Relive the full final of a new track and field discipline - the mixed 4x400m event! The inaugural 4x400m mixed relay at the Olympic Games came to an exhilarating climax, with Poland claiming the title with a winning time of three minutes and 9.87 seconds (3:09.87). The Poles were followed by the Dominican Republic in second place (3:10.21) with the United States bagging the bronze in 3:10.22. Running the anchor leg, Kajetan Duszynski crossed in first place to claim Poland's second medal in a 4x400m relay at the Olympic Games, adding to silver in the men's 4x400m relay back in 1976.
🥇 Poland 🇵🇱 3:09:87

    @rjh6037@rjh60372 жыл бұрын
    • Pool of talent in USA or Jamaica? Perhaps in North America talent is measured by the most advanced doping systems. Top 5 fastest Americans, 4 of the top 5 Jamaicans, Caribbeaners, the fastest Canadian etc ever have all been disqualified/banned/had hundreds of allegations against them. Out of this list only Bolt has never been caught but you have to be incredibly naive to think he was clean.

      @hristo5689@hristo56892 жыл бұрын
    • @@hristo5689 Agree. Study the history of sprinting. Only after the drug programs of the East Germans and Soviets have USA/Jamaica totally dominated sprints up to 400m. Before the 1990's no sprinter competed in 3 or more Olympics let alone medalled in more than 2 at same distance yet now they compete men/women in 4 or even 5 Olympics and make finals and medal. Not hard to work out why. Only 2 countries do their own drug testing out of international meets. USA/Jamaica. All other nations allow WADA testers to randomly test in unannounced testing out of competition 365 days of the year. USA/Jamaica refuse to allow this. And who dominates since WADA policy came in - USA/Jamaica. Draw your own conclusions.

      @saintsone7877@saintsone78772 жыл бұрын
    • @@saintsone7877 yeah, I’ve watched multiple interviews with professional athletes saying that obviously the place where doping is by far the most widespread and perfected is the US and that’s where MANY athletes from around the world get their supplies from or emigrate to. The most successful American sprinters are of African ethnicity but no African has even been in the conversation about the best sprinters. Of course you can fall for “Africans have genetics for long distances” or other fairy tales but steroids are the only factor. I mean there’s a reason why before 2021 no Kenyan in history broke a 10,10 barrier and exactly a month ago Ferdinand Omayala set the record for 9,86s (edit: 9,77 since 18th September). The same guy got 14 months suspension in 2017 for testing positive. None of that has anything to do with genetics. It’s just a joke of a competition between chemists.

    • HARDLY an upset when it's a meaningless "victory". Every single time the U.S. feels like winning this event, they will. Just look at their incredible dominance in BOTH 4x400 relays. AND the individual 400 medals....

      @efisgpr@efisgpr2 жыл бұрын
    • @@efisgpr Except for the fact the USA thought it WOULD win this event with those it chose to use in the event. Based on times those representing USA had faster times than any other nations competitors and were overwhelming favourites to win. You and some others stating similar simply cannot accept that on the day the USA "Stars" did not perform as expected and "only" came 3rd. As for it being a "meaningless victory" just look at the record books sunshine. Who appear as the 1st Gold Medallists in that event at the Olympic Games? POLAND. USA can win it at every Games from hereon in yet they will NEVER be the FIRST EVER to win the event. And you say that is "meaningless". I dare say you suffer a fair amount of Cognitive Dissonance if that is your 'REAL" take. And just remember all runners for USA did not run the qualifier and were totally fresh whereas 2 Polish runners were backing up. They simply did not perform as expected on the day.

But sheer will, ambition and hunger made him break an olympic record. First I smiled when I saw it later on I had tears in my eyes, because it made me very proud of a Person I had never calculated winning. AMAZING literally 6:35 poetry in motion heart breaking when you know how much he worked for it.
