I created this video for those who haven't competed before. When I went to my first competition I walked in shaking, stood in the back of the room all day and didn't talk to anyone until someone finally talked to me at the end of the day. There's nothing to be scared of at competitions and I hope this sheds some light on that.
Thanks to Schwan Park for this video idea!

This video really made me smile. Awesome job Chris!
JRCuber U rejected me at nats 2017 6 times. What the heck
JRCuber nice comment
same
JRCuber I love your chance it 9s so cool bro
JRCuber can you tell us about your first comp
This commuity is underrated.
Let’s keep it that way. I don’t want the record to be harder to beat.
Cubing as a whole is underrated
Just wondering, do you need a speed solving mat for comps?
Serinded no you don’t

Competitions literally did change my life. Before I was extremely depressed and lonely, but after my first comp I was thrilled, happy, and more alive than ever.
My sub 10's are as rare as Rowe Hessler smiles
Mine is rarer than bill wang’s smiles.
I have never gotten a sub 10 solve
(It’s not going to happen for a LONG time)
Same for my sub 30s

Leo Borromeo - Speedcuber hi
hello leo lol
This is amazing. Great work Chris!
I love how the only clip of me in this video is me on my phone snapping people. Story of my life
Thanks to this reply I finally made the connection that Natalie Smith from CF and Sassy Ginger from KZhead are the same person. 😂
Yep. Lol
Met one of my best friends at my first comp. Next year I convinced another one of my best friends to go as well. This year I'm getting another one of my friends to go. Comps are such a great time
Ping Pong Cup Shots I wish I could do that. But none of my friends are cubers :(
I’m getting my friend into cubing
So good
oh hi ! i like your video man, but post more, PLEASE!!!

WE CUBERS ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY!! :)
And yet you call him a "friend"
Exept when they borrow your cubes during class😅.
U are from India aren't you?
Legend say if Chris gets the world record... He will give a thunderclap to every single of his subs
yuvraj singh legend says you’re not a cricketer
But I already have a thunderclap
He had a 2x2 wr
can't wait, then!
My second solve at my first competition was judged by Eva Kato!
Hey some people will judge sometimes but it really didn’t matter it’s your time and if you like your time that is the only thing that matters
TheReal Mucus uh the judge is the person next to you when you solve. He wasn't literally judged
Why do i see you everywhere
Lmao
nice! my 1st solve of 3x3 was judged by Sebastien Weyer
Who is here after will won 2x2 at nats 2019
Beautiful video, amazing job Chris 😍
Aryan Chhabra time to register for a comp now 😂😂😂
are you coming to SNU?
Conundrum Cubing no I was just kidding but I will soon (probably next year)
yes its actually very nice
Things that stop me from going to competitions: - Covid 19 - My location - My Skill level - My self-esteem :(
Min Han Chia :(
Cubers are probably the nicest people I have ever met because it’s almost like they understand you and why you are there. And the best part is you can have your cubes all over the table, and nobody would steal it. That is trust😄

I needed to see this. Thank you!
Amazing job Chris! As always!! I agree with most of this things, it made me remember of my first comp...
I'm constantly amazed at the quality of your videos. Great job!
Always amazed at the cinematography, Chris. Cubers like you are such an inspiration and the main reason that I keep at this hobby. I love this community so much
Well I guess it would suffice to say you’ve done it again, Chris! This video really made me smile and appreciate the community for all of its openness. I’m going to be watching this on repeat for a while now.
I love this style of video. This one is by far my favorite of yours. I think everyone that has been to a comp can relate to this video and it's great motivation for those who haven't.
Ive really watched all of your cinematic, vlogs and educational videos now and I'm just always waiting for your new content. So inspirational! You've got a new sub :)
This is the first ever video I watched completely. This helped me a lot. Nice vid.

Loved it. Awesome work chris
amazing job chris!!!! loved it!!
Amazing video Chris! So cool to see how it turned out!
Wow Good job Chris I appreciate this!
7:18, it reminded me of a time when I met Drew at Worlds, and I asked him if he can sign my shirt, when he was done singing it, I asked him if the cube he was holding was a Boron Treated GTS2M, and he said “Yes. Do you want to try it?” And I wasn’t expecting him to ask him that question, so I said “Sure!” I tried it and I told him I was very impressed with the cube. I believe it was the 3rd or 4th day. And I have to say, Drew made my day
Damn Chris! Back at it again with the high quality videos! 👌🏾
This video is amazing. It’s heart warming, amazing job.
This is so well made, I love this.
how does this not have more views. honestly, this video is so freaking amazing
thank you so much for making this video. I am going to my first comp March 3rd and I am supper excited to meet new cubers.
This really inspired me, I loved this. After going to my first competition just last week, I think Im really going to start practicing and getting better.
This vid made me smile! Thanks Chris
Thank you ♥️ You've convinced me to go to my first comp
Fortunately this year at school I met a guy who averages sub 20 on a 3x3 and a few other cubers who are really great to talk to. I never thought of being nervous for a comp, even though I've never been to one. Great video Sir!
Gorgeous video Chris!

I'm going to my first comp in the 21st of April and this helped me calm down a bit and not worry about how fast i am. Thank you for posting this! wish me luck at my first comp.
Thank you so much! I'm going to comp on March 31st (Charleston Spring) and this inspired me and I was a little nervous about the comp coming closer. This video definitely made me feel better!
At my first comp I sat in the back and didn't talk to anyone and just went around asking people to solve like my 6x6 and 3x3(at the time I used beginners on 2x2!)etc. Now i'm a lot more social and I am SO glad I overcame my shyness to hangout with the cubing community!!!!! Excellent video Chris!
Wow that's one of the best cubing videos of all time....... @chris you are taking cubing to another level
This was a great video it really made me smile, gj Chris
Yaasss Kennan! You're still alive!

Great video Chris!!!! Anyone should go to a competition. Everyone's welcome!!!
Cyotheking ur the best , ur videos are the best. Very inspirational and motivating. Having the first comp in my country ever, finally I can go to one very excited
Thanks for making this video! We don't have a lot of comps in the Netherlands and everytime there is one, I don't really wanna go because I'm pretty bad at everything. But this let me know everybody has expirienced something like this. So again, thanks.
Great video Chris !!!
Great video Chris! I hope this inspires many people to finally just go :)
Wohoho, amazing. It will truly serve the purpose!!!
One of the judges for one of my 3x3 solves at my first competition was Patrick Ponce.
Amazing video! I wish I'd seen this before my first comp last fall; it definitely would have put me more at ease. I hope you're seriously pursuing a career as a documentary film maker, I will watch everything you make. :)
6:57 i love those old style mats and timers
Stunning video. I aspire to the level of filmmaking and editing you put into every video:D
Amazing. I love all u cubers!

Hi quality content like usual Chris. This one is almost as good as The Life of Rowe Hessler. ; )
Never gone anywhere
So this is what you had been doing !!! Great video❤❤
Going to my first competition in a month! So excited.
this is beautiful
I didn’t know about competing for several years after learning 3x3. 10 years later I finally attended a competition. Great video!
Amazing man!
Amazing Chris.... just outstanding! :-)
Amazing video. Brilliant
This was a great video! I just registered for my first comp. and I'm very excited!
Lol my first comp was Manchester open 2018. I was so excited and it was an amazing time. Love the vid!
Speedy Reviews so was mine!! 😱
My first comp back in 2017 was amazing and I loved it
This is honestly one of the best cubing videos i've ever seen. I'd really love to go to a competition but i live too far away from everything (6 hrs to nearest competition).
I dont remember too much from my first comp, but i remember how many people were friendly and how even the judges helped me figure out how to do the sorta stuff
This is really inspiring!
I am watching this 8 days before my first comp I’m so excited
Heres my first comp story. My first comp was fun I was with my friend who wasn't competing my first event was 2x2 at this time I was pretty bad at and very nervous. In 2x2 i averaged around 15s and got a 20s solve but that doesn't matter comps are amazing mine was pretty nerve racking on 2x2 I got the same judge a few times in a row most of those times were Extra Scrambles (ES for short) because the person forgot to reset the timer the same thing happened on 3x3 getting an Extra Scramble isn't nice but on 3x3 i did pretty good I mained a gts 2m and got a 25s solve and a 34s solve with 27 - 28s solve between but i didn't care i ended up getting off the stage after my ao5 and laughing it off with my friend we then walked around the room and watched people building a tower we talked and tried out cubes, both of us got to meet feliks and he's nice. While waiting I was sitting with my mum and friend talking to other cubers sitting around us heck someone looked like the cubing version of rambe but in the end if you're nervous go the people are great its a great opportunity to try new cubes and meet people comps are great
Can’t wait for my first comp
amazing job chris
Wow! this really makes you think about in others at cube comps
