Yeah it's surprisingly evolving pretty fast and can even reach 20 thousand average players a month which is INSANE for a 2006 game.

i know this is most likely not the message that the video tries to convey but this gives me a feeling of how we saw gmod when we were young, this game where you could create any scenario possible that looked as realistic as possible. Back then it was very simple and only used HL2 assets but now, with all the advancements in term of modding and talent, we can recreate exactly what we wanted to do as a kid. Its almost like if our toybox came to life i know this is cheesy but its the feeling i get

I remember using a poison zombie as a tank when i was making scenes/saves way before i knew how to install addons or figure out that i needed to buy L4D2 in order to get the model. Heck im pretty sure i recolored alyx green to make her look like a witch, and joined afew zombie survival maps just to get those maps
Gmod will forever be a timeless masterpiece, it'll keep evolving thanks to the community. There's, almost, no limit at all to this game

the scene with the combine soldier walking through felt so awesome. the moment he stands in line like everyone else reminds you he's no different from all the other combine soldiers.
I don't know why, but this feels so... artistic, in a way. The music added with the scenes just gives off a certin vibe, childhood memories come to life, things wanted that are now real. It's odd, but I oddly love it too.

Hey thank you man! I think both but for mods it's depends, so I suggest not to subscribe all mods in the collection. I also suggest not to use Reshade, if you want to increase FPS effectively. During the video I use Reshade but I only use the shadows and vibrant a little. So even if you not using Reshade, the results will be almost the same as mine.

No, I use Reshade but I only use the shadows, vibrant and a few others stuff. I also use high detail maps, so I guess that why it's look good...

Hey thank you man! You mean Split Screen or Multiplayer? If you mean Co-op/Multiplayer, I think it's will work fine like normal. While for splitscreen, I not that sure but I suggest not to subscribe to all addons because it's Maybe causing some performance issue

Hey thank you man! My Reshade effect brings too little difference almost to None and I love it! I'm more into gmod default graphics compared to most of the reshade presets out there. 4:32 that moment where the ai said wait while holding the gun felt immensely more disturbing than anything from the original mission from COD. something about that scene felt like he was there at the worst place and the worst time posssibly a hostage defending himself but for the swat side, waiting one second is the difference between life and death in that moment its shoot on sight if armed or else they would shoot you. i feel like if i was in that position of the officer something like that would have haunted me forever

My Reshade configuration actually doesn't have a lot of effects, I use the reflective, shadows, and vibrance effects only. So the graphics are mostly good because I use a Realistic and high detail map. Anyways If there a lot of requests, I will share it!

I find it pretty cringe that most "Gmod Realism" videos (which have sprung up like mushrooms in the last year) are literally just a few graphic enhancement plugins with the same fucking gun mods featuring animations ripped from COD/Tarkov, fighting metrocops and combine soldiers from HL2, reloading every 2 seconds and using the "look at gun" option every 10 seconds to remind you "hOw ReAlIsTiC tHiS sHiT iS" I think it's more impressive that train fans built an entire platform within GMod that lets you sit inside a fully detailed, fully working cockpit of a train and pick up passengers. Now that is more interesting.

The peak realism i got with Gmod was with npc global spawner and advanced npc AI on RP Asheville, mixed in with some gun mod it was amazing. Combine soldiers would rally, hold positions, make road blocks and patrol streets and zones in tiny groups, all this while i was trying to sneak away and kill some over long distances with a sniper rifle to not be spotted. It was better than most of those "realistic" fps games.
Yeah bro, it's feel like playing with our own imagination or create our own scenario probably the best gmod had compared to the other games.

I love GMOD because it's an endless game. I have played more than 2600 hours (in singleplayer mode) in steam in it and I don't regret it at all.
I want gmod to have a mod where you can make your own levels on the already made gmod maps (similar to DOOM 2016's snapmap just without the actual map creator). What I mean is like, you can place down modules and stuff for different story events to occur or something like that, I think that would be incredible, people could make full fledged campaigns in gmod.
That sound really good idea! I think that will make gmod more manageable and probably more fun. But I'm not sure if it's possible to create in the Source engine though.

Do you still have frame time issues or stuttering... I keep raising my frame cap and the dips keep happening, it's at a point where I can mostly stay above 60, but have to average 180+ or 240ish for a min of 90... Wouldn't mind the stutter so much save that if I put it on a graph and stare into space every few seconds there's a huge spike, and if it wasn't proportional again might bug me less... like damn it source... can't we just pick a minimum and stay there lol... I would love to be at a lock 60, but those frame drops bring me back to actual performance hits back in 04, which I think I had less of lol at least to scale... Seems to be lots of options to properly configure things, but they all do different things for different people for different problems, 64bit helped a ton... but at this point I feel like I could fit this game, all the mounted content, and all the addons I want, or have gotten rid of in the last few months into my ram lol and still run windows... even stock windows before I un-f-ed it's wana be cellphone memory pipe clogs... steam forums are a joke and alot of advice is either outdated or was nonsensical to begin with and it floats around being regurgitated from one place to another, so figured I would ask people like yall who have been doing this a while... I feel like I have less stutters and drops on a preconfigured fresh console port ue4 title lol... (also yes I've added all the multithreding basics in autoexe and the sound asyncs... even tried running legacy eax via the legacy dll program SB packs with it's drivers... (no performance change, but pretty sure that's a rabbit hole for after I get this figured out lol).
Yes but it depends, I usually stutter when I spawn a lot of NPCs or shoot one. And Yes, I think the frame rate limit will fix a lot of lag and stutter but I think it's ok since gmod in old engine. I try 64bit once and it does help a lot but unfortunately, my ReShade doesn't work with it. If you have a lot of addons, I suggest you to unsubscribe to not important or have a really big size. And If you have a lot of addons before, go to files and delete manually (just in case, if it doesn't delete by unsubscribe). Also before you do anything in gmod I suggest you do warmup by shooting NPCs, so it's will not stutter later. Sorry if this advice doesn't applies to you, but this all is from my experience to get smooth gameplay. @@FlizeStorm if you haven't tried in a while, I wouldn't be surprised if reshade works now for it.. they've made a lot of backend updates for reshade over the last few years.. concerning the apis and whatnot although that might be specific to the newer ones, I've always wanted how this game runs in opengl, it's it's a much older opengl variant but opengl was always like very underappreciated and underutilized, for some reason on a Windows platform go figure LOL... It wouldn't surprise me if this wasn't the best, cuz back then valve was on full on team DirectX, like that was kind of part of their point in making the first Half-Life was that you could do one of the most advanced visual and compute presentations on a Windows machine without bare metal drivers.. so I've always been curious but not curious enough to actually try LOL. I found an interesting balance for the frame cabinet it seems to reduce but not eliminate stuttering and it's gotten better and that is set your frame rate limiter in the control panel for your graphics card, set the vertical sink to fast sink or whatever the AMD equivalent is.. then set your in-game frame rate to something significantly less, and while there are still more drops than it is still proportional to frame rate.. it's not as wild, although I don't know if this works on the 32-bit version because you keep it version always had extreme frame drops no matter what.
Man, thanks to your video i've returned to Gmod. Great collection! Only problem i have is weird "V" with a dot crosshair, which i cant get rid of. Aby ideas which mod could add it? Thanks!

Just bought the game. Because i was broke before but i use to have this game but i bought it again and i missed it so much i and i didnt know the game can look like this i just downloaded the shaders and realism collection looked so cool i love this video memories.
