The Jungle Endurance Course is the culminating point of the Jungle Skills Course. Classes taught through the five-day Jungle Skills Course are utilized throughout the E-Course. In 12-18-man teams, students traverse 3.8 miles (6.1 km) of dense jungle and rugged terrain. Using teamwork and perseverance, teams compete with one another across 31 obstacles spread along the course. Teams face hasty rappels, rope obstacles, water obstacles and a stretcher carry to complete the entire course.

  • I was a JWSI on Guam (81-82) for over a year, during my training I was sent to Camp Hansen Okinawa for the 1 week Land Nav course and again for the advanced Land Nav course. Both were taught at what was then the NTA (Norther Training Area) apparently now its the JSC. Its some of the most rugged terrain Ive been on. One Marine in our night land navigation course portion fell through the roots of a tree (false jungle floor) 20 feet in the pitch blackness (dark doesn't describe it) and broke his back and had to be helo'd out. Badass course you have there! Keep up the hard Corps!

  • I wonder what would be harder this training or the French Guiana course the Legion uses. The Legion goes out for 3 week patrols.
