  • "Attacking Generals play the Evans Gambit on Medo's birthday." - Sun Tzu Nothing like an Adolf Anderssen game. Thanks for showing the interesting "improvement" too. Only the Evans Gambit could win a game faster when the opponent finds a better move than used in a previous loss.

    • @@jire9831 well,in 1863 Morphy went to paris during the civil war. At the insistence of his friend De Riviere,he played some 15 games with him, winning about a dozen and losing 3. At that time,De Riviere was the strongest player in France and Morphy crushed him, despite being out of chess for almost four years. Now cut to 1883,De Riviere, way past his prime, took on tchigorin, who was a brilliant player, and very narrowly lost 4-5. In the same Hastings,1883, tchigorin was the only player to defeat Pillsbury, and quite easily too, the strongest player in that tournament. Now you can work out morphy's level.
