That has to be the gold standard of diy cabinets you have created Jim. Brilliant stuff and thanks for sharing.
Hi Jim I have recently sold a vapor blast unit and curse the day as you say the speed and finish are superb I look forward to seeing your build list has I have the same sand blast cabinet as you are using and was thinking of making it into a Vapor blast unit but the three in one is a fantastic setup. PS I just did the ABS removal on. BMW R1150R as per your video👍👍
Hello Jim. I am very interested in your ultimate parts washer. Would you be willing to sell plans and parts list for your cabinet? Or some pictures showing how it all goes together. I wouldn't need a wiring diagram. Thank you for making the video.
Thank you very much. Very professional approach and inspiring!
We need a through walk-through on how to build this for those of use who are less resourceful than you. Fantastic work!
Back rewatching this 8 months later and it’s still amazing how cool this video is. Give us the diy and parts list!
Brilliant. Many thanks for sharing.
Simple rotary switch like you find in a DIY car wash, a power supply, a plc, a few motorized ball valves, a few LEDs and a bit of programming and you are off to the races
Just do solenoid or motor valves with rocker or push button switches first man lol. The rubber covered rocker switches are pretty nice and would be suitable for this thing I would think. Im going to build an automated or some type of parts washer soon. Been collecting parts for awhile. Nice job man
I’m well impressed Jim. Love it
Wow!! What a great piece of kit doing all that in one unit.
This is my new favorite vapor blasting cabinet build, that thing is an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for sharing.
Would love to see the other video regarding how it was built, etc!
You did an absolutely perfect work building this cabinet! Couldn't be more jealous! Impressive!
Best DIY version I have seen. Just about to start building my own….. damn it, now I want the hot wash included 😂 well done bloke, thanks for sharing. “Nuffys Builds” complete approval 🏍🇦🇺👍🏻
Awesome job. I assume you have a diverter for the drain for each cleaning process?
Absolutely brilliant
Absolutely amazing machine, first cabinet I’ve seen that can do all, bravo.
Lots of great ideas. Thanks for sharing
Jim, what an awesome bit of kit! I have been looking at a blasting cabinet and watching this video has just made my mind up into doing something similar. I am looking to build a workshop in the coming months and this is definitely going to to be included in the plans. I look forward to watching the videos once you've edited them on how you constructed it but, in the meantime, I will do some research on the individual components so I won't be completely pilfering your idea. Keep up the great work as it inspires me to do more and more myself.
Does an amazing job, really did look like new.
I’m really impressed. As someone who has about 20 years in as a technician I really enjoyed watching the thought and consideration of every addition! If this gets out enough there is sure a high chance of possible endeavors out there for you. Great job pal
This is amazing. I built a vapor blast cabinet and was given a commercial parts washer that I use a bucket heater with but this is a whole other level.
Savage job mate, fair play to ya
Awesome setup mate! I got myself a sand blasting cabinet and was planning on turning it into a vapour blaster.. be good to see your list of parts as well; I might head to your Patreon page for that. Keep up the good work Matt
This is absolutely amazing. You thought of everything!
Jim ur a clever man. And im sure u have worked hard all ur workin life.to come up with smarter ways to work. Is very good.so u provide the best service to ur customers.
i worked at the biggest engine rebuilding plant in north america. he had a couple of engine cleaning booth. they worked like this: -rotating sprayer like a dishwasher spinning inside -boiling and steaming water inside the cabinet for about 1hour -we added what looked like either dishwashing or clothes washing powder inside -the engine part were on a stainless rack that would rotate inside
Thanks for sharing, you're awesome!😉
@@octavios8081 i discovered later we used peroxyde in powder form. you can buy it in the USA as "Oxyclean" powder. it is normally used to wash clothes. the hotter the water the better it works. dont forget to rince afterwards.
Looks good Jim it will certainly stand you in good stead and make rebuilds quicker to turn around. Dont forget to label your buttons before you press the wrong one.
Outstanding Jim , it's been a while since we see a video .
Bravo Jim
This is a badass build you done... 🍻🍻🍻
Great cleaning machine, I wish I had one!!! Great credit to your skills..
Brilliant bit of kit that.
I just found your channel and this build. This is epic. Skookum is a great Canadian word from AVE. Skookum would definitely describe this it Brilliant
I thought your van was snazy, but this is friggin awesome!
Yes Jim we love that, time saving will pay for itself eventually, great. #detailingworld #vapourblasting #sgs
Awesome job, was wondering what tyoe of filter you are using on the washing side and what type of cleaner were you using? Thank you for the great video.
Perfect machine!! Very well done!! Thanks for sharing!!👌👌 When will you put next video about it?!??? 😅😁😁
I’m loving your cleaning station, and am in the process of designing building something similar. One thing I’ll add is some magnets! Your door flap, a few magnets to hold it up out of the way for load/unload as well as when down. Some magnets for the gloves to hold them out of the way when desired as well.
For someone who has OCD. that was an excellent therapy session. Thanks
Brilliant!!!!
fantastic machine just what i need Any chance of a build video or some pointers on plumbing please
Very nice!
Thanks!
Mate that is super.
Hi Jim have you made the video on the build of the machine yet? Thanks
Awesome!!
I think you missed your calling! You should be selling these things ready to go! Nice work!
hello amazing work !!! the best machine i never seen !! do you have videos of the assembly and the list of accessories you used please ? many thanks
My dream garage workshop would have one of these.......
Oh my god! You sir are a genius. I have been looking at various video’s recently on making your own vapour cabinet, but this just blows them all out of the water! Have you changed anything or improved it further, would love to know. Plus if you have a list of parts available I’m sure you would get your hand bitten off for it. Well done Jim.
Nice thing. well done
Awesome 😎 👍
Enjoyed the tour of your setup. Do all the processes drain to the same tank?
Link to Facebook not updated. Fantastic build thanks for sharing.
A plc on a parts washer. Who would have thought. Anyway, brilliant results! Btw, whats the gt85 your talking about in the end? Your using it to conserve parts?
That's so good you could spin off another business manufacturing them 👏
Looks amazing. Any updates on a build or more detailed video? 🎉🎉🎉
well done mate! Ciao ;))
Be great to get an idea of how you've connected up the three tanks - I'm building a large cabinet with all of these, possibly with three tanks (Wash, fine and super-fine GB. if you have a few more details on your design / layout I'd love to see them :-)
I envy your setup! PLC is a good idea, something like easyrelay or Siemens, easy to program in ladder. Could even automate some of the process. Cheers for sharing.
Arduino will be much cheaper.
You are genius😊😊😊😊
have you tried, after cleaning it all up, use stainless ball media to peen the surface? the idea is that, that exhaust side in particular looked quite porous (due to surface corrosion of aluminium), and glass bead at best just cleans it up, but stainless might be heavy enough to level it out, make it smoother, less prone to catching dirt and corroding?
Would love to see the follow up video on your design.
Hi Jim, did you post the parts list to Patreon? I wasn't able to find it or any build pictures. Cheers!
I’m sure you can even cut the mat in two or three just make each part slightly bleeding on each other and i’ll be easier to put and remove item from it. But whoa just amazing job until then I was still hesitating paying big money for one from famous vb brand or build one myself, now I’ll definitely go to the diy version !
wait wait hang on Jim, go down that rabbit hole
I didn't see a follow up video. Was one released for paetron followers that details the build more?
Can you provide a 'build your own' document for this vapor blasting cabinet?
Hello, can you tell me where I can get a tank to heat the water as you indicate in the explanation at minute 4:33, I really appreciate the information.
I would buy this in a heartbeat, as long as I had the cash on hand.
Love it! i am starting to plan the build for my system now and would love to see more of the ins and outs of what you did here, are you still planning on a video showing that? i dont see it on your channel
Nothing planned for this one, although I'm starting to figure out the design of MK2, full touch panel control, etc. Fully automated changeover. There's a big, long conversation thread on my Discord about the build. Most of the information is there. I'm really sorry, but you'll need to be a Patreon to get at it. Link in the description.
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV appreciate the response, I will join Patreon I don't mind contributing for the knowledge, not sure I want to go crazy with a touch screen one but maybe I can be convinced haha I will take a look at discord.
No worries 👍 see you in there 😁
Hi mate any idea what L/min or CFM/ horsepower air compressor you run? I just got a hush 150 410 l/min about 4.4hp. They say it won’t work. I’m just so obsessed with silent motors I will make it work
Love the idea. Nice job! I think I need to do this. One suggestion...use water tight switches installed INSIDE the cabinet to actuate solenoid valves to change from one operation to the next. No need to remove your hands from the gloves over and over.
You are not the first person to suggest this! Personally don't think it's such a great idea. It's such a harsh environment inside the cabinet even the best quality switches wouldn't last with the heat and high pressure. I'm already on my second set of high quality billet aluminium waterproof lights!
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV True watertight switches aren't connected directly to the switch. It's just a mechanical linkage with a rubber seal connected to a remote switch. Even if it did leak, the liquid wouldn't harm anything. I can send a drawing if you're interested.
Buenos días puedo ir a su taller a ver su maquina de lavado saludos cordiales desde Tlalnepantla estado de México
superbike surgery LTD what kind of kompresor are you useing?
Everything you did is very impressive ! Yet after trying myself and watching at the cost of everything in the end converting a dry blast cabinet can be so cheap that I would probably make three separate design with three different cabinets, which would drastically avoid cross contamination between all the media, and also help with the maintenance as all the designs are not mixed, but if you don’t have space clearly you did a « monster » here 😂
Great intro. When will part 2, as you mention, that goes deaper come out? Can not see it on Patreon site either. Wonder most how many watts of heater? Will not the introduction of cold compressed air quickly cool the degreaser fluid?
Thanks for the comment, there isn't a second part unfortunately. If you are a Patreon then please join the Discord Server. There is a dedicated chat relating the the parts washer. I'd be happy to chat as much as needed and share my experience building it. There are also a couple of other people in the group that have also had a go building one with some good ideas.
Very impressive! Can i buy one, with 230Volts?
What light you got on that mate
How can I buy the plans for this ?
man what a washer, if you publish plans for your build I'd love to try build something similar.
You can join my Discord for as little as $1 a month. There's a conversation thread dedicated to building one yourself. link in the video description 👍
Looks and works fantastic, how do you seperate the degreaser from the bead slurry where they drain out?
Very interesting and they look like TRX heads.
Well Spotted. TDM Heads, Same Thing 😁
Best way imho to degrease motorcycle parts Is to steam clean outside. Ie hot pressure washer. If you are flush get a 21litres/ minute model. This will shift any dirt / grease. That requires a 3 phase hook up. Lay the pieces on carpet to prevent damage.
Could you please make a build video getting into the details of how you built it? How do you prevent the slurry from contaminating the degreaser? Does it drain into sewage? Are the drains separated?
Second that, have watched over and over again trying to work out plumbing Please do a video on build up
It's a bit ocd but that's how I roll...😂😂😂 you should put that on a shirt 👌🏽
Hi , mighty job 👍 What degreaser do you use Thanks Philip
www.machinemart.co.uk/p/5-litre-parts-washer-concentrated/
Looks amazing, now i need to build one to :) only does vaper blasting the alu camshaft surface not any problems ?
I wouldn't go near an aluminium bearing surface with it. It'd probably be fine but given that they are clean anyway and hidden inside the engine there's no point 👍
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV thinking the same about the alu gasket surfaces. Do you check they’re ok with a straight edge?
That is a fucking belter! You're entering Millyard Genius territory here, Jim!!!
very impressive - i'm not sure how feasible it might be, but could you have controls for switching functions inside the cabinet? those gloves are annoying to get out of!
Foot pedals/switches
Great machine! - What printer did you use to produce those snazzy yellow labels?
BROTHER PT-E300VP
maybe he had them made. he spend 1000$+ on this setup so 20$ more for a set of custom stickers aint far-fetched.
Any chance for the video on how you put it together?
Really sorry, but I just don't have the time. Almost all the information is available on my Discord Server. There is a conversation thread dedicated to it. You've got to be a Patreon to see it. Link in the description. 👍
Hey Jim been two years know how it still going have u made any other enhancements to it great work mate
It's going great guns, it's had different lights, a new replacement slurry pump and a wiper motor. Apart from that, it's as it was when I built it. It's done hundreds and hundreds of hours of work and hasn't really given any trouble. All in all I'm really happy with it. 👍 I've started working on the design of MK2 but that's still a long way off!
LOL, you're on a whole new level! I really enjoyed your video Jim, truly amazing work! Like many others, I was hoping you were going to put together a series of videos detailing the construction and setup of this unit, along with plans and a detailed parts list. Of course, available for a price, I believe today more then even a few years ago, there would be a huge market for it, from nirmal DIY individuals to many businesses that would purchase the total DIY, videos, plans, and parts list package, or even as a complete unassembled kit. Sadly, for me, it looks like you won't have it available in my lifetime. Being in my 70s, I often forget my clock is winding down. I'm also trying to finish the restoration of my 1965 GTO so I can leave it to my grandson once I'm gone. I'll keep checking back to see if things change. If you are keeping a list of interested parties that would like to purchase the plans, please add me to the list. Thank you, Bob Kuzyk B.kuzyk@shaw.ca Cabada
Hi Jim ! Can you build on for me ? Regards S.Kvig 😀😁
i wonder how it would not just instantly start to rust. i degrease, then sandblast. after that if a drop of water hits the part (cast iron mostly) instantly starts browning (rusting)
Looks fantastic is there any chance you could build another one for sale?
I could but think the price tag would put people off. There's also a liability issue if something went wrong. Just wouldn't be worth the aggravation.
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV what sort of price tag would it be a disclaimer could get round the liability
@@paultomkinson2177 Sorry but I'm just not interested in opening that can of worms! You could join my Discord Server and I'd be happy to talk with you regarding the details of your own build. Or head over to this guys website it may be helpful. (Nothing to do with me but he seems a good guy) howtomotorcyclerepair.com/diyvaporblasterbuildplans/ Obviously only a vapour blasting cabinet not hot wash but it'll get you started.
This video is nearly two years old. Sadly you didn't release the build video you announced (3:40).
did you ever get around to making a supplement that shows a bit more in-depth how everything is put together?
Sorry I didn't. There's a dedicated conversation thread relating to it on my Discord Server though.
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV I'm on Discord but don't find you
@@petercrowl9467 Are you a Patreon?
Just seen you have joined 👍
I have no need for a parts washer so there is 20.53 minutes of my life I won't get back!!! That aside...You Sir are a genius and a genuine case of OCD being a positive condition for the benefit of others 👍
when will you have the full build how to available?
There won't be one, unfortunately. All the information I have is in a dedicated chat on my Discord.
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV - would you happen to have a playlist of the YT videos you watched to put yours together?
@BLACKTOP MODS I pulled information from all over the place, not just KZhead. Once I had a good idea of what I wanted, I just made it up as I went along. Not really that difficult if you get a solid understanding of how these things work. If you want a shortcut then maybe look at purchasing some build plans from someone like: howtomotorcyclerepair.com/ Just a Vapour blasting cabinet though,. no hot wash.
