Follow us on our rugged roadtrip through Portugal!
Known for its beautiful beaches and scenic cliffs - Portugal surprised us with its variety of landscapes including ice-covered peaks, rainy forests, and granite hillscapes. For 5 weeks, we drove more than 4,800 km around the country, visiting it from north to south and discovering as much of its beauty as we could in our WorldCruiser 2 from Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik.

If I may ask how long was your trip to Portugal. Thanks.

Excellent!
When you have been an immigrant from Portugal for 8 years and you see such a well-conceived documentary of some of the wonders of your beloved Portugal, you cannot see it without shedding a few tears in a mixture of nostalgia and pride for what is your country, especially seen through the eyes of a foreigner my big thanks for this beautiful production. Have done more for the promotion of Portugal's natural beauties than the Portuguese tourism department, I will share it tirelessly.
Faço as tuas a minhas palavras
Portugal is breath taking, stunning!!! The Earth entire Earth is. Our CREATOR speaks through CREATION. It's nonsensical to disbelieve in a SUPREME BEING. The Earth has been designed just as the Human Body, the animals and insects bodies. What's disturbing is the building that has all the human skulls and bones decorating the building. It's SICK and disrespectful to the dead, not to mention creepy!!!
I bet they left out the slaving trading part of their history!
@@cameronnyack6493 Yes, unfortunately. Understandingly, many videographers do not want to ruffle feathers, or be overly negative. Afterall, travel videos are to highlight the beauty of a location...

Portugal is a truly magnificient country not only with its history, geography and the like but also with its people. The Portugeese are one of the most decent, honest, natural, polite yet modest peoples in the world. I spent three years in Lisbon, the best three years of my life.
I met only one maybe two Portuguese and your description fits perfectly. I think the fact that it remained a modest country with strong living traditions, artisanship and crafts is what makes the difference. When a country is beset by money speculators, bankers in collusion with the currency printing central bank, basically all parasites that produce nothing and have a negative effect on its society, the principle of people feeling they can trust each other in fraternity and share a common destiny is oppressed and replaced by evil and they are forced to serve bad interests and industries that only keep those parasites rich. It's what is going on in usa. Not by coincidence, Portugal historically expelled this kind of parasites in the 15th century maybe that is food for thought for countries like the usa.
Portugal is great. Iam dutch and have a portuguese husband.. Iam lucky enough to live in the north of this beautiful and friendly country. A country with big caracter, the people and the land. Although iam a bit byass...iam a traveler and seen a lot countries. Portugal has it all for every traveler. Beaches, mountains, rivers, very nice small villages and trendy citys, good food and vinho verde.... ❤ Very good job at showing the beauty of this country
best country in western europe for off road enthousiasts. one day, i will live there.

Portugal is an incredible country, probably the most diverse and beautiful country in Europe. Its rich culture and history give it an unforgettable and passionate charm. Absolutely unbelievable this video, congratulations for the work and for the Roadtrip. I bet it was unforgettable for both of you.
It definitely was! We were really surprised to see how varied the landscapes of the country are. Always good when your expectations are overthrown on a trip 😊
I don’t know about diverse ! But it is beautiful. The people are gentle and honest 👍
Your portrait of my country leaves me in tears. Incredibly well done. It fillls me with such pride, although I didn't do anything to make it like it is. Thank you for making this 🙏
Thank you for your support and words! This truly means a lot :)
@@LucasTJahn And thank you for visiting! You're always welcome!
I was fortunate enough to move to Portugal from Hong Kong in 2020 (Under the Brexit withdrawal agreement as I'm British,) and as soon as I arrived something clicked in my heart and I knew that I was home. This is a very, exceptionally well put together documentary. Thank you.
This is some of the most professional and beautiful travel photography/videography that I've seen anywhere!! Please keep up the fine work! My wife and I intent to emigrate from the United States to Portugal in the spring of 2023. You've definitely fueled our desire to explore the country fully!!
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Carl! Much appreciated :)

3:20 “enjoyed the quiet” …. That’s a key point ! It’s gorgeous here all year and oh so peaceful. Where else in Europe can you be free of thugs and thieves ? Where else in Europe can you be guaranteed free of litter ? The beaches are spectacular! In three years here I’ve never seen litter. My favourite thing about living here ? This might surprise you … but it’s the clear air ! Just superb ! A real difference from the rest of Europe
Portugal is a wonderful country. A hospitable people, beautiful landscapes, delicious cuisine and an excellent hotel and transport infrastructure. I've been to Portugal 3 times on vacation and I intend to come back more often. Greetings from Brazil.
The best documentary I ever have seen about my country. Thank you for documenting it in this so magical way.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I just about to say the exact same thing ❤
Your country is Epic! You should be so proud of your country, your people, and your history
I agree with you. Portugal is a wonderful country and this documentary portrayed Portugal well. I've been to Portugal 3 times on vacation and I've seen the beauties of this country up close. Greetings from Brazil.
I want to retire to Portugal and spend my last chapter there.
We just did a few Lisbon videos on our channel, only in Lisbon btw, every day was filled with an itinerary, and we didn't even cover half of what is worth seeing. It made us realize how much history and amazing landmarks this country has and how there is no way someone could visit Portugal once and be fulfilled. You visit this place and by the end of it you have mapped out an idea of what your second trip is going to be.
As a Portuguese person, as an off-road adventurer and as a Tourism operator and guide, I can't find enough words to express how smiley and proud I am after watching this documentary! Great footage, awesome editing and wonderful narration. You still missed a few spots and scenery, but hey, that's what makes us return, right? You got my like and subscription. I'm really looking forward to more content. Keep it up!
Thank you so much, that is much appreciated :)
I would love to hear which locations you think they missed that merit a visit. I'll be retiring to Portugal in the spring of 2023 and intend to take my time exploring and photographing the country thoroughly.

Easily the best travel video about Portugal ever! Period.
Bom filme sobre Portugal, muito boa qualidade fotográfica.

No matter which weather Toyota landcruiser will never stop awesome adventure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a stunning video. Thank you Lucas. Portugal is a beautiful, especially the North and Gerês National Park area. It is still very Celtic, Roman, with an important Germanic contribution as the Suevi, Quads, Buri along with Vandals and Visigoths settled in that, and Braga areas. Come back more often, and once again, thank you so much for showcasing my lovely country. 🤗🙏❤️🇵🇹

Portugal oh Portugal, how beautiful you are.
The stone granaries were extremely compelling! I’m familiar with the wooden ones in Northern Spain, but the Portuguese ones were fabulous. Thank you for editing this film. Truly beautiful
A proper exploration away from popular tourism and its clichés well done you guys!

Lord of the rings never gets old, I know that most will thing parts of Portugal look like Game of Thrones but Lord of the Rings comes to mind first still, crossing the snowy mountains, the caves... nothing beats it.
🇵🇹 Obrigado Thank You. I’m Portuguese and you show me more that I not even known .Great job . Amigo
Such a pleasure, thank you! :)
Fantastic documentary! Your story-telling is wonderful. We've been living in Portugal for 3+ years now making videos here, but we have yet to portray the nature and history in such beautiful fashion. I'd like to see you do more niche documentaries where you pick narrower topics such as Madeira or the Azores only. That would be interesting too and perhaps that would increase your output also, so you don't have to travel through an entire country each video, haha!
Thanks so much for your comment! Madeira and the Azores are definitely on our list for solo-documentaries each, haha :D We definitely love to portray an entire country as best as we can, but we fully agree that it will get very difficult with larger countries. Will have to produce several episodes then, which sounds like fun as well ;)

You are right! The rocks formation of the Atlantic Ocean reminds me, the Twelve Apostles of the Victoria's Great Ocean Road. Portugal has wonderful natural sights. Well done and thank you.
This production is literally up there as a documentary in terms of quality. Amazing job! Thank you. Portugal has been on my list for a while. So underrated especially as someone outside of Europe
Becoming a favourite country of mine.
Those little houses where cereals are stored, the granaries, are in fact of Germanic origin (from "Pommern"). Portugal, particularly the northwest of Portugal, has a Germanic rib due to the Suevi who founded a kingdom (Suevi Kingdom "Schwaben") in the year 411 ad. with capital in Braga. It was the first Christian kingdom in Europe. Portugal is a box of surprises. 👌 Viel spaß !
Northern Portugal has the highest number of Germanic place names in the Iberian Península.
The most beautiful documentary I've seen about my country, but it's sad you didn't visit my hometown, Coimbra, where one of the oldest universities in the world is located.

Stunning footage, thank you for making this and sharing with all of us!
Delightful postcard of Portugal with wonderful scenic landscapes. 👏👍 My apologies for the horrible bureaucracy required to be able to use the drone to capture amazing images of many of Portugal landmaks.
Thank you so much! 😊 The main issue with the complicated drone approval process is that many visitors just don't care and then fly without permits wherever they like. That cannot really be in the interest of the authorities, we think
