Tune in to hear about her exciting new journey and see how Ghana entreprenuership can change your life for the better!
Amma Mensah
London Born Ghanaian entrepreneur Amma Mensah is a trailblazing social innovator. In 2020 she returned home and took over one of West Africa's largest organic farms and distilleries producing sugarcane, cashew, rum & brandy. She is the founder of the world’s first African luxury rum brand from Ghana, REIGN. Reign is created at a 2000-acre certified organic farm and distillery in the Asante Kingdom; a powerful recognition of African royalty, culture, and values.
In the 1st 2years, she sold 20,000+ liters of rum, halved the company's losses & simultaneously increase the salaries of African farmers by 50%. Amma is also the youngest board member of UnLtd a £150M fund investing in social innovators across the UK A seasoned public speaker & guest lecturer at Cambridge University. The UK House of Parliament & TED X In 2019 she was headhunted and awarded a full scholarship to join The London School of Economics (LSE) Exec. Masters in Social Business & Entrepreneurship.
Since Amma Mensah took over the running of this nearly 2,000-acre farm & distillery 3 years ago, & launched Reign just this year; Dentaa & her team are the first external film crew invited in to take a look around. The ReignForest Farm & Distillery exists to realise value for African farmers through the creation of a meticulously designed African luxury beverage & lifestyle brand, Reign. “From grass to glass we exist to empower the farmers, Distillers & consumers of our regal nectar” is her motto.
Amma’s purpose-driven vision for the future of African agriculture is already starting to bear fruit, both here in Ghana & globally. But…there is still plenty of work to be done. Amma has taken over an almost deserted business & is at the very beginning of her journey.

    • @mikelsibs492: Hi hello meet me Tim Aldred. My name you may recognized is not African. Why, I was born in Jamaica to African Christian parents. Yes the diaspora slave victims. I'm no more the believing lethal Christian. I have gotten into world history, it reveals to me how easy it is to get red of the Uncivilized hominid-primate-Bi-pedal. However, we must get to know our prehistory, to clad in the history that has been, in many ways kept obscured from us. I live in America. If you like to communicate, with thoughts such I stated, free we will connect. Counting the Dead: Estimating the Loss of Life in the Indigenous Holocaust, 1492-Present David Michael Smith University of Houston-Downtown During the past century, researchers have learned a great deal about the nature and scope of what Russell Thornton has called the demographic collapse of the Indigenous population in the Western Hemisphere after 1492.1 As David Stannard has explained, the almost inconceivable number of deaths caused by the invasion and conquest of these lands by Europeans and their descendants constitute “the worst human holocaust the world had ever witnessed.”2 Scholars have long had reliable information on the size of the Indigenous population in this hemisphere and this country at its nadir around the turn of the twentieth century. And in recent decades, investigators have developed a range of estimates of the Native population in the Western Hemisphere before 1492. Researchers have also amassed considerable knowledge about the role of diseases, wars, genocidal violence, enslavement, forced relocations, the destruction of food sources, the devastation of ways of life, declining birth rates, and other factors in the Indigenous Holocaust.3 This paper draws on the work of Russell Thornton, David Stannard, and other scholars in attempting to count the dead-that is, in developing informed and reasonable, if very rough, estimates of the total loss of Indigenous lives caused by colonialism in the Western Hemisphere and in what is today the United States of America. Although this analysis is inevitably grim and saddening, there is much to be gained by understanding the most sustained loss of life in human history-both for people living today and for future generations. In addition to the deadly impact of diseases, wars, and genocide, Thornton has emphasized that many Indigenous nations in what is today the United States were “removed, relocated, dispersed, concentrated, or forced to migrate at least once after contact with Europeans or Americans.”47 And he has observed that the forced removal of over 100,000 Indigenous people to areas west of the Mississippi River during the first half of the nineteenth century directly resulted in significant loss of life.48 Moreover, such removals and relocations destroyed Indigenous people’s ways of life, which resulted in substantial additional loss of life.49 Other devastating assaults on these ways of life included the Spanish missions in California, Florida, and Texas; the U.S. government’s attempts to make Plains Indians into cattle ranchers and southern Indians into American farmers…efforts by churches and governments to undermine Indian religious, governmental, and kinship systems… the often-deliberate destructions of flora and fauna that American Indians used for food and other purposes…the near extinction of the buffalo…50 Widespread starvation and malnutrition, the deleterious effects of forced labor, alcoholism, demoralization and despair, declining fertility, and other factors also contributed to the Indigenous Holocaust.5

With a greater portfolio with maybe chocolates, whisky, beer etc she could someday challenge big distilleries like SAB, Miller etc. Next year I am unveiling revolutionary aviation design concepts, then soon aviation products of a superior nature. Investment a stumbling block meantime though.

    • The continent called Africa is rich in natural resources. People have made themselves rich, generationally wealthy, and culturally significant off the continent of "Africa." Before it was "Africa" it served as the ground from which man was formed, and humankind was given birth to. Africans did not make a lot of people rich. A lot of people made themselves rich off the people who populated "Africa." Good to see people make something to make themselves "rich."

    • Great. Is hubby the only child?. We all have our lives to live once we plan it well. Regrets is the master devil. Do what you want to do there must be a way to solve other issues. My aunty left opportunities to focus to train her children, her children turned out well but she is always complaining of all the opportunities she missed. You need to balance life. My neighbour will be going to UK in 2 weeks time to start her PhD. She has 2 children they are both in primary school. She will come for them after 6 months. Her hubby will be visiting them . My own daughter will be going for her Masters. She has 2 children but she will come for them after a year and her hubby will be visiting. If you dont take a bold step you will remain where you are . My point let hubby's mum not be your excuse for you not to live your purpose in life. I am waiting for my son to be 18 then i will tour the world by ship. My prayer is may God support our efforts and give us life, good health and resources.

For as long as Africans COLLUDE with IMPERIALIST interests on this continent, this continent will REMAIN A SLAVE CONTINENT, because she is MERELY working for IMPERIALISTS to benefit herself and family WHILE DESTROYING her ENTIRE RACE and COMMUNITY!....so who is THE FOOL HERE? WHITE LIQUEUR companies targeting WHITE clubs, are ALWAYS almost 0.1% ALCOHOL because its only meant for SOCIALIZING purposes but IN Africa they make sure the LIQUEUR content is up to 20% thereby DESTROYING the LIVER, and KIDNEYS of the MAJORITY of those who drink as these %ages turn them into PERMANENT ALCOHOLICS. This is why they promote LOCAL LIQUER making in the poorest communities to KEEP THEM BRAINLESS and STUPID while the COLONIZERS RAPE the MOTHER land... when will Africa LEARN who her TRUE ENEMIES ARE and HOW they manipulate and use BIG MONEY to DESTROY those they intend to PERMANENTLY SUBJUGATE? HOW can a WOMAN SERVE her own children these kinds of POISONS in the name of MAKING MONEY and providing jobs to a FEW people who then proceed to DESTROY the ENTIRE COMMUNITY in that area so that they will NEVER RISE and DEMAND their LAND BACK? What is WRONG with this continent?!! TRY as a BLACK African to go to EUrope, India, China Middle East and USE a LOCAL to open a DISTILLERY there supposedly to provide the LOCALS with BOOZ and SEE how YOU will NEVER even get THAT LOCAL let alone A LICENSE to POISON their own people FOR YOUR OWN PROFIT!...ALWAYS FLIP the COIN Of whatever "deal" you are offered and you will SEE the ACTUAL MALVOLENCE laced in he "deal" so you can AVOID DESTROYING your own in the name of short term gain! BLACKS should NEVER also DRINK the LIQUERS of WHITE people as they only sell to Africans those which are TOCIX in their HIGH QUANTITIES of LIQUER compared to the ones they sell the WHITES< even though they all seem to be in the SAME place!!

    • I heard is not as easy as it appears to own land or business in Africa due to the Tribes elders & chiefs one must go through to supposedly own whatever the parcels of land agreed upon & then since there's no written records of any ancestry to the land it's like it can be taken away at any time due to those rules overthere so in reality is like the foreigners are only renting it for years if need be but after that not sure if your children can inherit those lands it'll be given back to the village elders them is the info I'm getting but the info could be mistaken or maybe it depends on the region in Africa etc

      @ODIJAY77@ODIJAY7711 ай бұрын
    • Hi, that doesn’t happen in all countries. Some lands are government owned and you don’t necessarily have to go through the chiefs to purchase. Some lands are definitely family owned so you’d have to get in touch with that particular land owner if you wanna buy it. The thing is though title deeds can easily be doctored, that’s where you need to do your due diligence. Just contributing to this from a Kenyan perspective.

  • So proud of Ama. I know a lady who planned a huge gari factory in Africa . She completed all the requirements with the local chieftains, got the factory going, provided great working force in the village with jobs, improving the lot and economic value of the village. A year later, when she had just started reaping her profits, youths destroyed the farm, tractors the lot out of jealousy. A most stupid act, I dare say, to the detriment of the village. This broke her heart as she had set up the farm in memory of her mum whom she had lost at the age of 4. She died soon after of cancer. RIP Lady Shapiro. Do your research into the area before you embark.

It’s called, “puberty.” Fortunately, all young people don’t go through this destructive ritual. Traditionally white people don’t report it and it goes unnoticed as it’s called a rite of passage and they certainly get a pass from law enforcement. So, rethink the often misquoted, “worst enemy theory,” please.

    • THEN CLEARLY this is precisely WHY they REMAIN IN PAIN 500yrs or more LATER! they NEVER WOKE UP from this DRUNKEN STUPOR! That "RUM PRIDE" is the REASON Africans both in AFRICA and the DIASPORA will forever REMAIN ON THEIR KNEED TOO DRUNKEN to THINK!! who their REAL ENEMIES are!THEY ARE TURNING THEIR OWN PEOPLE INTO the famous DRUNKEN ALCOHOLICS continent of the "DRUNKARDS OF EPHRAIM"-(Isa 28:7-10; Isa 56:10-12)???!!! she's DESTROYING her own people with DRUNKENNESS-did you hear that? 17% ALCOHOL???!!! MOST White booz is hardly ever above 7%!! and usually even that is A LIE as MOST are 0.1% because if purely meant for SOCIALISING Purposes but BLACKS?!! TOO STUPID they drink all that ALCOHOL and think their LIVERS will SURVIVE the ONSLAUGHT?!! Africa is IDIOTIC as EVER, and EDUCATION and TRAVEL NEVER seems to help EVER! PERFECT RECIPE for the TOTAL CORRUPTION of a NATION, is to TARGET the 15-45yr old YOUNG STRONG HEALTHY with DRUNKENNESS and DEBAUCHERY! SADLY this is NOT a business to BENEFIT GHANA but to enable the CONTINUITY of SETTLER COLONIALISTS who are the REAL INVESTORS on the LAND they STOLE from the GHANAIAN FOREFATHERS, and don't want to LET GO, so they FIND A POOR, MISGUIDED GREEDY or GULLIBLE Ghanaian as a MASCOT-CEO to INVEST in the LAND. The IMPERIALISTS who want a DRUNKEN Africa, then put on the DISGUISE of the BLACK "owner" to WINDOW DRESS their DIRTY business deals. This is why they promote LOCAL LIQUEUR making in the poorest communities to KEEP THEM BRAINLESS and STUPID while the COLONIZERS RAPE the MOTHER land... when will Africa LEARN who her TRUE ENEMIES ARE and HOW they manipulate and use BIG MONEY to DESTROY those they intend to PERMANENTLY SUBJUGATE? HOW can a WOMAN SERVE her own children these kinds of POISONS in the name of MAKING MONEY and providing jobs to a FEW people who then proceed to DESTROY the ENTIRE COMMUNITY in that area so that they will NEVER RISE and DEMAND their LAND BACK? What is WRONG with this continent?!! TRY as a BLACK African to go to Europe, India, China Middle East and USE a LOCAL to open a DISTILLERY there supposedly to provide the LOCALS with BOOZ and SEE how YOU will NEVER even get THAT LOCAL let alone A LICENSE to POISON their own people FOR YOUR OWN PROFIT!...ALWAYS FLIP the COIN Of whatever "deal" you are offered and you will SEE the ACTUAL MALEVOLENCE laced in he "deal" so you can AVOID DESTROYING your own in the name of short term gain! BLACKS should NEVER also DRINK the LIQUEURS of WHITE people as they only sell to Africans those which are TOCIX in their HIGH QUANTITIES of LIQUER compared to the ones they sell the WHITES< even though they all seem to be in the SAME place!!

However, if you want to be the owner of the school, the hospital or the distillery, it will be nearly impossible.
