this guy has to be one of the best interviewers ive ever seen from any of the 1d boys. so respectful and really really listens to what he’s saying as a solo artist and not just as a band. i come back to this every time i need comfort, you can really learn so much from this

as much as I agree and I know a lot of us do, Liam knows more than any of us how many people were, and still are, mad at Zayn. I think most people that are fans now are supportive of him, but in 2015 it was a shit show and even people who weren't necessarily mad at him still guilt tripped him about making them sad, which is just such a horrible thing to do. so as much as I agree, Liam has very valid reasons to be worried about this, and all I can do is hope that we're better than that now.

I feel like that is how 99% of us fans feel, we'd love a reunion but it wouldn't be good for them, not because of them but the management was toxic, awful, money grabbing and drained the boys. I am so pleasantly surprised how thoughtful and mature this young man is. I am just glad that each member of One Direction managed to survive all that fame and money at a very young age. I think that speaks volumes for what kind of families they came from!!!!

Eye opening and heartbreaking interview. At the height of 1D's popularity, I don't think many realized what they were seeing was five very talented kids sacrificing the tail end of their childhood. That was the price paid. Now therapy is what is needed to help them sift and sort through that entire portion of their lives. They were a manufactured group put together to make it rain money. It's understandable to see how there could be some form and measure of trauma in all of them.

@@lporquai9048 absolutely and I agree with Teasapetal. They worked those "kids" like machines and add that on top of all that insane attention, expectation and pressure. Anyone of ANY age would have a hard time with all of that.
They applied to the show and got the gig thus absorbing the good and bad that came with it. That's not traumatizing. Maybe their childhoods pre- 1D had a lot to do with needing therapy.

Love this interview, it’s heartbreaking, but there’s a connection between Liam and Steven, the interview seems so chill. I love any celebrity that has the courage to speak up about the music industry. Because too many of them hide behind a picture perfect flower wall, so afraid they would loose their fame, good will of the tabloids etc. Liam just has the courage to be himself and I think a lot of it comes down to knowing he can appreciate his fans without pandering.

Agree. My all time fave band did that before their hiatus ended. They said they did the group therapy for that even. It seems to have helped them a lot. That's all men feature, pardon my generalization. But that's true, they bottle it up, they're never tellig anything. When there's 5 of them it can be a whole world in a bottle.

Does it surprise you that 99% of the people who write a comment which is pretty solidly dictator based have at least one initial which is A, J or S? . As you asked, he is good, and he's making more of a good impression on me (and he just said Evangelise twice in his sponsor advert - see my name - short for Evangelist4Justice) but he fails when he says "people blah blah blah blah" as if all people are exactly the same, and that is totally unrealistic, and actually rude, and I don't appreciate that.
I love that he shows a playful side of himself as well as a vulnerable side. He says so many interesting things, it really makes you think and he's just so smart, it was such a real and honest conversation. But they need to individually deal with any trauma experienced before they get back. It does them no good to bottle things up, that’s why I’m so proud of Liam for being this open and honest. Healing always starts with acknowledging there’s a problem.
I am a clinical psychologist and I have been working for many years with people who suffer from addiction problems, especially alcohol, I am very glad that artists begin to transmit this problem so that people understand that it is one of the most common ways we look for when we have a problem or we feel bad, I know it is complex but although it sounds cliché the first step is to accept it, assume it and try to find solutions to deal with it, I am very glad, you are a great artist I admire you very much.
Liam is a person anyone would be lucky to know. Honest, kind, and caring. It's good hes putting himself first after putting everyone else first for so long. The true fans will support him no matter what. The true fans wont get mad at him for putting his mental health first. He is human, he needs time to heal. So, let's be good fans and give him that. Then, we can be there for him when he's ready to share. I love Liam, he taught me its okay to be selfish sometimes. It's ok to admit you're not ok. Liam, and all the boys, have helped me heal. Now, it's time we let them heal.
I just wanna thank the host for being so genuine and actually listening to him. He treated Liam like Liam Payne and not 'the guy from 1D'. Didn't let Payno get uncomfortable, asked genuine questions and created a healthy environment. I wish every host/interviewer was like you. THANK YOU SO MUCH xx

I have always wanted a reunion but after watching this interview I don't think I do anymore .They should better do things what they love to do rather than doing things which will make us happy cause if you love them ( 1D or just Liam ) their happiness is what we have always wanted ( atleast I do ).. Their time in 1D made their life a living hell and it kept getting bigger which even made Zayn leaving the band. Niall even mentioned in an interview that they couldn't even go for a walk outside without being harrassed by paps and screaming fans ,, I can't even imagine living that way. They took s hiatus for a reason and let's not make everything they do about 1D ,we should appreciate their work as solo artists because this is what they always wanted to be . Lastly I just want all the boys to be happy and make their health and happiness their first priority , We'll always support you Liam no matter what and the fact that you're confident enough to talk about such things is something not everyone can do ,I wish I could be like you some day , you're such an inspiration Love ya Liam x I would have made many grammatical mistakes sorry about that

When Liam talks about it everyone is sympathetic towards his plight , but when Zayn tried to talk no one believed him! I am glad he released #YellowMetal literally 2 weeks ago. He gives answers as to why he keeps to himself ! He was physically and verbally assaulted last weekend and everyone tried to drag HIM , when he was the one who was the victim of a homophobic hate crime! !

Honestly this was so insightful, it’s so good to be able to sit back and understand what Liam actually goes through and what his thoughts process is because it shows you that there are things that we as people can relate to and hold a common relation to.
This is one of my favorite things I’ve watched in a while. Liam is such an inviting and funny person off the bat but the fact that he’s so honest makes him that much more relatable.
This is hands down the best interview of Liam. Very insightful chat. Being a directioner, I thought i knew Liam so well, but now it's like all i knew was just a drop in an ocean. He is in his journey of self- discovery and i am very proud of him. Infact a lot of these idealogies and things thet they talked about has changed my perspective towards a lot of things about success and life.

@@aryam6538 Oops…. Yes I just joined the fandom in Feb 2020 and Liam quickly became my fav. I didn’t intend to play favs, it just happened. Plus I had lots of time on my hands during quarantine hence my numerous comments. I’m not so active these days.

When he said “that he knows people will be mad about him saying that he was glad the band ended” I was like I’m not mad at him or any of them, but I am mad at their toxic management and mad that he feels that way; for ages I wanted a reunion but now I don’t, not unless it makes them happy, but their mental health is the most important, they put their own mental health at risk to save me, now it’s time for them to save them selfs
