  • So many beautiful birds.🙂Some years ago, I had 2 cockatiels that shared lifes for twenty years. After one of them died at the age of 23 1/2 years, I decided to get a budgie to accompany the old one left behind. Yes, they fitted well together for 2 weeks. The budgie was very vibrant and started to tease the cockatiel. It thought this was real fun but the old cockatiel got more and more nervoes and anxious, so I had to separate them. I got a second budgie and the cockatiel lived nearby in a separate cage till he passed at the age of 25 1/2.

My grey gets larger ones obviously, and the little guys all get the budgie sized Higgins Intune pellets (no seed included in any of them)

  • An excellent video, Sir. Thank you! I am not a birb owner, for various reasons, but i do enjoy watching videos like this one. In Florida, where I live on the Space Coast, we have several species of birbs which live here most of the year; they generally fly south around November, then we see them again usually around mid- to late-March. Our regular residents include: boat-tailed grackle; northern mockingbird; raven; scrub jay; seagull (2 or 3 different species); brown pelican; white egret; snowy egret; ibis; cardinal; sandhill crane; great blue heron; osprey; bald eagle; several species of hawk; and various songbirds. We also see lots of migratory birbs here; some winter here, while others rest here then continue south or north. Sorry for being so long fingered! Just wanted to share the many different kinds of wild birbs we have here. 🙂

  • Have budgie and cockatiel that share a cage with no problems, when first brought home they had separate cages but when let out they would go and look for each other and if budgie went into the cockatiels cage and I took him out the cockatiel would sulk, they kiss each other and spend most of the day out of the cage playing and flying together if one or the other is away they call each other to return to their side also have a green check conure and she lets them play in her cage and often joins them on a cage, they have all the freedom I can give them and they only go in a cage at bedtime, the budgie and cockatiel are boys and the green check conure is a girl.

    • Hey!:) You should check for the seeds first at all, in the petstore they will give you advice which one you should have to choose, also Cockatiels should eat mostly vegetables, there is some info about that topic around the internet

      @curlypaty7498@curlypaty74982 жыл бұрын
    • "Vegetables are very good for Cockatiels. There are carrots, broccoli, beet greens, dried tomatoes, corn, endive, kale, spinach, sprouts, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, mustard greens, turnip greens and chards. While most vegetables are better if given raw, Cockatiels prefer pumpkin, sweet potatoes and yams cooked.Oct 25, 2019" this is what I have found

      @curlypaty7498@curlypaty74982 жыл бұрын
    • TOPS and Harrison's pellets are the best (pellets should be only 30% of their diet and veggies 50% and the other 20% should be eggs, pasta, cuttlebone and fruits unsalted) Here's why other pellets aren't the best quality- 1. They have fillers like soybean and wheat which, you can see that the are they most abundant by seeing which order they are in, the ingredient list, the list goes from most abundant to the least abundant so, if you see soybean or other fillers in the first five items, don't buy it! 2. They have sugars or salts, this is mostly found in coloured pellets but also sometimes in non-coloured ones, the salts and sugars are really bad for your bird happy birding!!!
