The 'Tipped pass that should have been intercepted" was a perfect throw. Aiyuk was bumped while the ball was in the air. I guarantee you Kyle didn't tell Purdy to run more. Brock Purdy decided .
That flag that flew was a pass interference call on the DB. If it had intercepted it, it would have been negated.
That's exactly what I'm saying. How do you watch that play and say it should have been picked? No, it was DPI and called DPI, if there was no contact, it would have been right there. Aiyuk still almost had a hand on it.

@xomthood I literally just typed the same message before I scrolled and saw your message. How these so called analyst not talking about that or see that. That pass by Purdy was a perfect throw and would have hit Aiyuk dead in the hands were it not for the PI from the defender bumping him during the route right before the ball got there. That bump was just enough to stop his momentum and progression and make it look like an under thrown ball. Even the announcer said it was DPI and the reason the ref threw the flag. You can't bump that far down field. They ended up picking the flag up but it was PI. And it bounced off dude helmet because Aiyuk made two excellent plays. One by becoming the defender and getting his hands in front of the guys face causing it to bounce off his helmet. And the second by staying focused on the ball and making that spectacular catch. Great throw and great catch!

Brock Purdy's first season as a starting QB was undefeated until the NFC championship Eagles game with an elbow injury. The second season took the 49ers team to the Super Bowl. That's an amazing accomplishment!

Dude went from being Mr. Irrelevant to leading the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl! In 84 he had 3 interceptions again in the Divisional round against the Giants, still won that game. Lost in the NFCCG the next game though. I'll say this though, even if Purdy plays his most average of check down type football he could possibly play, and it's enough to beat Mahomes' Chiefs... Not only is Purdy winning, but he is winning in spite of plays breaking down and in spite of poor defensive play. Two things that normally carried the day back when this was Jimmy G's team. He broke Kyle's comeback curse last week and now it feels like the sky is the limit. The 49ers finally have their franchise QB.

Great throw by Purdy to Aiyuk 1:1. Not sure why people are ignoring the blatant PI that slowed the receiver down.
Aiyuk catch was defensive PI anyhow, the ball was placed on target where Aiyuk was supposed to be, again DPI.

No, that play down field by Aiyuk was not an under thrown ball. There was a PI by the defender that affected Aiyuk getting to the spot the ball was thrown to. Go back and look and you'll see the guy bump Aiyuk before the ball got there. That bump stopped his progression and is illegal. That's why that flag was thrown. Even the announcer said it was DPI. They ended up picking the flag up. But it didn't matter because Aiyuk made a spectacular play.
It's wrong to say the long pass to Aiyuk was a mistake. It was defensive PI (and the ref threw the flag) that had BA behind the ball. When he caught it anyhow, the ref picked up the flag. But that was a well thrown ball. (Though the defender WAS there, so it was a 50/50 ball.)

That bounced pass was due to defensive pass interference when Aiyuk got pushed on the chest to slow him down. That is why there was a freaking flag on the play. The flag got picked up by the ref since he ended up catching the pass. The 49ers would be inside the 10 either way.
If we’re keepin it real, the tipped pass to Aiyuk was a PERFECT pass accuracy wise. BA gets bumped and slows up, ref’s throws a flag, which later gets picked up, but in terms of accuracy it was perfect. Given the defenders positioning maybe it should have been under thrown.
