1. Strip out summary paragraphs from research
2. Reorder summary paragraphs for the literature review
3. Combine paragraphs if necessary
4. Add topic sentences and transitions to form literature review's body paragraphs
5. Add introduction and conclusion paragraphs to complete the literature review
The literature review does not have to be a daunting or mysterious academic assignment. As a matter of fact, the so-called "literature review" is a common task in the professional workplace but is called a "backgrounder" or "background research" instead of a literature review. The video provides a real-world example of writing a practical literature review as an HR employee in an IT company.
Stop being intimidated by what is actually an easy assignment by learning what a literature review really is and how to do one quickly and easily.

    • @@peakdavid Sir, sincerely, thanks you so much for your great videos. We still need some help, I hope you could do couple of videos about: building up academic writing skills in general from scratch, how to summarize a journal article before starting writing a Literature review, how to take notes during a lecture, how to read faster, how to scan and skim through our readings, how to summarize .. etc. We as international students didn't learn such skills properly in our home countries, and we do suffer once we get such assignments. The way you teach make things extremely simple and easy. I hope you could read my comment. Thank you very much once again, we do really appreciate it thank you sir. :)

  • This was an unbelievable help. I had to write a 10 page literature review in approximately 24 hours because like any good grad student, I procrastinated. What I saw as a daunting task was quickly made easier after watching this video. I broke down 10 different peer reviewed journal articles into their own segments, then combined them. Added an intro and a conclusion and voila I was over 10 pages. I might make it through grad school after all.

I have roughly 24 hours to complete a 1,500-word literature review and I have been feeling so down, staring at my blank word document, having no idea where to start. You have no idea for how long I've been struggling with writing... especially this chapter, along with life events, the pandemic, and as an independent international student in the US... OVERWHELMING. I am 15 pages short in my Lit Review (out of 40), and with his steps, I feel relieved as it makes it easier and clearer to just follow and apply! Hopefully, I finish it before August starts. THIS 17-MINUTE VIDEO SHOULD BE A SEMINAR IN EVERY DOCTORAL PROGRAM. THANK YOU A MILLION.
