  • Ngannou was very adept at mitigating Fury's best advantage over other boxers and is how he managed the clinch. Fury is usually able to tire out and frustrate other boxers with punch combo followed by clinching and putting his weight on them. Ngannou's size power and MMA experience with clinching took that away from Fury.

We can make up a ton of excuses for Francis as well on why he was not at his best also. He just never fought anyone like Francis.

  • I think Francis is way beyond the Rocky story. What he came from compared to Rocky is night and day. There will definitely be a movie about Francis life and how he stayed true to himself despite the world being against him. He's an amazing man and I hope he retires in the future with a clear $100m in the bank. He deserves it.

    • The Rocky story could be remade with Francis, and it would be different and more gritty than the fake and terrible Creed movies. It would need to be a 2 part film, with the first half showing the slow journey to the USA. The Creed movies really didn't capture the essence of Rocky at all. Rocky was a gritty film, first and foremost, not a Hollywood action movie. Every scene in 1976 Rocky part 1, is so gritty and slow. The film didn't try to cater to the audience, it focused on slow complex character development without much action. A "Ngannou" film could be a modern day Rocky story, with Creed (the intelligent, rich, witty, spoiled champion) being an athletically gifted white man, instead of the very good, very athletic black Carl Weathers character. And the story works, because Tyson Fury doesn't hate Ngannou, they are actually friends, so they could work together later on when Francis has to face a big Russian boxer!

      @starseeddeluxe@starseeddeluxe6 ай бұрын
    • I hope the movie producers recognize that in the Rocky movies, Creed and Rocky Balboa always respected each other, and Creed chose Rocky because he liked him. This is the exact opposite story formula of conflict and anger in most Hollywood movies. This is exactly the same as Ngannou and Fury, who are both very respectful to each other. You can imagine Francis training with Tyson Fury (when Fury loses his next fight to Ngannou and then they become training partners).

To beat Ngannou he chose the wrong tactics, he tried to fight like he did in the past few fights but needed to be the slick guy he was in the first Wilder fight rather than the Kronk style. Ben Davidson would have been able to train Tyson up well enough not to embarrass himself. Ngannou nullified Fury through fear of the power and his size. I've been saying to people don't underestimate Ngannou because he has power and striking ability even if he's never boxed.

  • It's not just that Francis knocked Fury down. It's all the other stuff. How Francis stayed balanced with his legs, had great reactions, body shots, shifted stances, effective energy, etc. *The only thing i could critique was, he needed to stop trying to counter lead left hook in the later rounds because after the knockdown, when Francis just went & pulled the trigger, instead of waiting to counter, He was having success. I hope this shows him that If he didn't slow down his offensive output at the end, he could legitimately go out there and be a very successful boxer. BUT i want to be clear: There was never a point where (Fury was CLEARLY winning or even clearly HURTING Francis) *{Which, i wish was a bigger factor in what decided who wins these fights!} *Also Francis dealt with Fury's pressure & clinching nonsense Better than anyone! He even posted up certain times, framing off, throwing shots in the clinch, tossing Fury off him. He Handled getting hit with the Hardest illegal Elbow, (could u imagine the reaction if it was the other way around?) Lastly, even tho yes, Francis definitely needed more offensive output in the final rounds BUT it's impressive Francis was able to manage his energy against one of the best. It's beyond impressive and i hope to see Francis commit more to boxing because he just proved he can hang with the best. With him now knowing, i think Francis can really be a force of nature in the boxing world. *Even if u guys think Fury won, it's at least impressive that Francis was able to do what he did in his first pro boxing match. So many others have tried and haven't shown what Francis was capable of doing. I just hope to see him continue to push himself and see where he can take himself in this craft.

It’s bewildering how Tyson Fury has managed to retain his belt for an extended period without any pressure from the federation to relinquish it. Moreover, we cannot overlook how he sidestepped the much-anticipated rematch with Klitschko. The ongoing speculation is that Fury is intentionally avoiding a match with Usyk, casting doubts about the fight happening on the 23rd. If the event indeed gets postponed or cancelled, it is imperative for the federation to step in and instruct Tyson Fury to vacate the belt. However, given the corrupt nature of boxing, it is dubious whether they would actually enforce such a directive

  • Fury was pompous, cheeky, and not taking Ngnnou seriously before the fight. He’s getting laughed at because he was enjoying a victory he wasn’t prepared to earn. I watched the fight and it was a rare instance where the numbers did indeed lie. $50 million cash grab and Fury’s camp exited looking less like winners more like robbers. They saw what the world saw, a shocker. Fury got beat up. Ngannou was intentionally not destroying him because he genuinely respects the sport of boxing. If you saw the power of his hits and the force of them connecting then you should have also seen the surprised reaction in Fury’s face and the disbelief in his eyes. He didn’t know what hit him. He didn’t even expect to be hit that hard. He didn’t even believe the scorecard.

    @purposeoverpride9805@purposeoverpride98056 ай бұрын
    • Really good points. I predicted this exactly. I knew Ngannou would knock him down. But I also said, there's a high chance that Ngannou doesn't fight at 100% because he will not want to permanently hurt Fury. Fury really gave Ngannou a huge opportunity here, so I think in some ways Francis probably respected Fury too much to seriously hurt him. If Ngannou wanted to, I think he could have knocked him out cold. Imagine if this was for all the real belts, against someone Francis didn't have a friendship with?

Selling the sports soul to the Middle East and taking fights they expect to win easy while delaying fights the fans actually want. • rewatched the fight. very impressed with Francis. two very close rounds - 7 and 10. I give 7 to Francis because he was more aggressive and 10 to Fury because he landed more clean punches, Francis was a bit more aggressive, but it was a dud as a round, It could potentially be given as a 10/10. So 95/94 Fury or if I'm feeling generous 95/95. Either way patience and sticking to a game plan goes a long way as Francis showed plus his impressive physical attributes makes for a fears opponent. He had a big 8th round throwing a lot of punches which lead to him slowing down a bit in the last two. If he paced himself a bit more in the 8th I believe he would have landed more in the last two rounds and subsequently declared the winner.
