When the engagement was announced, the comments section online to any video clip with her in it ran afoul with racial slurs and never ending euphemisms. If you really care about the truth, pull up videos from when the engagement was announced and read the comments from then. She has remained silent and very dignified throughout this entire issue. Her speaking out now is only to be expected due to Harry abandoning his title, etc. It sorta demanded explanation - not that they owe the public anything. And lo and behold, it was the racism and social media and tabloids like The National Enquirer that derailed them. No surprise there.

@@cody7378 I was 12 years old when my friend was run over by a van and killed and now at 37 years old I still think about it. Harry may have been young but the circumstances around his mothers death were not good and he has said many times before he has had a hard time coming to terms with what has happened to his mother and the anger he felt about it as he got older.

He protected his wife the way his father NEVER DID for Diana! And Prince Harry did what he needed to protect his son - AGAIN, that Charles lacked the courage to do! Brave Prince Harry & bravo Meghan for fighting for yourself & your family.

Harry is toxic, too. He is blaming his father for cutting him off, but that only happened after Canadian taxpayers found out they were footing their bill. He also sounded snotty and dismissive about The Firm suggesting that Meghan continue working as an actress to help supplement their expenses (again so there'd be less burden on the taxpayers). It's great they want to do humanitarian work, but they also want to maintain a lavish lifestyle and need to be realistic about that.

Harry, in my opinion, did what he had to do to be healthy. He saw what happened to his mother, and that experience has informed him in a very potent way. If Megan is crying out for help no matter if she's right or wrong, I think it speaks volumes that her husband has done whatever he's had to do to protect his wife and mother of his children, including turning his back on HIS ROYAL FAMILY. Apparently nothing he does will ever be enough to make her feel content which I think many viewers find really sad because no man wants to feel as though they are lacking and perhaps that's the unhealthy cycle they both are in.

I have 2 children from over 2 decades ago, my wife has pretty pure white skin (except when she has spent a few week’s in a fast tan salon). I myself have a natural tan even though I’m born & bred in the UK. My wife’s family & my own family conjectured whether or not my children would be born with a little tan or not. There was absolutely NO RACISM, it was a genuine question because most people born & bred in the UK have pink/white skin. I have no relatives abroad which could account for my slight tan that I’m aware of, II’m naturally tanned & I cannot explain this in a more simpler way. It is totally innocent for both sides of a family to wonder what skin tone a new born child may have when the mother is pure white & the father is white but naturally tanned. Why on earth would anyone at all call it racism. My children we’re both born with my tan👍 8 year’s apart & never once been on the end of racism. Both side’s of our families love them anyway, they are both healthy & strong & intelligent, what more could a loving parent ask for???
It depends on the way the question is asked.. if it is asked in an offensive manner then of course it can be deemed as racist. Note Harry and Meghan said there was concern . The word concern is key. In your personal case it seems family were curious...so that's not racism but with Harry it seems it was an uncomfortable conversation he had with a family member. Who knows what tone was used and how it was worded so we can't really say it isn't racism. Not without knowing the details anyway.

Do you apply that same logic to the media then who never ever give a name of their 'alleged' royal source/insider yet their stories are published and believed as fact/gospel truth. So why such double standards and this isn't directed at you personally.. it's just I don't get why there is this issue when H and M speak yet it's fine for the media and experts to say everything without being challenged and bashed. The institution is flawed and frankly speaking an institution which treats siblings so different like heir and spare, protects Andrew and knights war criminals needs to really have a good look at what it really wants to stand for in the 21st century. Changes need to happen otherwise what happened now with Harry and before with other back ups, will repeat with Charlotte and Louis.
But the royal family has a history of this with their comments about the 'ginger' son too and Princess Diana having to explain to everyone the 'ginger' came from 'the Spencer side'. Harry himself has experienced this and spoken of it. 'Gingers' are not looked kindly upon in Britain. So, you see, I respectfully disagree, and note that It's not just context, there's a pattern there from the royals and a history of blood-line protection that has kept outsiders away for nearly half a millenia. Now they've driven away Harry and Meghan. Their loss. They're a beautiful, wonderful family, and they could have brought real and positive change...

At first I was in love with the couple the first half black woman to marry into the royal family. I'm not so much anymore both of them are very dissapointing. Harry knows what was expected of a Royal and I'm quite sure he told Meghan before they married then time after time as I followed them she would want more attention to the media than him and when the left the royal family that did it for me why didn't he leave before marrying her if he felt that way. My niece had a mixed race baby recently. BOTH sides of the family talked about the babies skin. We were simply speculating about what she would look like, what her personality would be, etc... But it's interesting that one side of the family would be called racist for doing the same thing the other side of the family was doing. Both sides would joke and tease each other about if her hair would be red like our side, if she would have green eyes, etc.

As a Brit the overall reaction to Meghan was so positive. The British public have not done this...I saw no racism in the British portrayal of Meghan.Everyone is so fond of Harry and wanted him to be happy and even wanted him to be free to do what he wants. I'm not saying she never came across any racism but it wasnt in the newspapers, I didnt see it online or in the magazines so the British public feel like what have we done wrong?? The tables started to turn on Meghan when it came out she was a bit of a prima Donna at the tennis and that didnt go down well then the way it all went down with her dad.....even the fact she had nobody but celebs on her side at the wedding and her poor mum who seemd to be all by herself didnt turn the public until it came apparent they wanted all the perks of senior payed for royals but not the actual work that goes with it. And at the same time preach about the environment and our footprint when people have lost a lot this year and feel that being told to cut down on our carbon footprints when its them taking private jets. Yet, the family of four live in an enormous mansion. It doesn’t look so good to be overly extravagant and lavish while promoting your charity’s organization. They are living in a state the houses the infamous skid row. Sadly, they have many empty rooms available while at the same time there are so many people that do not have a roof over their head and are succumbed to the daily elements? Philanthropists views and ideas do not coincide with your over-the- top lifestyle. How much money is wasted every single day maintaining an over abundant and extravagant lifestyle? Is it really necessary to live in such an enormous mansion when homelessness continues to be a major problem and struggle for so many. Does it make sense to maintain a pool, brook, and sprawling green landscape in a drought ridden state that is susceptible to wildfires? Isn’t it hypocritical to utilize private jets to attend engagements & speak on topics regarding climate control? We each are entitled to live out the lifestyle we want. However, in the case of H & M, their actions speak louder than words - making the public become skeptical and question motives. Announcing in a Press Release the intent to become ‘financially independent’ sends a message that money is your motive and driving force. I believe the reason people are so critical now is because H & M have chosen the spotlight to promote their brand and charitable causes. With any career in the public eye you can expect some backlash. It is part of the package. Unfortunately, in H & M’s case it is beyond what is typical. It is understandable why their brand is tarnished and why so many people have turned against them. As a British resident for 25 years I remember watching in amazement as Meghan Markle was welcomed into the royal family. The welcome tours she and Harry did in England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland where thousands came to greet and welcome her. A first for any royal bride to be. Her invitations to Christmas and other royal activities pre-marriage, a first for any royal bride to be. I remember the wedding which broke with royal traditions with significant nods to her black heritage and who can forget Prince Charles walking her down the aisle and the compassion he showed to her mother. I remember the newspaper reports that the queen had assigned her most trusted aides to her to help her transition to royal life. I remember the British tabloids heralding Markle Sparkle and modernization of the British Monarchy. The formation of the fabulous four working on Mental Health ( albeit with no doubt that William and Kate were rightfully top bill). This all happened with the backdrop of Meghans family providing negative interviews about her in the press and details of her life and treatment of others being made public for the first time. Then once married, I watched as Meghan did things her way: her constant holding of hands and Harry, while they were at work representing the queen (for anyone about to object, this is not likely to happen with a married couple who share a business when dealing with clients). I saw her and Harry move away from the Fabulous Four, as they felt they were not getting enough coverage, create their own social media and causes. I saw them hire their own PR teams, and with as many as 7 articles about them on yahoo per day it was clear that this team was clearly put to work. I remember their discussions on climate change while travelling mainly on private planes. I remember her holding her bump constantly in a way that detracted from anything else being said or done at an event. I remember them being booed on the night in question at the Royal Albert Hall (probably why she was crying when the lights were off). I remember their break with tradition of Lindo wing (ps photographers were waiting for that photoop no one had to ask you to ask for that picture). I remember them controlling the birth announcement of Archie which contradicted with timing with the Palaces announcement. I remember that no official picture, interview or display to the press was given when Archie was born (until much later). The public was left to speculate about whether he had red hair, what shade he was (yes even black people were keen to know). Then I remember their exit and their wish to pursue financial independence and the RF insistence that you are either in our out All of this shows that these two people have done it their way from start to finish and were allowed to make many of their own decisions. The fact the many of these decisions were faulty and diminished their poularity is on them. In the desire of wanting and having their own privacy, they have called in camera crews to watch them lay wreaths on soldiers graves, they have collaborated on a book , they have announced their miscarriage, they have announced pregnancy. In fact their one goal is to create a brand that would eclipse William and Kate. When all else failed they double down on explosive claims of racism and mental health. All press is good press to stay relevant. While there may be elements of unconscious bias in the royal family, as there are in all organisations, I do not believe it rises to the level of racism. While insensitive comments can be made, they were made within a family and which one of us has not had that happen in our family. I truly hope this is their last word on this matter. They would do well to find a real cause and message. Bashing your family is not a sustainable option. I forgot to mention I am BLACK.

Sometimes the best thing for someone’s mental health is to separate from family. Sone families are toxic and as someone who have separated from family I don’t regret it one bit. I am of the opinion that Harry always had issues with his family way before Meghan came into the picture. She only gave him the motivation and the courage to do what I believe he wanted to do for a long time. Even if he and Meghan don’t work out I think him making the decision to separate from the royal family was the best thing for his mental health

Money has a high probability of increasing comfortable life styles which reduces stress which can make it much easier to be consistently happy. Rich people do have a lot of stresses at times and tend to have problems that revolve around other aspects of life.
