  • Hello from Sri Lanka 😅 ... I've watched almost all of your videos. Great stuff Rich! Really enjoy them ... here in srilanka we don't get snook ... but we've got a lot of queen fish, Jackz, grouper and snappers I usually use a hand line to land decent sized fish...😅 I would love to fish using good gear some day perhaps. Keep fishing Rich 🎉

  • Your editing and production are just top-notch, Rich. I don’t know how you have the time to do the high-quality editing with all the fishing you do. Also, I really appreciate the honesty in your posts. If things weren’t going well, you make it known. When you have 30, 60, 360mins of slow-going but it’s just a blip on the video due to an edit, you’ll tell the truth and say you just put in the time but nothing happened. It’s refreshing. Keep up the great work!

  • So Rich on the south side (Atlantic) there are miles and miles of patch reef in between land and the big reef, generally between 14 and 25 ft if you anchor up current of a patch you mark well on you literally can catch so many species and some serious bigs. People get caught up in deep water mindset but i have had more great days with customers in the patches than out deep. Easier to target and less sharks. Get your chart and look inside from Washerwoman shoals to Western Dry Rocks a nice little 1 or 2 acre pile of reef will be loaded. Little tip if you ever fish them , leave the long Stuart leaders behind or you will be wrapped around 500 seafans etc. Also little tidbit on Yellowtails hold them across a 5 gallon bucket if they fit inside they are too small. If any part of his body hangs past the edge he is good to go. Typical patch day will be 3 or 4 giant Muttons 5 or 6 keeper Groupers and all the Snapper you want along with big Yellow Jacks and Mackerals. It is out of control how hard a Mutton rips in Shallow water!! Line screaming runs

    • I honestly have the same question for the same reason, but I also know little to nothing about saltwater rigs so thanks for asking. I’ve learned a lot from watching Rich so there has to be good reason. I hope he sees your comment.

    • The water is like 50ft + visibility and some fish like mutton snapper which I was hoping to encounter are extremely line shy and won’t eat it if you don’t have a long leader. I recently though found these cool line clips for sinkers so I can have a long leader and then just clip the sinker off when I reel up with a fish on. I’ll put them to use soon so you all can see!

      @FishAholicTV@FishAholicTV21 күн бұрын
    • @@FishAholicTV I will be glad to see you unclip that sinker and then reel in the rest of the line!! It was not as big a worry with Mono, but the new strong and very thin braid will cut your finger off in a second. It will cut like a razor blade. Please get that new setup as soon as you can brother.

    @BryanChristensen-lp5vt@BryanChristensen-lp5vt21 күн бұрын
    • Thanks so much and awesome! I hope you have a good trip! Something fun to do with the youngster would be inshore snappers on pretty much any dock or shallow mangrove. Also if you can get out in a kayak or small rental boat you can probably find some larger snappers in deeper creeks, or canal mouths. If you find a spot in a creek with deeper water, a boat dock, and a larger size boat docked there. You’ll definitely have a great chance at getting on a good snapper bite. Snook, Tarpon, and Juvie Goliath grouper could also be hanging out in areas like that. If you can get out on a flat. Casting around 3 to 4” crocodile spoons with a short wire leader can be really fun to catch cudas! But watch the teeth and the treble hooks hahah. Inside John Pennekamp park there are some creeks that run south and there some nice Snook, and snapper in the there. Although again you’ll need a boat or kayak to effectively fish. Shrimp casted with a small hook or slit shot would would work. Or a shrimp just under a float so the kiddo can see the bite. Good luck!

    @ELITExARCHER1@ELITExARCHER121 күн бұрын
