Sad truth : Most of the people don’t know that Jayasuriya had 300+ wickets in ODI cricket
That's correct
Most media ignore him and his greatness.
@@evanwilliam9582 Just like this very video of 4minutes wasted about 1 1/2 minutes showing him struggle in the first overs and dropped chances of an innings of 122 with many boundaries. Any they tittles the video has “Sanath Blast the SCG”. Typical Aussies.
323 wickets in 445 games. Works out just under three wickets every four ODI’s; though as an all rounder averaging just under 33 in 445 matches with 28 centuries and 68 fifties, it’s pretty good.

Sanath Jayasuriya Brought The Aggression To ODI Cricket When He Coupled With Ramesh Kaluwitharana
Exactly ❤️👌🇱🇰
the shot at 1:59 is the trademark of sanath. Just beautiful to watch.
That shot! You know that is going for a six, no doubting that!
Adnan Malik flick 🔥
❤️👌🇱🇰
That is the spl shot made by him so easy for him only
@Son of Jacob havent really watched viv play so cant say much about him but after i started seriously following cricket in 96 only sanath and saeed anwar come to mind when u talk about that shot.. Anwar played it along the ground more though.
Real Legend.. Very underrated according to me. A pure dashing batsmen with enormous class..
people knew him just bcoz he hits hard😂
Jayasuriya in this innings had plenty of luck!! But that takes nothing away from the blistering knock he played!! What.A.Player!!
I m Indian. One of my relative named his son Jayasuriya when he was born in 1996 because he was a big fan of sanath Jayasuriya. And that relative was my dad's cousin Maama who married after crossing 50 years of age
Are you Tamil or Malayalam?
K. Kuinsan no. Y?
K. Kuinsan I m a kannadiga
K. Kuinsan . He was fan of Jayasuriya's aggressive batting
@@atulshetty3127 You said Mama and that's why I asked you. because Tamils and Malayalees are called that word (Mama). so that's why I asked. I'm Srilanka
Thank you jayasuriya for giving us such wonderful memories in our childhood 👏🖤
He's bowling was a bonus. He won lots of matches singlehandedly with the bat.But who can forget probably he's most important wicket at the 1996 world cup semifinals at Eden Gardens, when India was cruising to victory, he got the great Sachin who heading for a big score stumped down the leg side. That wicket changed the match, Sri lanka entered the finals and won the worldcup.
Everyone forgets, this guy has more wickets than Shane Warne. one of the best all rounders ever played the sport.
Wth are u talking about ?
@@parijatmajumdar68 fact
That is true, but Warne played only 194 matches and bowled 10,642 balls and got 293 wickets, but Jayasuriya played 445 matches, bowled 14,874 balls and got 323 wickets. Jayasuryia is still a legend though.
@@Alpha-wr6jm lol bowling average just under 34 so we all know Warne is a clear winner
@@Alpha-wr6jm Sanath did that while scoring over 13000 Runs as well. Just saying.

15 overs of powerplay and this guy taught everyone how to score runs in those overs. Huge fan of him
An absolute delight to watch, that's Jayasuriya for you! Love from India. 🥂
Sanath Jayasuriya had also taken 4 wickets with a figure of 10-1-39-4 in that match and SL had an comfortable win by 79 runs.
Yesterday watched him in the match Sri Lanka legends vs west indies legends
One of my favourite players in International cricket.
Not to mention the 4-39 in 10 overs he took in the same match..... This has to be the highest contribution by any player in a single match
Sachin 141 and 4-38 vs Australia at Dhaka 1998
Sourav ganguly 130 not out and 4-21 against sri lanka 1999.
100 + odd 6 wickets By Paul Collingwood
@thanu SCG is a spin friendly pitch though

The golden era of Sri Lankan Cricket!!!
Sanath deals only in boundaries n sixers.... He is the batsmen in 2000 itself who played like t20 cricket......
Absolute terror when he is in charge!!!
3:26 wow He played switch hit in 2003
He tried to play it in last month road safety series final too
Man Bichel was an amazing bowler! Stuck in the wrong era, but him being a 90's/00's player, just made our depth that much stronger!
jayasuriya was out lbw and dropped also..very difficult to play against world champion australia
He was a good finisher too..
The great man I literally used to cry when he mercilessly used to smash our Indian team bowlers
Sanath Jaisurya powerplay batting is the reason we are seeing T20 today.
Watson's reaction as if he got a fifer..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Deserved...dropped twice on his bowling.
@Saurav Narresh Yes but his reaction here is justified considering Sanath was dropped twice in his bowling.
@@mrHunleashesHELL That's The pressure sanath puts on opposite sides
@@oshadaekanayake4189 Exactly , every team's priority when facing Sri Lanka is getting Sanath out. He is totally unpredictable when it comes to competition.
Privilege watching the man. Always loved that Sri Lankan team. All of us here in Aus have Sri Lankan friends, all lovely people.
Jayasurya is on fire. Explosive batting with less effort. What a power he had in his arms. I saw mannier times 6 runs in his very easy flicks. very humble and grounded Legendry player ❤️👏

1 of the best cricketor in the world
look at the scoreboard on 33th over in 2000 cricket time.. power of sanath
Ranjithan 530 Even Atapattu was probably matching him shot for shot in this innings as the team score was 200 when Jayasuriya reached his ton. A rarity!
i meant 20's time
it also against the best team in the world.
Btw its 3rd
343/5 was scoreboard of sri Lanka

what a player he was just awesome 👌
He is a legend one of my favorite players from srilanka... Very dangerous batsman... Love you sanath sir.
Jayasurya and Slater were really the prototype explosive openers of the 90's pre Gayle/Sewhag/Afridi etc
Power of the Sri Lanka❤❤❤
My favourite srilankan batsman,, love from india💚💚
Quick scoring indeed!! But he scored his 100th run when SL were 202! Atapattu also should be around 100, given the fact that the Aussies didn't bowl like 20 wides
Saw each & every ball. Those balls reaching the boundaries were a treat to watch. Jaya sir was great to watch. Love feom india.

Great innings by SL master blaster. Look at the ball tracking technology those days 😮

Jaya was true entertainer and the best batsman on off side
Jayasuriya's batting coach: Play the ball close to your body Jayasuriya: Nah macha, I am good!
ya it was famous no one could couch him. he got his batting style that cricket has not seen before. So Ranathunga just let him go naturally without trying to change it.
King of sixes at that time

Edged and taken! it can't be out it pitched outside leg
Well its cricket my friend! 1996 worldcup qualification round Tendulkars stumping was out but 3rd umpire said "not out" no point complaining, cricket needs luck as same as other games.
