I think I was 5. It would be the first Easter Sunday in a new church (ca 1958) for my mother, the preacher’s wife. To make a great impression, she bought yards & yards of gorgeous small-flowered fabric in oranges and reds and made a fitted bodice with a full, gathered skirt, sweetheart neckline. At or near finishing, she tossed it over on a box that held fabric scraps. 😉 Then, she fobbed me off over & over when I asked for doll clothes fabric. I’m a do-it-yourself sort. I went to the sewing room and found this gorgeous fabric. That would make a good doll dress (I actually couldn’t sew, but…kids). I removed the pesky bodice with scissors. I have no memory of how that incident concluded, but I’d bet there was a meltdown on my mother’s part.
This makes my partner and I rethink having a child. 😓
These small children weren't being supervised apparently.
Oh come on!! You don’t want to miss THIS adventure!! Just secure your technology, put the tv and every other tech up high, paint buckets up high. If he/she gets really quiet, go check immediately. The REWARDS outweigh these little hiccups. Unless you’re hooked on BORING….have a BABY!

My sister was following me downstairs carrying a heavy zither we were going to play along with the piano. She looked at the top of my head and wondered if cartoons were accurate about stringed instruments ending up around people's necks. Next thing I knew, I was on the couch with an ice pack and nasty headache. I think I was 4
I blame the parents this behavior is deplorable

1:06 when I was about seven, my friend and I decided we were going to paint the (newly finished) basement...with finger paint. I still don't know how paint ended up on the ceiling. When my Mom asked how it got there I told her that the cat had come down, slipped in the paint on the floor, flipped over and hit the ceiling with his paws, and that's how the paint got on the ceiling. And ya know what..? I'm gonna stick by that story.
