What a horrid pride of bullies.... Thankfully his Mama came to the rescue. They look so cute together there is nothing like mother's love that's for sure.
I knew she was pissed by the first low snarl. Glad the baby made it. He survived so much prior to that! Almost hunted by a leopard too. He survived to be an adult with the hip problems from his older siblings bullying him. Not sure exactly if his mother had more cubs, but he has had younger half siblings... the dreamer is another cub to look up, is his younger half brother probably from one of his mother's sister from the pack. (Usually never different fathers or else the pride male would kill it.) None of the older ones took interest in the dreamer, except one: the misfit. Misfit and the dreamer were close while one of the cubs that grew up with misfit stood loyal to him. A sweet story. There are progressive stories on the misfit going into adulthood.

Why wouldn't the misfit cub make it. They are his brothers... They are adolescents. But these teenage lions wouldn't kill their own baby brother

I just don't understand WHY adult lions don't succumb to the cry of baby lions calling out? You'd think they would jump in to save it and protect if it is alone and lost. Thank God Misfit's mama showed up in following her heart and instincts. .
They don't have the same instincts as adult lions.
The adult lions in their clan were having fun with misfit. If it weren't his clan he would have been killed.

I’m amazed this cub survives to adulthood with all the odds stacked against him. It’s rare that we hear of this detailed kind of underdog story of survival of individuals in the wild. Thank you @African Lion Pride for bringing this story. I did read of his ultimate success into adulthood, getting his own pride, etc. But was sad to learn that he ultimately is poisoned by humans. After surviving so much in his young life and overcoming challenge after challenge, his ultimate demise is due to the biggest scourge on the planet, humans.

I will post the full series of him as a cub when i have the time. He was uninjured prior to this scene. it was due to the bullying, being pushed around and his mother accidentally squishing him that got him injured here. he got injured in the past , so his mothers refused to feed and he wasn't able to cope with rest of the group. check out the complete series.

@Kris LVgirl I know all of this stuff I have been learning about them for 4 years i know all this stuff, I know lions are territorial, I know lions are aggressive, i know lions kill each other, but lions will forever stay as my favorite animal :), and also if you wanna tell me something that i wouldn't like please keep it to yourself. :)

These shows are so fake. Making a “documentary” like a Disney movie does nothing to help or educate. Here they are creating stress and drama where there is none. The film makers, I think, just chose to take the low road with the material they had. It would have taken more creativity, actually, to tell a real or true history about those animals at that time and in that place. For example, here the teens are likely just practicing how they’d pick the cub up like a mother would, practicing caring for a young one like they practice everything else while they’re maturing into full grown adults. The cub is part of the pride, they had no interest, then, to kill it. Their awkward grooming of it is not a sign they were contemplating murder lol. And at the end, the teen just wanted mom’s attention, that’s all. It just bugs me when film makers make predictors out to be merely or exclusively, blood thirsty killers; or worse, confused, incompetent failures (how they framed these teens). Rant over lol.
