@@the776 dude don't know if it helps but I started on a table or chair and did negatives and its easy since you don't have to worry about the other leg and you have to focus on squeezing the hamstring as well as quads. From there you can start doing pistols on the Floor. Sorry for my poor grammar

The one-legged chair stand up should be a primary exercise to work quads. It is phenomenal. Yes, it's for the lower end of difficulty level but I feel the burn on it, and I know that many casual exercisers will, too. I'll be doing it until I master it and move on to the pistol squat, but I also do the Bulgarian split squat, which has rave reviews from many who like firm, bigger glutes.

Ok first of all not just anyone can do this. I have been lifting for 3 years I was a power lifter for 2 years. Now, first of all your legs need to be strong because you need to be able to push up ur entire body weight on 1 leg. ONE LEG SQUATS and PISTOL SQUATS are two different things. With a pistol squat your butt is almost touching the ground. So no you will not get it in 5 mins. 2 weeks doing these daily I finally got it and am now adding weight. It’s worth it great exercise for balance!

Bodyweight beast will always be with you, you just have to find it :))
You definitely need enough strength to squat weights equivalent to your weight
If your knee hurts from doing it does that mean you should ease off a bit because it really hurts my knees when trying to push back up.

You need a chair for this one/having some experience with doing squats. Was able to do both sides, my left was harder to do

One problem I run into other than basic balance is the major cramp in get in my hip/butt region in the leg that I'm keeping elevated. It hurts so bad and makes it super hard to concentrate!

Any tips on.. how to work on that whenever I get down I'm standing only on the tip of my foot... I've never been able to sit in a squat with my heels touching the floor, I can do it a bit better with both legs now, but not on one leg, then I don't have the power and the stable point to shoot up. Any tips? Or just keep doing it? haha :D Thanks :))
I think squatting with your entire foot on the ground is a matter of ankle mobility. Try just holding the deep squat position for a certain amount of time everyday so your ankles get more flexible.
