Today we will look at how maxing out adp affects the gameplay of Dark Souls 2 (SOTFS).

I did not upgrade adp on my first run because i didn't know what it was and didnt care about it (im a smart fella)

Tower Shield is more effective than dodge rolling anyways. Consumes less stamina than dodging, deflects most of enemy attacks including DLC enemies interrupting their combos and immediately opening them up for counter attacks Thrust weapons are insanely meta in DS2 and can poke from behind shield
You could go to 119 agility by maxing out attunement as well, but that's a grind.
I thought it was an even 120
@@moehawk5337 I wish, casting speed also goes up to an unsatisfying 139 when maxed out.

@@bishal1125 I double checked on the build calculator for dark souls 2, put every stat to 99. Casting speed goes up to 150, agility goes up to 119. Sure, you can go over that with equipment, but the base stats will only take you so far.

Adp speeds casting, slightly speeds certain animations, and as you have said, speeds up healing animations and gives your dodgeroll more s.
Also adds poison affinity

Fun fact! ADP also boosts the speed you inflict Poison. Using the rapier and getting a few stabs, then becoming a dodge god while the poison ticks is fun!
Did you noticed how fast your character shoots the ballista against the pursuer? compare that with a character with base ADP.
I heard that the game starts being good at 99 adp. Seriously though, just by the first minute, i can see how well made the video is and how much time went into it. great job dude.

Just one thing, the skeleton lords fight isn't really long if you use a strike weapon like a mace. It's just that "poke" weapons like rapiers are the worst type of damage against skeletons. It's ridiculous how you can 2-3 shot the lords with a decently upgraded strike weapon, try it next time!
Fists do more than most stabby weapons if you are a dex user who CBA to go and get the mace

8:00 I actually love the Skeleton Lords The music combined with the skeleton army makes a fight that makes you not want to stand still. It is fun to me! Skeleton Lords is La Danse Macabre through and through.
To each their own. I find it a bit of a drag but it’s def not the worst. The two tigers in the snowfield would probably take the cake

This vid popped up on my home page and I'm in agreement with others here - knew right off the bat that this is a high quality production. Very surprised you dont have more subs but definitely keep doing what youre doing and you will blow up for sure!
It seems to help some with rolls to me but the main thing is the estus speed because trying to drink estus in this game is not easy unless you raise it up some. I like to get it about 98 or so and i feel like the estus chug is about the same speed as ds3. Well close enough anyway.
Default speed, you might as well be holding up a hand to call for a time-out.
To be fair is kinda the point of the lifegems, they are faster to use, but heal slower. While I don't think this balance was good, i've also always thought that healing in DS3 is way too fast, to the point where you dont need to look for the right openings anymore, you can just chug that shit after any attack and recover before the enemy can do anything. Do think DS1 had a good balance, you had to be strategic on when to use it, but also didnt feel imposible to do like in 2
Well I like the idea of bad bosses like covetus demon existing. He is a guy of that level. He is miserable and that's it. He is supposed to be easy

Covetus demon is fun cus there is so much stuff that youd never see Like the dudes to distract the boss or him eating your equipment off If they gave him more defense he would be an okay boss
People that complained about leveling ADP are the same people that still refuse to level vigor in ER: both have unforgiving deaths and still dare to ask what happened lol

The Elden Ring screen menu OST in the beginning of a DS2 video makes more sense than expected.

99 ADP = almost like a normal character in DS1
s start thinner but ends larger than other souls I understand people not liking DS2 but DS2 is the best one so please at least be accurate with your burn

Might do a part 2 on ng+ where I level only attunment and see what happens
After you got past 30 ADP you begin to have more I-Frame than a majority of attacks have for frames that can do damage. Meaning the higher your agility stat is the more attacks you can just straight roll through that you normally would not be able to.

It's standard operating procedure for my in DS2 that Adaptability is the first stat I boost up in a new game. 6 Attunement and 24 Adaptability get me just enough Agility for 11 s.
at 2:40 you are correct... in saying that the wiki is wrong lol. the i frames i. ds1, ds3 and elden ring NEVER change between weight classes. what does change is your recovery frames from said animation. shorter the animation, the sooner you can roll again/the faster you can chain rolls. hope this helps! anyways, loved the video :>

Always wanted to make a character that just had max vitality and adaptability. Since armor scales off vitality in this game you would be crazy hard to kill, have a lighter roll with really heavy armor, and a ton of i-frames to boot! Getting there is painfully slow though! Better with a respec.
I thoughd armor was affected by endurance and equipment load was affected by vitality in ds2

Great one, suscribed! Indeed the duo before nashandra is a pain, I never get problems with them till I did a Sl1 run, after get killed so many times I went for the cheese with poison arrows on both, dodge and run for a while and finished them with the rapier. Not proud but hey, got them haha

The scorpion stinger is honestly my fav thrusting weapon even more than the rapier, it does more damage at much lower levels and inflicts poison too. OP

Well this looks like a challenge run I can actually do without immense levels of pain and suffering, I did an sl1 of ds3 once and it was incredibly painful, but I still considered doing one for ds2 despite what I had heard about having no adp sucking, this challenge seems like a good way to have a run similar to sl1 without not having any i-frames. Great video!
I did SL1 runs for DeS (crescent falchion), DS1 (pyro build), DS2 (Vanquisher's Seal), DS3 (broadsword + carthus flame arc), and BB (BL4, saw spear). I meant to try Elden Ring but got distracted by life. I had the most trouble with DS3, mostly due to Dancer and the Twins, but I would say that DS2 was the one that tried my patience the most. The saving grace is unlimited life gems so you can take every fight as slow as you want/need. But the strategy almost never changes. If you do end up going for it rather than ADP-only, I recommend going Covenant of Champions, get the Vanquisher's Seal. Although CoC makes things a little harder, the Seal gives you good damage with no weight/durability, and that can be crucial in long fights.
Sick vid, subbed. I will say though, a little more audio balancing with the cutaway references, memes etc. wouldn't be amiss. Good video nonetheless, kept me interested.

Looking at the comments didnt see anyone mention the mechanic of upgrading either endurance then adp and getting a little bit of natural poise (or the reverse of ADP then END dont remember which way it was)
Great video, thanks for returning to DS2. Something that could be better though, is the loudness consistency. Some tracks/memes go twice as loud as the rest of the video. Setting the volume to hear what you wanted to say, but then have a family member woken up by a random loud AF meme is not fun.

every time i decide to play ds2 my level of excitement significantly drops after i remember skelly lords, smh skeleton dudes are the worst enemies in souls after dogs
@@user-eq4tn5xf5i idk man maybe it’s just how I play the game but I like to fight them before the Chariot boss. I mainly use the Blacksteel Katana (I have 12 of them) and Alonne Sword.
i never liked them per se, but i don't get what all the fuss is about. they really aren't that bad, you just have to him them a bunch.
Gameplay-wise, the fight falls flat once the gank of skellies start spawning. If they made a type of fight like the ruin sentinels, with each lord having their healthbar, and actually being the bosses of the fight, the it wouldn't have been so mid.
My first play through, I didn’t understand nashandra was the final boss until I saw the credits roll. I beat her on my second try and didn’t at all feel like it was a unique or interesting boss

Ive always stood back a few feet so the bomb hit the ground, most ground spots have thin walls so you can use bombs on the ground to hit things on the other side. Its tricky to use and trickier to find spots where it works but it has worked twice for me!

Actually Miyazaki wasn't part of dark souls 2. That's why it is so different from the rest games

Literally the best stat in this game. The way they animated most enemy attacks, particularly boss attacks, is extremely deceiving to the eye, which led to the discussion of DS2 having the worst hitboxes of the series, and early on people understood ADP was the best way to fix this. Oh, and you're going to get destroyed in PvP without it.
That is the problem I see with this stat. It’s practically mandatory and it deminishes player freedom. Still love the game though

Yeah the challenge revolved solely on upgrading one stat. I have more runs for ds2 coming up1
Attunement also raises agility. Much like how sorcerers gain their spell slots, fighters must gain their adaptability.

I think the cap for frames is 116 but probably casting speed and healing get a lot of improvement

it's funny 'cause even with 70+ adp, against the lost sinner it's take longer time than DkS1 or 3 to heal... This game is absolute nightmare...

6:44 Let me remind you of vitality and luck in dark souls 3. Why didnt equip load just stay on endurance. and why level luck, when there are 3 items that tripple the item discovery stat. and if that isnt enought there still are the rusted coin items

Been playing through for the first time, decided to do it in the champion's covenant, I have put 120 hours into this playthrough so far. I've not put a single point into this, I didn't know what it did it. Dear God.
Cool video. Currently playing DS2 for the first time myself. Just got to the... undead crypt I believe it is call. The one after the underground watery area beneath the only castle that isn't a ruin. SL123. Haven't put a single point into this stat. At first because I didn't know what it was. Then when I found out I got annoyed. Like it's the sole reason the game plays far worse than the last two. I said to myself "screw them" and wont put any points into it at all. Game's already rough with the gank squads that do their thing til they finally despawn. This is one I wont be NG+ing. Have Bloodbourne on my PS5 to play after this. Or maybe I will finish getting platinum in DS1. NG+ Knight arseholius shouldn't feel too bad after a DS2 completion. 😂

You should max out attunement too, since that also boosts 'agility'. So you can be even FASTER with 99 in both. But who needs spells anyway?
