As an arborist in training, I love to see these kinds of videos
Editing another one at this very moment :)

Hey I'm thinking I'll get into it. Is it sweet? You like it?

Great video!! Please keep a lot of the small things you do in the video, really enjoyed it. Thank you
Thanks for watching. Just uploaded another video with lots of details
It's art almost, each tree is unique which makes the job interesting every time.
Good job learning to get comfortable keep doing it!
Thanks alot!
This is so cool. Everything is just under beautiful control!
and the nature too😍
sick video! i am an apprentice climber- i started training at job corps but they closed for covid. Had trouble finding a Master Arborist since then but videos like this keep me in the loop. cant wait to get back to work
Hope you get climbing again soon man!
What brand is the lifeline that you are using?
you're the man !! thanks for the spectacular video !!
Faen så flink. Det er slik det skal gjøres. Har vært mye i toppen selv, og vet dette er imponerende.
I used too do this kind of work and let me tell you it is no joke mad respect 🤙
Thanks!
Buen trabajo, me gusta le técnica 👌
Thank you for filming this. really interesting
Cheers man!
Great work! I like your set up in the tree. Safety is key...
Thx!
What a great idea using a prussic knot on your flip line for going all the way around the tree! It’s there if you want it and can be a normal flip line when you don’t need it. I like that better than a mechanical clip, the Prussic stays however you set it. Loose for going down and can be slipped tight to choke the stem when needed! Good job. Thank you! Ps: what country do you live?
hehe yea :) thanks for watching I'm from Denmark
18:00 onwards for the real action, rope work and climbing skills insurmountable. excellent. awe inspiring.
That’s crazy your a brave man that’s one hell of a long way up
Good work mate, leaving a length of rope/throw line at the top for an anchor point would of saved so much time spiking back up 👍
Yes I know, but we had left the trees like this over the weekend. And needed the throw line for other jobs 👍 Thanks for watching!
@@treecareman9128 use old clothesline and leave that behind instead of dyneema
You think roping back up is quicker/easier than spiking back up? Maybe you need to practice your spiking as the only people I've known who do that are shit on spikes.
@@benjaminholbrook8848 what Barney means is, he would’ve saved time and gone straight to the right trunk and started rigging right away.
@@benjaminholbrook8848 He means he would have had a tie in point the whole time spiking up instead of unclipping and re-clipping to advance his line.
Nice work, looks like a tight area! A tip would be to do a bit more planning ahead on a job like this, leaving the closest spar to the drop zone tallest would have made a much better rigging point for all those stems and when your done you have a rope in a pulley up there to the top and a open landing zone to just chunk that one down. What is that little pry bar thing yu have?
LMAO that was my most interested part.... Whoa what's that thing!?! I want one
My palms sweat just watching 👀this
Tank you for the video god bless you 👍
All the best to you too
I don't know anything about this stuff but it was interesting to watch. And besides the chainsaws, it's good ASMR.
You have excellent taste in gear right down to the airstreams. Are those arbortec hi viz pants? I need to wear hi viz so I might as well lean into it. Rather than only black pants. I have a black pair of breatheflex pro UL pants and there really couldn’t be a better chainsaw pant, especially for summer. The Arborflex skins base layers are really thick so better for winter. But the storm skins are awesome. And you were in the top of the tree before I finished so obvious badass.
I’ve been doing some abrogation training but I’ve only been trained in roping and was told that the spike method wasn’t used anymore. In Sweden at least so I didn’t make the grade on tree cutting class. I think I’ll be more of use on the ground driving around delivering all kinds of goods and mail than up in the tree tops.
Spikes aren't used in Sweden??
@@treecareman9128 so the teacher told me i thought it was strange too. But maybe just in the school grounds i don't know.
I'm surprised you did not install a friction saver for the DRT.
Is that second lanyard like a buck squeeze? In case you kick out ?
awesome, hope one day i can have gears like yours bro...you've got new subscriber bro
Great! Welcome
What kind of pry bar was that you used??
Lovely clear video nice work .only pet hate is frayed rope 😃 please get a hot blade and trim up that rigging block line that frayed endwould drive me nuts lol.....also I get the groundsman to warm the saw up a bit so when you receive it ,1 pull and it starts .easier for him on the ground than you up the tree ..nice video amigo stay safe .🙂
A little off topic here but what type of roof are on those houses in the beginning of the video? Looks like some type of black membrane
Interesting technique. I have yet to see a pry bar employed to break away the block of wood. Do you prefer this method over hinge cutting? Please explain.. Thank you.
Well I'm a pretty new arborist, so I don't think I've compared the techniques much. But I always make both cuts overlap. Then if you want to make sure you have the direction right, you can add a gob in it too.
Going through an onboarding process for Asplundh Tree Experts rn. I've not been this excited or terrified about the future in a while.
Take care man. Don't accept being pressured too much
Keep it up bro 👍
Thanks for watching!
he really should
whats the device called that you use to pry the wood off of the stump? that would be nice for my company to have. I want to buy these for my arborist employees
Hey man! you should! www.steetz.com/buy-tools/forestry-tools/hooks/aluminium-felling-lever/

yeah it's nice
Dude. Awesome video. Any tips for a new climber?
Get equipment that you trust. And get used to leaning back into your harness
love this kind of videos too
What is the green skid you’re using called?
Just started out as a tree surgeon. What invoicing software do you use?
Haven't used anything

@@lucfournier3939 Sure, so I hadn't had to climb up and set it up again? We did that too, but there were weeks between the jobs, so sometimes we couldn't leave a flipline up there for too long, so we had to do it again.
@@treecareman9128 GREAT 😊
There's another way to climb trees te the John ball to the crach but as long that you got a safety when you going up is good and a lifeline
My El Salvador brothers thought me what you speak of. Feels so safe
How are you so calm up there
Nice👍👍👍
How many years do you have experience for trees do you cut all arborist types just curiosity since I need myself years ago has been over 30 some years I said the name I am where I go by I liked for people to try to not call themselves exactly where I call myself it's going to get confusing but you keep up the good work let me know how many years you got underneath belt
Currently 4 years 👍
Can you tell me what skills person should have so that this job would be fitting for him? How did u you got an idea to become arborist? It looks like very physically and dangerous work.
Yea you shouldn't be too stiff, and also need to get comfortable in heights. But if you really want to, and you've got the body for it. Then it'll be no problem. But get a proper training
After 18:00 Just beautifull done! My respect
Good work bro! Is this filmed with the chest mount? Greetings from across kattegatt!
Actually i have the gopro in my mouth

@@treecareman9128 Thank you for your answer, I will try this the next time on my videos too, thank you buddy and have a nice day!
what type of tool is that that you tilted the log over with??
felling bar 540
In the state of california, tree felling is highly regulated. I tried to get my certs, end results: 8yrs of fire prevention wasn't sufficient. Lame.
What did you stick in the cut to push that log at 18:32 ??
Iziah Herrera it’s a felling bar
Flot stykke arbejde 👍
How did you know the top of the tree was not rotten inside and could support your weight when you belted in? Also, that's some solid rigging you did there.
You get to know your trees 😊
Next time don't de limb the entire thing and leave the spars up in the sky scraping the clouds. It would make your job a lot easier and you wouldn't have to waste an hour and a half climbing all the way back up to the top of that spar . Also like the guy said in the previous comments you should have left The spar closest to your landing zone higher than The spar farthest from it.you did good . Just keep working at it takes time and practice. An that felling bar is nice. But definitely not a necessity higher tip tie on the tagline a open pie. And decently experienced groundsman could have saved you a lot of that bounce up that spar. Just food for thought my dude
How do I learn how to do this? What trade is this? Can I do it in Canada?
Search for Arborist og Tree surgeon
Your a pro love the vids u should get payed a lot for this
thanks man! I'm trying my best to put the prices high haha
Have a good day keep up the good work
Hey tree care man cun u sub to my channel it will help me get vids uploaded
Great video buddy the green thing you're using as a safety lanyard what is that called and where can I get that from the whole set up
It's called a Hipstar Flex lanyard from Teufelberger. You can also make it yourself with a pinto pulley and a little prussik. But have a look on the net for it! Thanks for watching
Thanks buddy
Is that green lanyard a ce lanyard?
Yes now called a hipstar flex
Why no notch ? Logs spin and snap like toothpicks like that. Never seen it done that way before unless crane work. Also like the guy above said - you could of just swing everything to that one middle tree instead of spare rigging like that. I bet that took forever !
Why use your climbing system when you begin? It cannot properly choke and descend in such a configuration. A friction saver or srt choked configuration would seem better here.
Did you purposely cut that triangle in the tree?
Best? I do like his back up scared strap though.
Haha 🤣
I've never seen that log lever before. So obvious after you see it LOL
I kinda miss climbing I was geting to a point of 2 out of five days I was scared really didn't want to be in the tree I'd still climb but didn't like it couldn't kick the fear
It the second time i watch this vidéo and my feet sweat
So y’all wear a specific shoe or something for the tree
Yes spikes we strap into our boots 👍. But they should only be used when the Tree is to be removed. Not on pruning jobs, that would damage the tree

@@DrHavok1 ah good point!! Thanks for commenting
@@DrHavok1 thanks! You saved me 19 mins
Your snap cut was opposite of what it should have been. The lower cut is the felling side.
16:35 what kind of knot was that?
Where can I buy these spider man lookin boot equipment
His boots are "Mendl Airstream" Chainsaw protective, GoreTex, Steel Toe, lightweight, and very comfortable. Any Arborist website will sell them.
Is there any chance you can tell me where to get one of those green cinch ropes? The one next to your flip?
They call it a Hipstar Flex
Bro that is way too much equipment for me. I'm not knocking it, but I prefer just a buckstrap and spikes on a spar. Double wrap if it's sketchy. Blow it out and ride the wave. I am however very impressed with your setup. I've never seen anything like it.
Is this tree going to end?
Check out my newest video, also good content. Might be better that this one
now I can get the coco nuts
My bud is an arborist and I don’t know how he does it 😰 sooo high
When you are doing something which has risk involved, then you are forced to keep a steady mind and high concentration. No one can rush me, because I personally refuse to do things faster than I feel comfortable with.
And when you're self-employed no one can sack you either haha
Türkiye'de olsa mahallenin yarısi izler yemin ederim reyting bile alırsın
Look like Spiderman in the trees
Man you should've put a half of a wrap on that
How do you get any work done being that slow?
Haha, I'm self-employed and business is great. I don't rush things, and you don't have to either.

Great job, that type of work is not for everyone…😬
The 1:00 mark is my height limit.
How many times did you Un hook then hook then unhook then hook? Jeez, I know safe but come on climb the thing production
