Diving with John Dory at Punta Secca Shoal in Giannutri Island

The Secca di Punta Secca is perhaps one of the most iconic dives on Giannutri Island.
Its particular location makes it one of the most popular dives on the island triggering, within the community of technical divers who frequent the Argentario, a love-hate relationship towards it.
The many hours spent on its seabed allowed us to identify a small resident community of John Dory (Zeus faber) that has found in the complexity of the Lytocarpia forest the ideal place to hide and hunt. The Zeus faber is a voracious piscivore, and the large colonies of Lytocarpia probably facilitate it in ambushes.
