The fact that Tony told punk what do you want me to do is laughable. He is so damn soft and let's the talent run the company
The fact that Tony didn't ask Punk to drop the title to Joe, AFTER the backstage incident and Punk quitting, shows how spineless Kahn really is.
Super spineless. Tony could have said well Phil why don't we confront Jack together. Then nothing would have happened. Tony let's the inmates run the asylum at aew and all he does is sign the checks. weak. He's dickless. Which is sad because AEW really could have been something. @@zwelethumahlalela8685 good take on that thank you
I was so right about TK not acting like a real boss. TK is a wimp in real-life who is scared of confrontation. It's no wonder he's afraid to handle these incidents, and had a lack of communications towards his employees. I was so right about Punk not wanting to be in AEW anymore after the Brawl Out incident. Punk knew separating him and the Elite on different shows was not going to work out. That's why Punk decided he wanted out on AEW. I don't blame him. So everything we've heard on the shoot interview from Eric Bischoff, Big Swole, Johnathan Gresham, LuFisto, and Jim Cornette are partially true. They're right about AEW had a lack of leadership, communication, and structures. Those issues drove Punk away. The Elite, Perry and TK should all be ashamed of themselves for driving Punk away. So yes, Tony Khan is a clown.
TK definitely doesn't sound like business owner with how he behaves. This situation is proof that his Dad is the only reason any of them are successful.
He's honestly so good for the business
Punk asked Tony to handle the situation and Tony had the nerve to ask “what do you want me to do”. He’s the boss, it’s his company. He should know what he should do without asking.
“I’m not gunna tell you what to do . Just please be the boss”😂😂😂 Now we know for sure the whole “I feared for my life” thing was Tony desperately trying to get ahead of the story . Punk wanted out after the first incident . I F’ng knew it! Now Dave Meltzer , Sean Ross Sapp , JDfromny , Bc amplified, and the rest of the mark podcast community looks stupid . Just like I told all of them they would, when punk feels like telling his side of the story. #legend
JD is a insufferable guinea.
Sickening comment. Tony Khan is a great businessman with excellent leadership skills. CM Punk is a toxic narcissist who got away with far too much for far too long. Tony Khan drew the line and now he's the bad guy.
@@unknownkingdomI’ve seen that there are other wrestlers who agree with Punk but u believe what u want to

@@mattraspo9912He just had Edge cut a goofy promo following this. On the company’s own National TV airtime. It’s painfully obvious.
@@mattraspo9912because Tony does that each and every time. Didn't you hear about the Dynamite promo from Adam COPEland?
A lot of this stuff is what Jim Cornette has been saying and that’s a viewer!
Vince wouldn't STAND this anymore
The fact that Tony Khan asks his top guy, "What do you want me to do?" After that.. pretty much sums the state of AEw, money is the only thing holding that place. Not them earning it, but the ability of Tony Khan to burn it. He has 0 accountability, and that's why there are so many employees and so little bosses. Even fewer that are good at it. As punk mentioned, he might be a nice guy, but not a boss. Cornette mentioned how he would've handled that situation, is that the best way? Maybe not, but you need to do something, at least set an example. What we have now is, the top guy is making a tonne of money for your "competition", the guy that caused all of this is getting paid from two separate companies, for half the work and zero impact on the business. TK, please work less and hire somebody.
Say what you will about Tony Khan, but let's put Punk under the microscope for a minute. He's a VERY confrontational individual. He doesn't seem to know how to talk to others without escalating things instead of being the wise veteran and giving advice to the younger wrestler. This is the SECOND fight he instigated with a completely different group of wrestlers. While he may have good points, the way he addresses issue is VERY IMMATURE for a guy in his 40s. He criticizes the boss for not being a leader, yet what kind of leader is Punk being as a veteran? The fact that he laughs about telling Jack Perry how he would kill him speaks volumes about his ego. He had a God complex. I became a big fan back in the "Summer of Punk" in 2011 and was so excited to see him return in August 2021, but he's really starting to rub me the wrong way. His entire approach to things is unprofessional. Let's hope he does strike out in WWE, because he's in his last at bat...
@@ivanfranceschi9139 Punk's job isn't to be the boss and handle backstage beef, and he knows he isn't good at it. Like he said several times, "you wouldn't like the way I would handle it," yet he is put in that position because he was working with guys with even bigger egos than his own who would go off script and waste his and the companies time. Punk had to deal with it himself because his boss wouldn't defend Punk or even his own company when his talent tried walking all over everyone. Punk's situation is what happens when you don't have leadership. Punk tried to play his part, but Tony wanted Punk to handle Jack Perry because he couldn't, and this is what happened.
@@ivanfranceschi9139 well, i never said a word about punk here, but, you do make good points. However, I'm an old school fan, and punk is old school. And wrestlers in the past used to conduct themselves in that manner. I'm not saying that, that's the best way, but I'd prefer that over wrestlers not even trying to back their words.
@@vipulrao3093 If he's as old school as you say he is, why is he airing dirty laundry in interviews? Isn't that what modern-day wrestlers do?
@@ivanfranceschi9139 I agree with what you said completely. CM Punk's way of dealing with problems is immature and reckless. He's an egotistical, bitter wrestler who acts out when he doesn't get his way. Punk didn't like Vince McMahon's way of doing things or Tony Khan's way of doing things. He'll likely turn on Triple H's way of doing things eventually. No matter who CM Punk's boss is he'll always have a problem because CM Punk doesn't want to follow anyone else's orders.
This is more factual now that Tony compared WWE to fucking Harvey Weinstein
After the footage that came out, man CM Punk is on a roll of a lifetime. Love to see it
Let’s hope his wwe return lasts longer than his mma match against Mickey gaal….. oh wait he’s hurt again. LMAO.
The worst part is Tony answers to no one yet has 0 respect from anyone.
I know exactly what he’s talking about too. I’m currently working for a clueless boss who anytime bullshit happens and a coworker causes drama or outright breaks the rules and acts like a spoiled brat and says “I can do whatever I want” the boss just looks at you and says “what do you want me to do about it.” 🤦🏻
Yup, being in a toxic work environment sucks
It’s literally exactly how cornette described it.
It 1000% is. Can't wait for Cornette to talk about this.
AEW seems to have a HUGE problem with management within the company, such as omega, young bucks and khan, especially when wrestlers throw on "evp" caps
Theirs a time to be someone's friend, and there's a time to act like a figure of authority, that seems to be something tony khan doesn't really get in wrestling industry.
I have never been a CM Punk fan more then I am NOW!!!

I’m not into wresting, but I always thought CM Punk was so nice looking. Still do apparently.
I cannot imagine how much AEW fans are crying in these threads and posts LOL
Vince would have thrown hands with both of them. Tony kahn needs to hire a general manager he's not fit to run the show.
And that is why Tony was in fear of his life? lol

There are alot of other likable things but I think I also fell into the whats Daniel Bryan sorry Bryan Danielson doing this week, Whats Samoa Joe doing , whats Christian doing..... The wwe guys made me care for d place but I rather just watch review shows to stay up to date or know what when to watch than watch the ok-great matches in front of 2,000 people with a worse picture quality
Great interview. One of his best interviews
There's a MASSIVE difference between giving a "version" of the facts and talking the ACTUAL facts. Khan and his stupid marks spoke nothing but a distorted version of the facts... Punk spoke facts. #legend
The fuller picture of what happened that night is coming to light, and the truth ls somewhere in the middle of the "breaking news" we all read and Punk's take in this interview. Perry should've not been a prick, Punk should've not took the bait, Tony should have handled it. Ultimately it was Tony's clowns, Tony's circus. The fault of it all lies at his feet.
Tony Khan is the Michael Scott of the wrestling business 😂
Tony Kahn is a grownup kid with money playing live wrestling dolls. He didn’t want to open a wrestling company. He wanted to open a multimillion dollar playground for himself, so of course his approach to management is completely hands off and, when he’s held accountable to his position, he blames everyone but himself when things go haywire.
After this you would think Tony would be like Punks right and hire someone Vince Russo to run his company and just take a step back but he won't in his mind he's the boss
TELL ME WHEN IM TELLING LIES. Right now Phillup. Total lies
So Punk walked up to Jack...
I find it weird that everyone is either editing out or completely ignoring cm punk saying jungle boy got close.
Just seems pretty unprofessional on their part! And he wasn’t wrong tbf
The fact that a nobody (wrestling wise) like Jack Perry would even dare to say something like that to a world known veteran like CM Punk (and any other veteran) just speaks to how the culture in that company is all about: "I'm the real deal" and not "I should be at least considerative of some veterans advice and keep my head down cause I haven't payed my dues" and it's something that if it would happen in WWE then well...let's just say that JBL and Bob Holly would have a field day
But he got mad because Perry told him to cry a river for not wanting real glass on their fight. He started everything and he’s and old dude while Perry is just a hungry young wrestler.
I mean why would you do a spot that put you in unnecessary risk of injury I mean look at Angle vs Shane when they doing the spot on reinforced sugar glass imagine doing it with real glass
@@kratosgow342 and Jack got cut up too

Tony expects to run a wrestling business to rival the Mcmahon empire but doesnt know how to handle a jack perry. Vince would eat him alive and throw him in the trash.

For all of his faults, there is NO WAY Vince would allow this kind of bs happen unchecked in wwe
True. Tony Khan may be a total wuss, but that's no excuse for CM Punk to play tough guy and fight with his co workers backstage. Punk didn't like following a strong boss like Vince McMahon; and he doesn't like following a weak boss like Tony Khan. Bottom line is that CM Punk simply doesn't like following orders of any kind. He wants to be the boss of himself and of everyone else everywhere he works at.
