Daron made two comments that are key One was that she had a male friend as a teenager and they both got in trouble because they were both using makeup. That's what Marco's character represented in these moments. Boys who aren't constrained by stereotypes. There's more than one way to be a man. The other flat out said Marco had no doubts about his own masculinity when being Turdina.

That's what she wanted to show. The reason boys bottle up their expressions is because people like you see things like this as trans coding. Marco made money off of Turdina. The whole structure was to save his friends and then he was very capitalist about the rights. That together with what the creator said shows no coding at all.
