  • The Range Rover SVR may lose every performance challenge it's put in, but there is no denying its desirability. The sound from that supercharged 5.0 V8 alone is probably the main reason why people would chose the SVR over the lighter and faster Cayenne Turbo. Maybe the looks too. It looks so brash and so menacing, especially in that Velocity Ultra Metallic Blue paint.

    • @@Loachie90 Perhaps that is true. But the Range Rover tested here did not malfunction or break down. So not every JLR product is unreliable. Only those whose customers were just unfortunate. But the same can be said about every car on this planet. There will always be one or two vehicles that malfunction and many others that don't. Besides, reliability reports cannot be the primary reason not to buy a car.

    • yes, but lamborghini has been producing the super cars for decades... they made diablo when the sportiest vw was a golf gti. furthermore, the current state of the art super sports are ferraris and mclarens. lamborghini is also an italian brand. the only pure german sport cars manufacturer is porsche, and they have nothing to compete with a 812, aventador, dbs. not to mention the p1, senna, LFR, agera and so forth... regards

And the Mercedes One has Formula one Technics. As well Mercedes won the last five Formula one Titels. And all everything is owned by Germans. Bugatti is from VW, Lamborgini by Audi, Aston Martin by VW. And american cars aren't competetive.

  • Great video but imo you really should have allowed the RR to use its low range mode. Cars with launch control don’t get made to disable it against cars which don’t have it in other drag races, so I don’t really see how this is different 🙈

  • The Range Rover is simply cooler than the cayenne. The G wagon styling is unbeatable but unbelievably expensive. Nicely optioned svr for the same price as a base g550.

  • Cool. Was the RRS on grass mode or still in auto? Seems like these tests handicapped the SVR. Ie, Porsche doesn’t have a feature so you didn’t allow RRS to use its features. And, how come you allows the G wagon to lock differential but not the RRS SVR?

Mercedes G wagon holds his price realy nice. I can find Mercedes G 500 for ower 35.000 € and the car is 13 years old in my country thats 2007 model. No Toyota Landcruser, No Range Rover comes close to that price.

    • MatWatsonCars I have a tip for you. Something that might be a bit expensive, but would work. In Switzerland, the national languages are: Italian, German, French and a small part that talks a form of Latin. Everybody between 13 - 25 Is able to talk very good English. So it‘s a great melting pot to learn the pronunciation of the brands.
