Over the last 15 years I've sprung off in every direction from trance- electro, minimal, drum 'n bass, psychedelic stuff, I took dubstep as far as brostep but not quite all the way to trap (barf) ...as fun as all those genres are, NONE of them can instantiate the goosebumps (and even tears sometimes) that I get from trance.

I've been playing this video every day for the background audio at my job, I jam over it, and I play it at super low volumes while doing other related work that requires sound (i.e. tutorial videos). This is some damn quality music and I'm both grateful for all the artists that made this stuff, but also for you for putting this together.
Btw, I must say that 3:09:40 is so damn beautiful. One of my favorite moments on this compilation, along with 1:17:05.

3:30:00 of pure joy. Trance is something you must feel, rather than see. I listen to this music no matter if I am wrenching on a car, sitting outside in the rain (because repeatedly forgot my damn keys) or sad. Trance is the solution or the soothing elixier for everything.

This is one of the best mixes I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, tysm.
I drive to Charleston once a month to see my endocrinologist and get my estrogen levels checked. And I play this through my car's auxiliary port, and drive down the interstate for 2.5 hours playing these tracks loud enough to drown out the car noise at 75 MPH. I wouldn't have it any other way. Also Orjan Nilsen- La Guitarra (2008) is one of my favorite tracks to listen to. It has just enough of a mix of mid 2000s synths and echoed guitars. 10/10. I also really love Taya and Tiff Lacey- Only You (2008) as one of my favorite tracks.

Look if I could ever comment harder on something I would but I desperately miss this form of music. Specifically in this style the way it used to be before drops and whatever fuck else. I miss the transcendent forward age Style of the original trance it just had the perfect balance of perfection. I'm a tail end millennial and I still dream of chilling in Ibiza sunset even though that's long been passe that's how I grew up

As someone who listens to both trance and prog rock, I was very confused to hear the opening notes of the Genesis song "The Fountain of Salmacis" various times in the David West song (first occurrence at 36:37). It doesn't appear to be part of any version of Suffering Island I was able to find, so I reckon it's a little Easter egg you put into the mix. Nicely done! 😆 (Now I wonder what other classic rock references I missed, apart from the Tangerine Dream opening...)

Have you listened to 'Electronic Architecture Vol1'? That's the album where I first discovered it (and several other tracks I use often), I highly recommend it and the other volumes (vol2 is my favourite album ever. Period.)
