Block Blender is a tool that can convert any image or 3d model to Minecraft blocks with the power of Blender geometry nodes! See my process as I figured out how to make it. Making block palettes and gradients is super easy now.

The Schematic exporter is here!!! bryanvalc.gumroad.com/l/BlockBlenderToSchem Bryan Valdez made a .schem exporter that works for BlockBlender, so now you can bring your creations right into Minecraft. It is a third-party addon made by Bryan Valdez. I do not control the price. I have tested it with Litematica and it worked great for me, but I know it is a work in progress, so please be patient and kind.
I am your first comment like and reply ;)
That is cool! Yaaay!
Imagine combining this with Litematica, literally everything could be build in both creative and survival with that
You could probably look into using Mesa's Litematica mod.
This is gonna be epic , imagine possibilities
As a Minecraft animator, I can't even begin to think of how much I'd be able to do with this
Same here thanks so much 🙏
This tbh
But without the use of stairs, fences, and trapdoors, the build will lack details.
@@thechicken7265 if you can't do detailing with simple blocks, you can't do detailing
@@BadDoodles you r cringe 😊
I'm proud to say I was here to witness minecrafts next great step in creativity. This is a revolution mark my words.
wait to someone pairs this up with a AI! :D Auto generated worlds will never be the same
I mean this has already been possible just not through blender
@@MouseGoat OH GREAT HEAVENS...
me too
@@MouseGoat OH..
At first I was like "nice!", but then I was like "holy cow!". The functionality you have packed into this thing is insane! Huge props!
You can say shit if you want, unless you're a child because if you are, why are you even watching blender tutorials?
As an guy who thought terraria was a copy of minecraft but with the use of a copper and also an animater this could make a great mod I totally agree with you
This is big.
Ayo your kinda famous, right?
This is so cool! The only nitpick i have is that there is no block selection that'd let you exclude gravity blocks (sands, gravel and concrete powder), bc without proper support, they always fall
You can place them on string!
put string under
@@ilya8914 @cuckoobrain7999 I know that you can put a string (or a barrier block on creative) if you'll rebuild it from scratch by yourself. I'm talking about a feature that should exist if they want to add .schem export that was mentioned in the video
You can always go into the node edited and deactivate the blocks that you don't want
@@johndimond8434 Definitely, that's why it's a nitpick. Joey already went above and beyond creating logical groups of blocks, but gravity blocks would _especially_ be a useful group to be able to turn off in a single click because even Creative mode would struggle with those. And with concrete powder it's a large amount of blocks you'd have to manually toggle otherwise.
Damn dude, this is revolutionary for minecraft art. Also, I think the way you went about monetising it is very smart, good job :D
Thanks, I think a free version is important
Ikr!
@@JoeyCarlino Thank you. As someone on disability. Minecraft is a large portion of my time.
Currently, I am exporting an object file created in Blender using ObjToSchematic, importing the Schematic file into Amulet Editor, and dropping it into a Minecraft world. As you can hear, the process of dropping something from Blender into Minecraft is quite long and somewhat cumbersome. I feel a lot of potential in the things you have created. I will continue to support you.🙂
I'm working on a schematic exporter now
@@JoeyCarlino LETS GOOO. Just found this channel. And im simply in awe.
3:55 That's probably the best use of a Speed Racer clip I've ever seen. (And the blender addon is also nice)
Ye
this is incredible! (not that I understand most of it) 😂 great work
Bro how does this have no replies lemme fix that real quick
@@diamond4193 lol
This will be revolutionary for Minecraft set-building. As a filmmaker for Minecraft, it's really tiring to get huge builds done with all the palettes planned and perfected curves and shapes. I've done what I could in Blender and binvox but I still don't know how it will look like in Minecraft. Definitely buying this as soon as I can afford it. (Not saying it's too expensive, 20 bucks is a good price actually.) If I can I will support you, thank you.
This is absolutely insane. Makes me wanna get back into Blender just so I have something else to do for when I play Minecraft for 2 weeks next year
I don’t even play Minecraft very much anymore but I can only inagine how insane the designs and builds will be with this people need to share this everywhere.
"i don't even play Minecraft that much anymore..." That one fragment of Minecraft creativity inside your soul that wakes up every 14 months: "oh you will⚡😈⚡"
I can't even describe how impressive this is. There are no words that could express how huge this is.
the persistence needed to upload 2
True
I understood everything you did and why ...but such brilliant methods. Genius!
I don't understand 90% of what you're saying but this all seems extremely cool, interesting and very useful
This was the first thing that came to my mind after you did your lego video. I attempted to do it myself and it is really complicated and I struggled on even getting separate layers. Great job!
A blessing to the minecraft building community
Boy you've created a Pandora's box for all of us 🥺🤧 thank u so much
Nice project! I think you could have automated the process of setting all 800 nodes with a simple python script inside a blender, it's bit of pain to get through the documentation, but at the end it's so satisfying to generate everything with just a single click :).
I was planning to make something like this using your previous tutorial. This is amazing!
I cant even begin to imagine how useful this could be for building server lobbies, big buildings on creative or just overall for fun, that's so cool
That's the whole new level for Blender users and Minecraft player! It's literally like a new era of improved building!
the amount of effort you put into these videos is incredible! Hope you continue to amaze us with your epic blender skills!
This is awesome! Besides all the other suggestions like schematics, I’d love to see editing which blocks are used smoother, with custom block groups or ways I can upload a list of block names and it uses only those. Keep up the great work!
Good idea. I'm trying to do this for the next version
This is so amazing! Can't wait to try it out.
This is AMAZING work. Well worth the time you put into it. I lol'd when you talked about all that manual effort that was then automated. You have a great style of delivery. Off to gumroad to get it now!
My god, I was trying to develop a bunch of maps for minecraft but couldn't get the terrain/buildings right. This is truly groundbreaking, with this you can finally be right saying that the sky's the limit.
I do a lot of mechanically drawing in SW, F360 and a bunch of others.. but i have never dwelled into blender (only a few times) but it really reminds me of grasshopper in rhino. Anyways I'm so blown away by this.. it could be s giant game changer if it could be imported into MC ❤️ looking forward to see what happens..
your videos are the rare breed of ones with no clickbait. it actually IS about what's on the thumbnail. love it.
Very cool. I am in awe of your node skills
The next step after getting world exports from Blender to Minecraft to work could be a way to compile 3D animations into /setblock or /fill commands for a series of command blocks in order to get 3D animations running in vanilla Minecraft with ease
This is definitely an intriguing idea and a truly brilliant display of perseverance!
This is amazing.
I love people like this. Makes something many people couldn't make. Something cool and useful. Shows others how to use it. Makes it possible for people to use. Makes it possible for a whole community to create cool content.
This is awesome, I will totally use this in my Minecraft Animations :) nice work!
This is amazing! Thank you
ive seen youtubers using the schematic mod for weeks before i even knew this video existed-- very cool to find out the background!!
The editing and dedication to this video are phenomenal. Super proud, keep up the good work, liked and subscribed.
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Making it work with Litematica would be a game changer. Great stuff, man
There's a way to make it work with litematica now, check the pinned comment
Some extremely impressive stuff all around! While I don't expect this to be easily feasible, the ability to add in our own blocks would be seriously appreciated.
0:51 dude you said it the right way
Dang this is crazy. Your work is awesome!
Really cool add-in! Thank you for sharing this! One quick note -- based on how human color perception works, you may get closer "visual" matches to the color on the base object if you operate in HSV instead of RGB color space. It's a subtle difference, but makes a big differences for complex models with few colors, which I stumbled upon when writing up a paint-by-numbers drawing generator. Cheers!
Even better, I suggest a model using the CIELab space. This is 5% more accurate than HSV though it may cause a substantial increase in calculation time. It may also be more difficult to correctly compare colors of this space though.
This is so cool! It has so many possibilities to use it in, especially as you update. I have a few ideas for how it could help some of my building projects, but I'll have to learn more about modelling etc to fully unlock the creative possibilities c:
this is insane, the amount of work you put into it is truly inspiring. huge respect and hoping the best for you.
As you kept going this went from really cool to wow! good job that looks super cool!
This really helped me, Thank you!
This is amazing work. Impressive how many options you added!!!
I started a new world recently and to say this will be game-changing for me is beyond an understatement. Awesome work!
I’ve had a project that took images and converted them. Matched colours to blocks’ dominant colours etc. The distance between the colours thing. Loved that bit. The issue has mainly been creating skin and state data block structures from them. Just haven’t had the time.
This thing is so cool, what I suggest adding is adding a version chooser for the blocks in case you are working on one specific version which doesn't have newer blocks, I know it'd take a lot of time but it's gonna be worth it!
This is incredible! Thank you so much for this!!
You are insane mate. Amazing job! Can't wait for updates on this!
The most awesome tool for MC I ever seen until now. I'm really considering buy it, thank you.
The Build The Earth project needs to know about this
I remember a few months ago I tried to see if something like this existed, and now it does!! Thank you for the help!
This is amazing! The possibilities of this blender tool allowing 3d model to be translated in to minecraft is great.
I was thinking about making this as soon as I saw the lego geometry one, couldn't think of a way to convert the colors to textures though. Good job!
This is absolutely nuts, colour me impressed
Wow! So much respect for all the effort and technical know-how. You rock!
Mind blowing work, absolutely incredible!
super cool I like the Idea and the result
You pretty much innovated Minecraft building. This is gonna be such a useful tool
Colors aside, this reminds me a lot of the line algorithm for line drawn on a screen with pixels, you'd look at the actual 3d model, and when deciding whether to place a block or not you look at the error
Well done, I really like that idea and the fact you brought it to life. It's so cool!
this is so fucking cool. I've always wanted to learn to 3D model so i love watching vids like this... I know this is probably giving me the impression that it's easier than it is, but i still can't help getting excited watching you do this.
i just cant believe something so amazing exists man, mann, congrats
Wow! You're a boss. Great job!
This is pretty sick
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to see more like this!
Dude! This is blowing my mind!
wow. I am speechless. the capabilities of blender just keep growing and so does what we thought was possible. soon anything will be possible this is amazing
Absolutely insane! I love this so much. I can now create some really personalized buildings on blender for my minecraft world. Thank you.
It just kept getting better and better Holy cow!
This is insanely cool, great job!
you’re gonna change the mc community with this tool 👌
subbed and liked. this deserves way more attention for the amount of work you put in
This is incredibly innovative and ground breaking to the community this literally opens up so many doors for builders
As a blender user who transitioned from Minecraft this would be great for kids making the jump as it nicely ties together the two programmes, it looks fairly easy to use as well so great job man👍
Great work Joey! I love how much thought you put into this. :D
Wow. I'm speechless. The amount of work you put into it, and then all the features you added... Just. Wow.
You are an absolute legend, this blender thing is awesome
this was a great video, I really like where this is going. also I have never seen F3 walk mode in blender, that is a great tool that will use in the future
DUDE THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME WHAT
This is gonna be game changing
That is absolutely insane
this is absolutely incredible work that you've done!!! ♥
the man who rickrolled us at the very start of the video
I love the use of affinity, very interesting way of using macros that I didn't even know was posible 👌👌👌
This is so amazing omg. I’m speechless
This is insane, good work!
This is amazing, I can imagine being able to import your world into blender so you can model something into your landscape and know exactly how to build it in the game!
amazing work dude
this is crazy cool and helpful. my inner child who loved doing simple pixel art and would count pixels in images to "convert" the blocks by hand is amazed
0:12 This part was the best, it was very life-changing.
Thanks for that insane work you share with us!!!
Mmmm this will be so helpful and make so much amazing art. Awesome work
hey man this really works on my device! Thanks for sharing.
