds like a good Marine.
Lee Marvin is the only man in history to fire an Uzi using the iron sights.
he didn't even flinch!
He was a former Marine. He was taught to properly aim weapons.
Combat wounded WWII USMC vet i'm sure he's had experience@@hoppinggnomethe4154
That theme never gets old
Makes me want to conquer the world!
Here in Brazil, this awesome theme by Alan Silvestri was used in a tv commercial to join the army. What a smart idea 😎
It never does. :)
Yeah for sure
It should be our new National Anthem
Everybody gangsta until Lee Marvin shows up
Ah the 80's action movies...love them.
Lee Marvin the legendary tough guy Rest in Peace
Not so tough anymore ay..
So tough... he ordered Chuck Norris around
This was his last film.
Lee Marvin was the man.Loved him in Death Hunt with Charles Bronson.
@@Trust-me-I-am-a-dentist ???
Lee Marvin said in an interview after the film came out that He saw it at a Theater in Tuscon,AZ. He was in disguise because he wanted to see the reaction from the audience!
Gotta love the classic 80's music.
By alan silverstri!
Greatest soundtrack ever

Yep, action movies were much better before all the PC and wokeness bullshit infested everything.
Lee Marvin was badly wounded in the battle on Saipan for Mount Tapochau taking Japanese machine gun nests. He was rated a sniper; always adds a lot of realism to the war films he was in.
When Lee Marvin shows up ,you know you're safe.
Or out of booze
Rudy Garcia Add Chuck in the mix and all are Ok. Well except for the obligatory death scene. Even Chuck can’t always save his friend.
or dead if you're the villain

Wow he passed away pretty young 63
He was very sick while filming this
Lee Marvin was probably one of the only guys in this movie that actually saw real combat.
United States Marines Sniper
Yeah, but real combat was too scared to look Chuck in the eye for fear of going instantly blind...
@@richardnoone6187 🤣🤣🤣🤣
well liam neeson grew up in ballymena which is not too far from belfast so while he may not have seen combat as you understand it he did see a lot of troubles. also chuck norris served with the air force in korea. he was drafted.
He was probably the only one in this film that actually aimed his weapon through the sights.
R.I.P Lee Marvin, Steve James, Martin Balsam, Joey Bishop, Robert Forster, George Kennedy, Susan Strasberg, Robert Vaughn and Shelley Winters.
Love this movie. “How many hostages?” “3 sleeping in the cockpit”. Goes in the plane and there are 5. Haha!
He's bad at math 😂
I mean in fairness he did say 3 _”in the cockpit”_ maybe he just wanted to surprise them with the other two hostages sleeping just outside 😂
Gotta love the escape plan, commandeer an airliner and fly out of a blockaded airport in a city where a large force of US Marines was forced to retreat 3 years before this film was made
I remember this on the old TV as a child in the 80's. I miss those days in the 80's.
1:08, Lee Marvin blasted Jafir like he was ordering a pizza. lol
lol
Probably not the first time he’s done that.
Best movie of the 80's R.I.P to Robert Forster

Lee Marvin just caps the guy opening the door lmao.
Best parts 0:12-0:13 0:15-0:16 0:17-0:18 and love how they're all killed while sleeping hahahaha
I love how he just acknowledges them that hes from Delta Force
Snake Eater the exact opposite of why there is a Delta Force
RIP Lee marvin
Good patriotic 1980’s movies.
Terrorist: “Jaffer Iben Khalil, Come down from the mountain.” “Maybe he’s asleep.” Colonel Alexander: “Wake him up!”
They all use silenced weapons then the colonel decides to wake everyone with a nice big bang from his Glock pistol.
Did Chuck Norris really even need to be in this?
Yes
Lee Marvin didn't seem to need him that much.
Now in Star Wars THIS is how rebels were supposed to be...UNSTOPPABLE!!!😁

Lee Marvin took those guys out like nothing
Him shooting the one who came out of the plane I think ranks as the most brutal thing I've seen him do in a movie. I will never tire of a scumbag catching it in the brainpan.
My best friend was a Delta Force Sniper. Sorry, can't tell you anything about his missions, but needless to say, there are real life "Rambos" out there still.
He was a Marine in real life
Yea
One of my favorite movies.
Love that garrote!

I watched the movie in 1986 in New York City. Still today , 2021 its enjoying for me

Wooow the best scene of reedeming the hijacked preys
In this decade it was okay for gunshots in movies to sound like firing lasers

Love that Les Marvin is like 70 years old in this movie and still kills multiple guys.
The sound of silencers have always been neat for me. Very well executed action scene.
They are classic stock sound used mostly in the 80s and 90s
@@hoppinggnomethe4154 Very neat!
Filmaço Chuck Norris ícone...🤗🤗🤗🤗
So you're telling me that Lebanon at this time doesn't have any AA missiles, gun emplacements, fighter planes? A more realistic route would be extraction by choppers from an off shore carrier strike group.
At the time they had some but it was not that well organized. Israeli fighter jets rule the skies over Lebanon
"It's about time"...well, hell, sorry to have kept you waiting. /sarcasm :P
Damn us 80s kids had the BEST action movies.
Preach on, brother
the best delta force movie!
Cut scene. Lee Marvin blows that guy's brains out after he gets the info
The terrorist who beat the off duty Military serviceman when they took over the aircraft was the same one Lee Marvin dropped at the top of the airplane steps. 30+ yrs since i saw and still get goose bumps watching that scene
