  • 7:34 "...we also have a car that abruptly switches lanes without looking...". Technically that is true but you skipped a part of the chain of events. There were TWO cars in the right lane. When the first bike flew by, the first car hammered the brakes, so the second car had to swerve hard to avoid hitting the first car. So yes, this car abruptly switched lanes without looking like you said, but this car *didn't have time* to look, because he was following way too closely, so when the car in front of him braked hard, his only option was to make a very fast lane change. Also note that the bike doesn't actually hit the car, instead, the rider goes over the handlebars because of panic braking. This is why the bike comes from behind her (normally the bike is in front of the rider). All of these things had to happen for this outcome: Bike 1 riding way too fast. Bike 1 has poor traffic insight and passing cars too closely. Car 1 panic brakes when bike 1 flies past too closely. Car 2 following way too closely. Car 2 making a hard swerve to avoid car 1. Bike 2 riding way too fast. Bike 2 has poor traffic insight and tries to pass cars too closely. Bike 2 hasn't practiced emergency braking. Bike 2 swerves just enough to avoid hitting car, but endo's because of panic braking. If you remove *any* of the above events, the crash would not have happened.

    • To be fair the car didn't use their blinker to indicate they were switching lanes, and then did so rather abruptly without looking first. Fast or not, LED headlights on high are easy to see in the rear view and side mirror for at least a mile. I'd argue they had at least some time to react, had they looked first. Also if they bothered to use their turn signal, it would have given the motorcycleist more time to react as well. Don't get me wrong, the motorcyelist is at fault too for speeding in the first place and for riding beyond her abilites.

  • I'm actually amazed this same video @ 7:30 was shown as a clip showing her going down and such and how she went outside her skill level, tbh she didn't and did all at the same time. It takes skill and common sense to understand you don't go speeding down a road at night, I don't care if that shit is so lit up you can see it from space it doesn't matter, drivers really wont see you. The next thing that happened is she panicked and grabbed way too much front brake which led to her crash. I have been stupid myself in my younger years doing exactly what she did but never had this happen and looking back on it I am really surprised I didn't end up dead because of it. The common sense part of this is obviously don't speed in traffic at night, the skill is being able to move at a seconds notice and to slow down without throwing yourself off the bike. I suggest any new riders to go to the track and take a couple track days to learn, you don't have to be a racer to do track days but they help you prepare and show you how to properly use your motorcycle in a safe environment. Am I saying that would have helped this particular rider? no, as no matter what things can happen beyond our control you just have to be smart

  • 2:28 - Calling others stupid while illegally splitting on the two sets of double solids? How can he not see you? Because you're riding between two lanes of cars, it's hard to see motorcycles when they split. That's the plain facts and that's why you're supposed to do it at low speeds and not have a speed differential of more than 10mph while doing so. Complete ignorance. 3:40 - Speed limit sign says 40mph, road curve sign advises 30mph around the curves, the cammer increases speed to over 80mph. 5:25 - We can speak as to whether we think the biker did anything wrong, because the reason why he was pulled over (allegedly hitting a pothole) was not included in the clip. It went straight from the stoplight to him being pulled over however long later it was, with nothing in between.

Iḿ pretty sure, that 120 mp/h are not allowed there... or anywhere. 2nd, The dude in the clack car had to sverve lanes to avoid crashing into the car taking the exit (idk how that even was able to happen) But at the end of the day, there are 2 simple things that could've avoided that accident: 1. and most important: not exeeding the speed limit. When she would have been 30 mph slower, she would have avoided that car for sure or wouldn't even been there at the time of the accident. And, 2. If she had at least a kevlar jeans on, she would have suffered a lot less injuries, if not even none at all

I am luck to never got into a crash or a fall or even a ticket, but I have to say, 90% of these accidents I see on youtube is mainly the riders fault. You want to race, you want to go above the speed limit, get on a track dude. Plenty of fun. The other 10% is just bad bad luck when you are sitting on a traffic light and a car or a truck just hit on you. One more thing. When I ride, o phones, no distractions, 100% focus on the roads and curves.

  • Notice how the driver doesn't stop because It's not his fault and there was no collision. He should've called 911 anyways, but maybe he did and we just can't see it on film. The car in front of him breaks for the exit, so he signals and switches lanes. It was abrupt, but not as abrupt at a biker flying past you at 150 wearing all black at night. She was so far back that any reasonable person would've thought it safe to switch lanes. It's not his fault that she's speeding. That is if he even saw her. under favorable conditions It's still hard, if not impossible, for the human eye to detect something that fast in good time. Especially at night in all black! It's basic biology, and everybody should know this but especially riders! Just like every biker should prepare and wear the right gear, and not pants that are functionally as protective as a pair of gym shorts with all those holes. I like when he say's the car - "Abruptly switches lanes without looking." like we can somehow gauge the attentiveness of the driver based on this footage. I'd say he was pretty attentive, considering how he didn't plow into the car in front of him that was breaking, and moved over at a legal, reasonable speed into an empty lane. I hope the rider learns from her mistake and makes sure not to fly by cars so closely. She could've just as easily re-entered the left lane after she passed the black truck and been a lot safer for herself, as well as more visible and predictable for other drivers. It's crazy how when you're in the slow lane you don't expect someone to rock up 150mph on you! You know, during hunting season I like to hike around the woods dressed in full camouflage so when hunters inevitably don't see me and shoot I can say - "You abruptly shot at me without looking! Making it difficult for the hikers to avoid the bullets!!!"

  • It's funny to me, the people saying they would've worn racing gear when going 120 like the chick in the last video, but not necessarily at lower speeds. The best part about this to me, is that riding gear is the only smart option at any time. Quite a lot, if not the majority of motorcycle accidents happen within a mile or so of home, and this general means at lower speeds, and probably a smaller trip. People are less likely to wear heavy protect gear on smaller trips because of the time it takes, but a car t-boning you at any speed could kill you without a helmet, break bones (elbow, knees, back, feet, and hands all safer with full gear), and grind your skin away. Falling off the bike and hitting your head on the curb could kill you if you had no helmet on. The reality is that just like driving a car, riding a motorcycle has inherent risks, and it's up to our own person to evaluate, determine, and proceed with the ride and gear as we see fit. I personally would will always recommend full gear to anyone, for any ride, but I also won't deny riding to work without an armored jacket or pants, skipping boots when I'm late, etc. Nobody expects to get on the bike and die, so that's why we have the cliche saying of "Dress for the slide, not for the ride".
