Therapist Reacts to Nothing More - HOUSE ON SAND

2024 ж. 22 Сәу.
8 409 Рет қаралды

Therapist analyzes the lyrics of House On Sand by Nothing More to discuss that often when we build our lives on a foundation that isn't firm everything crumbles when the storm comes. This song gives us an anthem to listen to as we "build my life again". It's a call to rebuild on something firmer.

  • This song dropped the day my Stepdad abandoned my ma, sister, and I. I was on the job when my mom called me telling me what happened and she said, "I don't know what to do." This song really gave me the courage to know what to do. Since then all I've done is pick up the pieces and it feels great.

  • Just discovered this band through this song and am really enjoying them. You're the first reaction to it I've seen that immediately got the significance of the Alan Watt's spoken word sample in the intro. Super powerful sentiment and sets up the lyrical themes of the song really well. Great video!

  • Great reaction video. A couple other songs from Nothing More that may fit the theme (mental health/mindset) of your channel; Jenny, Fade In/Fade Out, God Went North, If it Doesn't Hurt, I'll Be OK. Would love to hear and see your take on those songs 😀

  • 2:03 .... did ya notice Allan Watts image being used after his words of wisdom. It was a nice touch to show his image since most people would never place the face to the words of a true philosopher

  • Damn I love your energy in this one! I did not see you as a nothing more fan haha Love it. But yes this message is so powerful, I was in a bad space earlier this year, the lowest of my life and with the support of my family and my faith in God, I am currently rebuilding and setting myself up for a better life that is truly worth living for!

  • This is genuinely turning into one of my favourite channels due to the content and your reactions. I’d like to recommend “Poet and the Pendulum” live at Wembley by Nightwish. It is not the normal song people start with when it comes to Nightwish, however it is the song that suits this channel the most as it deals with depression and struggle. It was written by Nightwish’s song writer the keyboardist Tuomas during the hardest time in the bands history and he basically ended his life in the song to stop himself doing it in real life, however the new song finishes positively with a new beginning. It is one of the best written pieces of music you will come across and is broken into Acts. I won’t say more about it. Nightwish hold the record for most reacted song in KZhead history with “Ghost Love Score” (normally what people start their Nightwish journey with. However, as previously mentioned, “Poet” suits this channel perfectly, especially if the research is done on the songs meaning beforehand.

  • I love that you also cover lesser known bands. I was really surprised to see you cover this one, but I'm so glad you did. I think you would have a field day with their song "Jenny", but fair warning, it would probably be a loooooong video. 😆 You might also like senses Fail, awesome band. Lots of songs about not repeating parents' mistakes, achohol and other types of abuse, biblical references, etc. Love your stuff. Looking forward to your next video :)

  • The guy talking at the beginning of the song is 20th century British philosopher Alan Watts. He was heavily influenced by Eastern philosophy. My favorite thing he taught is 'The Art of Not Trying'. Life changing way to look at the world. Castaway Angels by Leprous Graves by Caligula's Horse

  • This song has come at the perfect time for me. On the outside I was kicking goals but on the inside my Trauma was still controlling me and holding me back. Now I feel like I have conquered it. I've remember what is important to the true me. That one I've always been but have been hiding, protecting. Now I embrace love and support it. My confidence has never been higher. My goals are shifting to who I really am and not just doing what I thought was best. I'm goingto take chances to embrace the person who I truly am. My house is no longer built on sand.

  • @heartsupport it is so hard to let go of control and try to control my families environment so they are all happy.

    @adamharding2934@adamharding293424 күн бұрын
    • From bmao: @adamharding2934 I feel you. Letting go of control is so hard. It often feels like if we don't spearhead the situation, if we don't lead the charge, if we don't put things into motion, then they will not get done, or at least not get done in a way that we envision them getting done. It can be so hard to trust someone else to take the work that you are delegating to them, and it can be so hard to leave something important in someone else's hands. Especially when this something important is the happiness of your family. It can feel like you are the only person that can create happiness for them, so letting go equates to leaving your family unhappy. I struggle with this all the time, and it can still be very hard for me to let go of control. Keeping your family happy is not your sole responsibility. Though it feels amazing to brighten someone's day and to make those around you feel great, you do not have to carry the weight of that responsibility. Simply by being in their lives you are a bright, shining light for every family member. You don't have to burden yourself with the task of bringing your family up. You are enough. You do not have to keep your family happy all the time to have intrinsic value. You can have time where you need your family to pour back into you. Your ability to make your family happy does not equal your purpose or familial role. You can be a bright light to them and encourage them, but the burden of ensuring 24/7 happiness for all of them is not yours to bear. Just by being who you are in their lives is powerful. You lead by example and shine your light in a way that signals them to follow your lead. Then they walk in your footsteps rather than you being forced to carry them along the path. I wish you and your family nothing but the best. I appreciate your openness and honesty so much. We are always here for you if you would like to talk more.
